Will Mraize hunt Jasnah?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
In a Mraize vs Jasnah scenario, I will be on team Mraize. Partially because I like him more, but also because it would be a nice development if Jasnah lost for once, just like it was a good change to not have Kaladin save everyone in OB. As for Kabsal, there are a LOT more efficient ways of poisoning someone than dressing up as someone Jasnah will instantly dislike and try to feed her poisoned bread. -
I was saddened by Amarams fate in OB. Kaladin volunteering for the army breaks me too, especially his parents reactions to it. Losing both of their sons out of nowhere, at the same time.

Why isn't the Stormfather red?
Toaster Retribution replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Honor and the Stormfather already had a connection before that. All of Adonalsiums investiture was keyed to the Shards after the Shattering, so it wouldnt be unreasonable to assume that a lot of Stormdads investiture was keyed to Honor. -
Will Mraize hunt Jasnah?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Ghostbloods has attempted several instances of assassination on Jasnah. She says so herself, and we see an attempt on her life in WoK too. True. I was thinking more of Kabsal to be honest. -
I want to see that, mostly for Bloom. The fact that it has so much sex scenes is putting me off a bit though. I dont think they can do someone too old for Thom. WoT is a huge commitment, and a recast in the middle of it would suck.
-
He has attempted to assassinate her several times, and his assassins have been constantly failing. So what I wonder is if he still cares about killing Jasnah since Radiants are now known to everyone? And if he does, will he decide to do the deed personally, given the various brands of incompetence his minions has showed off?

Could Honor build a Death Star with Battar?
Toaster Retribution posted a topic in Stormlight Archive
Dumb idea, but hear me out: We know that Soulcasting can be used to turn things into other things. Example rocks to smoke. We also know that Honor could fuel the Heralds directly through Honorblades, which made them super-powerful. What stops Honor from taking Battar, fueling her through the Blade, and starting to turn planets to smoke? Is it not honorable enough, or are there limitations I have missed? -
I think Henney will do great. I will admit that I was hoping for Orlando Bloom just because I really like him, but this Henney looks like he can pull it off. I hope we get Thom, Galad, Min and Logain soon. I suspect Min and Galad will also be relatively unknown, maybe Logain though (Richard Armitage would crush it in that role though). I wouldnt be surprised if we got someone famous as Thom though.

Axies is in the Endgame now
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yup, because I’m saying that all recurring characters has to be dead. RIP Roshar. What I’m really trying to say is that Brandon has made a very clear statement on Axies (we wont see much more of him) despite the fact that he can feasibly appear a lot. In fact, if he remains alive it would be wierd if we didnt see him more considering how much he knows about spren but most likely about the history of Roshar as well. -
Beard looks much younger than he is. Maybe?

Axies is in the Endgame now
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
That is my point - I doubt that Axies (or other aimians) are unkillable. I think that everything in the Cosmere can be destroyed in some way. If Adonalsium could be Shattered, Axies can die too. Axies is one of few characters that has been mentioned or appeared in every Stormlight book (even Edgedancer). He has a clear personality and is written to be very intriguing. This is not the case with Tvlakv, Elit or Relis. Furthermore, we dont know wether they will appear again or not, because no one cares enough about them to ask. These were all one off appearances, never to be seen again. Axies is a recurring character. Yup, very likely. -

General Grievous is one of the best Star Wars villains. -
Axies is in the Endgame now

He said that we wont see him more. Not just that there wont be POVs, but we wont see him. And just for the record, I love Axies. -

Question @Chaos: If you get a timer like on reddit, will it close things a certain amount of time after the topic was created or after the last post in said topic? -
I kinda forgot that Marsh said that. My bad. Still, my impression is that he seems to work with Sazed for the most part.
-
I do this too.

Axies is in the Endgame now
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
I really dont see Brandon delivering such an absolute statement if that was the case, especially since Axies is a character who can feasibly pop up anywhere. -
Marsh seems to be Harmonys errand boy, more or less. I dont think he has been worldhopping, unless Sazed specifically told him to. Also, if he does worldhop, he might not need to hide, depending on where he goes and why. Not all worldhoppers try to pose as someone native. Iyatil for example, is not blending in for one second.

I think Axies will die, pretty soon. Reasons: 1. Brandon specifically says that he will appear again but briefly. WoBs (bolded by me): And: Brandon seems intent on making it clear that there will be just a tiny bit more of Axies. To me that implies a clear plan for Axies. If Axies is just around to have fun, then why would Brandon be so intent on saying that he would just be around a little bit more. If he was a random fun guy, he would most likely appear now and then, and Brandon wouldnt be saying things like ”just a bit more”. There is clearly a plan for Axies, and that plan involves just a little bit more from him. Thus, the logical approach is that he will die. And who will kill him? I think either Odium or the Ghostbloods. We will get to see how you kill an Aimian, and Axies will be the one who dies.

Dalinar, Hoid or whoever he writes at the moment (unless its Amaram) seems to be his answer. His favorite Shard is Autonomy.

So the Heralds wants to leave the Rosharan system? I get why Kalak would want that, but why Nale? He has his own private army and seems to be content with ”protecting” Roshar by hunting proto-KR. The only reason I see for Nale to go to Gavilar for this is because Ishar asked him. And so, it isnt necessarily Nale who wants to get off-world, but Ishar, who thinks that he is a god. Anyone else who thinks that Ishar might be planning a Cosmere crusade?
-
If they are marching somewhere with an army, yes, she will probably join. But not otherwise. Partially because she does need to investigate the Heralds. Partially because they cant risk losing another monarch so quickly.

Technically, a dictatorship is great. It has the potential to be a lot more effective. The problem tends to be that power corrupts, and dictators tend to look out for themselves. Furthermore, why should one person get to make the calls? We are equal, so that doesnt make sense, which is why we have democracy. I think Wits point is Alethkar is close to disaster, and the Highprinces are squabbling and looking out for themselves. Thus, they need a man like Dalinar who is just and can make good calls. Does that mean that Dalinars leadership can be justified, if we look at it with the lens that we have today? No. Dalinar is a former warlord, usurped a throne and rules without the mandate of the masses. But right now, he is Roshars best option. I think that the bottom line is wether it is okay to have a tyrant, if that tyrant is our best hope for salvation. And that is a very complex philosophical question, which has been debated for centuries.

I think Jasnah stays in Urithiru. She has to rule, and investigate Taln. Maybe hunt Mraize as well for good measure. But I doubt that she goes out into the field until maybe the climax. And I would love a Highprince POV. That sounds more like an Interlude though. Maybe one from Aladar when he is defending some half-important location from Voidbringers?
