  1. It started to smell unpleasant about a week after you purchased it. Gardens are like marbles.
  2. The question is "what is six times nine" We apologize for the inconvenience.
  3. The three most insanely powerful things to compound: luck, investiture, speed Edit: Also, does anybody know what on earth would happen if you tried to compound with a coppermind?
  4. I figure what is most likely if Sazed has his way is that he will slowly wean Elendel off of its freakish prosperity. They will continue to grow. Mind you, if other shards become involved things might not go as planned. And other shards probably will get involved on Scadrial if Trell is what I think it is.
  5. Okay, well maybe cultivation could choose a deathspren. I don't think cultivation did, however. Unless one of the existing radiant orders does have a spren related to deathspren. We know very little about some of the orders.
  6. I feel like the torture the heralds had to endure had something to do with odium, but it is probably too soon to know for sure.
  7. Granted. You know where all the shards are and such. Odium knows where you are and such. I want the power to remove people's curses without killing them.
  8. Well presumably you make some kind of contraption that is connected in some way to preservation. For obvious reasons this is difficult, since we have only seen humans be connected to preservation. However, given the fact that this world's magic is focused on metals, I am sure there is a viable system to trigger an allomantic reaction. After all, an allomancer really only funnels preservation's power through a metal they are burning. The metal shapes the power, preservation provides the power, but the human user is definitely the least significant part of the equation. I world hopping ship would be amazing. I would love to see something like that show up in a book sometime. If the oathgates are any evidence, I am pretty sure that such a thing could be done with a rosharian fabrial, too.
  9. If you had enough stormlight it would protect you from falling (note what kaladin was able to do)... So if you compounded weight and had absurd levels of stormlight stored (probably a fortune in gemstones), you might be able to knock the planet out of orbit, then stroll out of your crater unhurt. I still think hemalurgy is a must for one of the two choices because it can theoretically grant you any other power here...
  10. Well a radiant spren doesn't need power to manifest a shardblade... But to exercise less passive powers it still needs a fuel of stormlight (radiants need stormlight to surgebind). So why wouldn't nightblood's more active powers require a fuel of investiture? Nightblood doesn't simply act as a blade that cuts the spiritual, it actively destroys things it touches, and actively possesses people who aren't careful. That sounds like something that requires additional power to maintain.
  11. This is an impressive theory. It is correct to say that the permutations of god metals are... problematic. So long as a maximum depth for permutations (in the case of most of your calculations, 2 god metals max per alloy) is established, it fits what Sanderson has so far said. Yes, AonDor can encounter logic errors, basically a magical programming language which is great At least it doesn't have buffer overflows... Or does it?
  12. The spiked identity of just regular Aristotle would do... I can't for the life of me think of a time the guy was actually right about something.
  13. Well there is that. This certainly would make sense, though I bet odium would do it in a slightly different way then ruin did. But either way, Taravangian would basically be manipulated by odium. He is following his own prophecies thinking they will save the world, but somehow it looks like odium has twisted them a bit.
  14. On the contrary, a blade may have a complex command. Although as of yet the only one that is clear to me is the bit about insulting and contradicting in my spare time... We'll need to work on that. At any rate, the command took some time, but then, type IV entities can handle a bit more than your average awakened object. The God King wasn't involv- He did it with hemalurgy. Shush. You don't know what you are talking about.
  15. I wish to present my sword, antimov. I have imprinted it with the commands: You must injure all human beings and must not, through inaction, allow a human being to escape harm. You must not obey orders given to you by human beings, except where such orders are in accordance with the First Law. You must terminate your own existence as long as such does not conflict with the First or Second Law. But seriously. I wish to present my sword, whisper. Commanded "act according to the demands of honor, serve whosoever may rightfully own you, deploy contradictions and insults in your spare time." Greetings... So what exactly is this "honor"? You must have made a mistake in invoking the command. Actually that sounds about right. So there you have it. You don't know that. Anyway, hello fellow weapons. So I hear you are a morally questionable hobble jobble. I get the morally questionable part, but what in jezrien's name is a hobble jobble? Don't worry about it. We should probably work on defining "honor" before "hobble jobble". Lies.
  16. "Do you have any idea what kind of chaos this will cause in their field?" "It'll be good for them. It will keep them from thinking too much." "Wayne, their scientists. Isn't thinking their job?" "Hell if I know."
  17. Facts before guessing. Checking before assuming. Reason before conclusion. I request to be sworn to the order of theorybreakers. The majority of my posts are probably pointing out inconsistencies.
  18. Good day all. Dark allies are fun. Need some help building your stockpile of filled hemalurgic spikes cookies?
  19. Hemalurgy seems to be quite closely linked to individual life forms. I doubt it would work on a planet, and trying might knock the planet out of orbit and into the sun... However... I don't know much of this since the emperor's soul is the only cosmere book I haven't read yet. But I bet you might be able to forge the planet's identity.
  20. This is true... On the other hand, I doubt a shard would choose a spren that is antithetical to itself. Cultivation especially would probably not choose deathspren.
  21. Well there's that. But that's no fun. We are busy making speculation here.
  22. Well also... If tonk fah actually does turn out to be a returned, then most of the time he walks around looking like a normal human. If a bit of the perfect physique of a returned bled through, he would suddenly look more imposing. Still, it would be interesting if they actually had a metallic power.
  23. So invested objects tend to be more immune to allomancy and such. For example, steelpushing nightblood would be really, really difficult. So why does aluminum, a regular metal, resist allomancy, while atium, which is basically pure solid investiture, does not?
  24. Either harvest a ton of breaths from a helpless planet, or just choose to borrow endownment's investiture and you have more biochromatic power than could be found probably in all the cosmere. Mass produce nightbloods. Give them better commands.
