What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
Kingsdaughter613 replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
It was short for Lord’s House. And it can also be a synonym for religion. I’m not entirely certain what you’re asking. -
Certain plastics are really strong and light. So those could be used to fly. Some aluminum alloys too. Carbon fiber is another possibility. If they are using bat wings though they wouldn’t need such light material. Bats don’t have hollow bones.

No, I was not being sarcastic. It’s actually very similar, at least if we are using traditional Judaism and Catholicism. Church comes from a word meaning lord. This one may have a similar etymology. Church can also mean religion; so The Lord Ruler’s Church/ Church of the Lord Ruler could be a common synonym for the religion. Both explain the presence of the word in world. -

That sounds EXACTLY like the relationship between Judaism and Christianity... -
It seems to work on some Shade based weaponry from Threnody.

Duralumin/Lerasium Alloy. Aluminum actually has a use.

Atium/malatium mistings only existed because Preservation switched things around. Sazed fixed Allomancy, but I’m not certain whether we’ve got confirmation that such mistings no longer exist. Atium gives reflexes too, not just faster perception time. Zinc helps, but I think Atium still beats it in combat utility (at least until aluminum becomes super cheap.)

They are actually pretty similar in many ways. When you splice DNA you are still attaching two things together. If it’s the right things it can have certain effects. Many genetic issues are caused by splicing mishaps resulting in deletions. Splicing is additive. My issue is that the sDNA involved here (human strength) shouldn’t interfere with the expression of the Allomancy sgene. When we’ve seen it effect the spirit web before it impacted mental and emotional function. On the other hand, if a Feruchemist had Allomantic sDNA spliced onto his spirit web he would probably have issues as Allomancy genes interfere with Feruchemical ones, but not vice versa.

Well, good thing Raisa has access to iron medallions then... Though I still think compounding gold should fix it if done quickly enough.
-
I need a hemalurgy chart. I always confuse which spike steals what. Maybe the Leatherbound HoA will have one... Eitherway, it still shouldn’t interfere with your Allomancy. Maybe mental capacity, or make you more violent.

That doesn’t really make sense to me. When you splice a new branch on to a tree, the tree just grows two kinds of fruit. Splicing is additive. It adds something. Burning a spike splices it on to the Sdna. It doesn’t remove anything. So he should just be a twinborn now. (Feruchemical pewter/Allomantic iron.) Now, if Feruchemy interferes with Allomancy, I’d agree there’s a chance. But it doesn't; it’s the other way around. (So a Feruchemist who had allomantic sDNA spliced onto his Spiritweb might become only a ferring. But a Mistborn wouldn’t have the same problem.) http://www.dictionary.com/browse/splice

Typically, splicing doesn’t remove; it adds. So the original Sdna should be there, with a foreign addition. The idea is that even with the splice the addition is still recognized as foreign. If gold is tapped quickly enough it should reject the splice. If he waits it won’t work. Burning massive amounts of Aluminum could work too, but I don’t know if anyone in world knows that it purifies.

Or you could use Raisa’s idea and solve the problem...
-
Yes, yes it would! Nightblood destroys on all three realms simultaneously. NOW we know why we needed Nightblood on Roshar!

The answer to 3 is no; Stormlight just leaks faster when breathing. 4 is yes, but in very different ways. 4.5 is yes for Lerasium, sort of for Hemalurgy. 5: Harmonium is a godmetal, So has alloys. Everyone on Scadrial, possibly everyone period, is a lerasium/lerasium alloy Misting. There were never supposed to be Atium or Atium Alloy Mistings. Harmonium is currently too explosive to burn, making it a moot point. 6: Harmony has a Perpendicularity. It may have been referenced in one of the newspapers. The Perpendicularities do not generate Metal. Lerasium was near the WoA because TLR put it there. The pits existed because Preservation did something. 7: In theory but only with regard to yourself. Atium shows you what others will do, and also grants mental acuity needed to use it effectively. Atium also allows for glimpses into the Spiritual Realm if burned with sufficient strength. Its alloys do this too. (You probably need Duralumin for that though. Or death.)

This was answered. Warning: SH spoilers ahead. We have seen at least two and possibly four Scadrian worldhoppers. Demoux and Felt being the obvious ones.
-
Actually, something like Nightblood should be too heavily invested to have iron/steel lines. And TLR is unlikely to be able to make sense of Seb’s bronze pulses as it will not be allomantic or feruchemic investiture.

“Nor do I have such an inborn gift, but with the Sovereign’s gift I am as one who is metalborn. ”The Malwish have begun a trade in such goods; you might purchase one from them and so rectify your folly.”

All-Time Favorite Cosmere Scene
Kingsdaughter613 replied to MistbornAlpaca's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Also from SH: From BoM: The scene where Allik discusses the Bands of Mourning because that was when I knew who the Sovereign was. Steris’ ‘framed for murder!’ line. Wax talking with Harmony. Wax and Steris FINALLY getting married! The coppermind. Various Mistborn: ’They say I will hold the future of the entire world on my arms.’ Rereading This always gives me chills. Pairs nicely with: ‘I am, unfortunately, the Hero of Ages.’ Spook stopping his tin and running through a fire. Kell’s ‘I am hope.’ Marsh’s reveal in TFE and Elend’s sacrifice. Tindwyl’s lessons. TenSoon’s escape. -
“Remove the spike and give him gold to tap? Perhaps that would heal the damage.”
-
“You are a fool, Hemalurgist. What ill deed have you done now?”
-
(It’s unlikely that Raisa’s accent is typical SoScad, as she is nor using a translation device. And you really should have tried one of her cookies.) ”Whatever it is that Eighth seeks.”

“My ‘kind’ are the same as your own Northerner. We are one species and share this world. Our Sovereign is your Survivor. Ett reigns over us both. “My people are the Shafan.”

“The Realm of Mist.”
