I like this idea. What if Nale and Kalak were attempting to play Gavilar? After all, there is a pretty developed theory that they helped orchestrate the assassination, and Nale most certainly knows of the Sons of Honor. Nale and Kalak might just be there talking to Gavilar in order to spy on him.

Jake Gyllenhaal for Kelsier. Far From Home convinced me that that would be utterly awesomemazing.

Best main POV Character?
Toaster Retribution replied to That Violin Guy's topic in Stormlight Archive
The objectively best POV is Axies. However, he is not a main character, so I’ll vote Dalinar. His OB arc is one of the best things I have read. -
I have found Eshonai flashbacks a strange and uninteresting prospect since OB. Much rather focus on building Venlis character, and giving us juicy Cosmere stuff.
-
I think there is an old WoB that says Rock will have a POV section eventually. I think this would be a great fit for that. As such I’ll say that he is Group 2. I agree with OP about Kaladin, Adolin, Venli, Moash in group 1. I think Szeth might be likely, but I doubt Brandon wants to drop the interaction between Adolin and Shallan in this book, so I suspect she will be group 1 too. But what of Szeth? I propose that he goes with Rock, probably as a KR reinforcement. That makes sense from another perspective too: Vivenna was heading there as well. Thus, we will get a confrontation between her and Nightblood in this book. Group 3 is Dalinar and Jasnah. Navani will probably get a POV here somewhere too, for good measure. Also, will there be an Interlude novella? In that case, I am going to throw in Nale as a candidate. That would be utterly fascinating. Ash, Taln, Vasher, Rysn and Lift are other possibilities. Mraize would be great too.

The beginning of something much larger
Toaster Retribution replied to Nathrangking's topic in Creator's Corner
@Nathrangking Sorry for taking long. But I got to reading it, and you really succeeded in setting up an air of confusion and chaos. The good thing about that is that it is intriguing, but at least for me, that intriguingness (not a word, I know) is harmed by the fact that it is too confusing for me to connect to. I think you need to start establishing the mans character and the backstory and the worldbuilding at least a little bit, to avoid a scenario where it is too chaotic. Then, and this is my personal preference, I am a very straightforward ”action and dialogue” guy. When I write stuff, I generally not spend a lot of time on description, whereas you spend a lot of time on it. It really gives the text a great feel, but I disconnect a little bit on so much descriptive text. Again, just personal preference (I have the same problem with Tolkien and Jordan, so you are in good company ). Good luck with continuing the story, and above else, write what you want to write in the way you want to write it.- 109 replies

The Shattering - A Colossal Theory
Toaster Retribution replied to Wander89's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I do believe that Hoid will be the ultimate Cosmere villain, and it wouldn’t surprise me that he would want to bring back someone to life. He loved his dead master, who he named himself after. So yeah, good theory. Upvote! -
Endowment could very well become an antagonist, however I doubt she will be an outright villain. She might attempt to stop Shards from cooperating for example, or attempt to stop whatever Hoid is up to.

Nale and Dalinar. Both are awesome, for different reasons. Who is Warren?

Romance you hope will happen?

Pretty sure that Chaos is generally okay with necroing as long as they contribute to the actual thread in question. -
I imagine him a bit like Aidan Gillens Littlefinger voice in GoT.

How would Brandon write without letters? That would be a horrible day. -
Minor Characters you want to see promoted
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yay, Pathfinder, my Amaram bro! I think you read the thing about Coreb wrong. Kaladin wants one of his own men to have the Blade, and out of the remaining ones, Coreb was the most skilled. That does not mean that Coreb is more skilled than Amaram. I would argue that it is likely that Amaram is the better fighter, but that is beside the point. Kaladin doesn’t consider Coreb the best fighter around, just the best of those he commands. As for the second point, it is quite likely that people would assume Amaram stole the Shards, even if Kaladin gave them to him. I dont think Amaram is wrong in that aspect. Also, again, it is not necessarily so that Amaram considers Kaladin to be a better warrior than him (after all, Amaram was quite the powerhouse in OB, when fighting a fully powered, experienced and non-depressed Kaladin, despite having his body torn apart and being entirely unexperienced with all his new powers). He would just see Kaladin as a warrior of great skill. Furthermore, having plate for two days before giving them back to the one you got them from wouldnt really be that fun. I dont think that Amaram did it just for the glory. I actually think that he wanted the Shards without harming his reputation, and claiming the glory was the best way to go to achieve that. I dont have WoK right now, so I cant provide quotes, but it seemed to me that Amaram was quite triggered about the fact that Kaladin rejected Shards and just gave them away, as if he didnt see their full value I think that fact was a part of his decision, along with his lust for glory and power, and Restares convincing. -

Agreed. Amaram is a character with huge potential. And I think you are right about the last part. Amaram must have seen Kaladins worth as a warrior, and if he had Shards he would be very valuable. -

I read it, and found it mysterious, like people have said. You might want to check grammar, commas and spelling in some parts though. Good work Nathrang!- 109 replies

Fair enough. I would argue that my original price is good if he were to go on sale though.

Odium is worth about three sapphire broams and one fishstick. Just replying to the title of the thread.

I think Axies should get to be king of everything. If they dont want to roll with that, I think they should go with the following: Alethkar - Jasnah. She is the queen, and will be a good one in a lot of ways. I do hope that she wont be perfectly brilliant at it, as that would be boring. Jah Keved - Redin the Bastard. Whenever Mr T is dealt with. Azir - Gawx. No point in killing him off, so he’ll remain as king. Horneaters - Rock. He will have an arc for this in the next book I think. Thaylenah - Probably Fen. I could see her die though (she is old, so her not being around after 5 is kinda likely). After her they will probably go Rysn or whatever her son was called (Thaylen names are hard!). Third option: Mraize takes the throne. Herdaz - Defenitely Herdazian Houdini. Defenitely not Lopen. He has to earn it, in that case. Singers - I have a feeling that it wont be Venli, but we will see. Rlain or Thude are possible. Or Mraize just usurps the throne (I think he can usurp a lot of thrones, given the chance). Purelake - I like Ishikk, and I hope we see him again, but he doesnt feel like a leader to me. He tries to avoid getting married. Defenitely not the guy who wants a throne. I don’t think he’d be good at it either. He should fish. If anyone could find a Shardfish to kill Odium with, it would be Ishikk (I will start theorycrafting this at once). So for the Purelake, someone random. Or Mraize just usurps it. Tukar - I doubt Ishar will ally with anyone. It would be cool if it continues to be ruled by a Herald though, so I nominate Taln and Ash. We also hav Karbranth. I can see Redin taking this. Or one of Taravangians children. He seems to have a lot of them. I also feel like Pattern has earned a country, so he can get Tu Bayla.

Moash-Vyre, what’s in store for him?
Toaster Retribution replied to Benedictify's topic in Stormlight Archive
Skybreakers aren’t evil or dark though. They are very different from Windrunners, but have always been the good guys. Sure, they are Team Odium now, but that is because they are following a madman who is following another madman. The Skybreaers have fallen victim to their own rigidity when it comes to following. I do think that the idea of Moash taking up Odium is pretty nice. I doubt he picks up Honor though. Just doesnt feel right to me. Also, pulling the same ”merging-Shards-move” in his two major Cosmere series feels like a wierd choice for Brandon to make. Personally, I think Moash will end up as a street vendor selling chouta.- 12 replies

I subscribe to the Rysn - Dustbringer theory. Partially because I love Rysn and Dustbringers, partially because it would be super-cool. I also think that brave and obedient fits Rysn pretty well. I don’t really think that pious or guiding are attributes connected to her. Characters like Rock or Navani fits that much better. That said, requesting a bond with the Nightwatcher is a super cool idea, which I hadn’t thought of. I really, really hope that happens.
