Warbreaker movie casting (dream list) *spoilers*
Toaster Retribution replied to BreathTaker's topic in Warbreaker
My new cast: -Lightsong - Chris Hemsworth. He has the right physique, and is a great actor for comedy, but can also sell really dramatic stuff. -Denth - Chris Evans. Very likeable, can do a fun, charming guy. Usually plays good guys, and would work well for Denths twist in that regard. -Vasher - Idris Elba. Great in anything he does. Can play gruff, but somehow likeable. -Siri - Angourie Rice. Is the right age, and her role in Spider-Man shows that she can do a similar personality to Siri. -Susebron - Tye Sheridan. He looks the part and could pull off the innoncence of him. -Vivenna - Olivia Cooke. Could do the serious parts of the character well. Could also portray her more chill personality well. -Nightblood - Iwan Rheon. His voice would be perfect for Nightblood. He can do scary but cheerful at the same time. -Bluefingers - Rowan Atkinson. He can be really funny, but also really stressed out. No one would see him being evil coming, because everyone loves him. Bonus points for being british. -Llarimar - Conleth Hill. He looks the part, and can probably play it too. A very good actor. -Tonk Fah - John Cena. Is big, strong and can pull off likeable in the beginning, and menacing at the end. -Parlin - Freddie Highmore. Could defenitely sell his innocence.- 99 replies

(OB) Most Disliked Stormlight Character
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Mraize might be one of the most hated characters after SA4/5. He seems to be a pretty evil person, but just hasnt had the screen-time to show it. I really like him though. He is a cool character. -
Let's Discuss the Skybreakers.
Toaster Retribution replied to Daughter of Tanavast's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Skybreakers are one of my favorite orders. They have a cool name, a great Herald, one of the most badass of powersets, and are incredibly interesting from a morality standpoint too. If you want to understand Skybreakers better, I would recommen rereading Szeth in OB. I feel like the Skybreakers is, in a way, the most diverse order, since they can theoretically follow Odium or Kaladin, and still be true to their oaths. I think that they are a commentary on following others, especially laws, and how that might not at all times be the best thing to do. -
Ishar/Tezim has been set up since WoK, and I feel like that is a conflict that belongs in the front five, at least partially. So will we see Ishar and Sesemalex Dar in book 4? Or is it a 5 thing? Or am I wrong about where it fits into the story, and we wont get it until book 6?

Ben Foster for Fain is excellent casting in my mind.

What happens between book III and book IV?
Toaster Retribution replied to Oltux72's topic in Stormlight Archive
Dunno. Maybe May Aladar . Or it could be someone like a Davar brother, or maybe a Bridgeman. Just spitballing. I disagree here. There will be a LOT of Radiants. We have seen a lot of them already. That more didnt start bonding spren and go to Urithiru feels wierd, especially not the ones in Azir or other coalition countries. Like, no one i Azier started a spren-bond in one year? Feels like a stretch. So we will probably have a couple more Windrunners, Truthwatchers, Edgedancers, etc. Most of these will probably be redshirts, existing to show that the KR were many, and that they can be killed. Fair enough. Yeah, I know a lot of people dont find this likely. But it makes perfect sense to me. Yeah, that might have been too bold... -

I imagine Szeth is quite happy in jail. He seems to be in peace as long as he trusts the people he follows. I can see him just wandering in there and locking himself up, while being rather pleased with himself. I just love Szeth. Would be fun if Nale just went in there to free him. Anyway, my predictions: -Some logistical stuff, like military personell and camps will have been placed out over the map. I can see Aladar being off leading men for example. -More Radiants will have arrived at Urithiru. I could see Stump arriving for example. Radiant training will be up and running. -They will have a Kholin-friendly Sadeas highprince established. -Some skirmishes will have happened. Leshwi might have died a couple more times. -Also, bold prediction, but I think Shallan and Adolin will have a kid. Brandon needed some time to have things progress in-world, and I think this might be it. -Less bold prediction: all characters will have aged about one year. -May Aladar will still not be relevant. -
Is Kaladin made in part of tanavastium?
Toaster Retribution replied to Ripheus23's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, he is referred to as Son of Tanavast, which is significant. -
Axies' beggar a herald?
Toaster Retribution replied to Captain Kaladin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Axies could be Herald of Chill though. Just sayin. -

Man, Brandon really loves the Sistine Chapel. -
(OB) Most Disliked Stormlight Character
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Welcome to the forums! Hope to see you around :-) I agree with you regarding Lift. She is annoying at times and her jokes dont really work for me. I look forward to her adult arc though. As for Shallan, I think a lot of folks were frustrated with her arc in OB, feeling that it was drawn out and without a proper ending. -
Axies' beggar a herald?
Toaster Retribution replied to Captain Kaladin's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would believe this if it wasnt for the case that we know where all the male Heralds are: -Nale is killing Radiants and making badly informed decisions thanks to Ishar. -Ishar is ruling Tukar while informing Nales bad decisions and writing threatening letters to Dalinar. -Kalak is presumably the guy partying with Nale in the prologues. We dont have that confirmed though, but, yeah. If the beggar is a Herald, it has to be Kalak, but I doubt it. -Jezrien took up begging, but in Kholinar. He later took a dagger to the chest in the scene that made everyone love Moash. -Taln is currently with Ash, in whatever place Jasnah keeps them. I do think the beggar might be significant though. The entire Axies interlude is very wierd, probably the wierdest we have had. -
Ethnicities of the Heralds
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, but that is kinda what I want to figure out. What they look like. -
The Heralds are kind of wierd. Ash is dark skinned, as is Nale and Taln. But Kalak is more Alethi looking, it seems, and Ishar looks like a Shin. So what do you think the other Heralds look like? And is there a pattern to it?

Stormlight 4 Readings and Info
Toaster Retribution replied to Pagerunner's topic in Stormlight Archive
There are a couple different theories on him. I think Stoneward and Dustbringer are the popular ones. I’m thinking Dustbringer, based off this WoB: Questioner Any new Dustbringers in Stormlight Four? Brandon Sanderson Yes, there will be. -
Thanks for the info!

Will Mraize hunt Jasnah?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
You cant say that Dalinar succeeded with his goal because he failed a bit less than most people expected him too. Jasnah indirectly saved her entire family, a couple of Radiants and a huge part of the Alethkar armies (and Mraize). I think she finds that more important than research that didnt go anywhere. -
Quite self explanatory, dont you think? I’ll start: 1. Kelsier - My favorite character ever. He is complex, funny, charismatic and cool. He has great plot twists too. 2. Meridas Amaram - Most people probably knows that I really like Amaram. I find him interesting, and I am also quite attached to him since I have spent so much time defending him. 3. Pattern - Pattern is the best spren, the most hilarious character, and should get to rule over everything. Period. 4. Mraize - I have a thing for villains. Mraize is cool, and very intriguing. I am defenitely interested in where he ends up. 5. Vivenna - A very nice character, with an interesting power-set and a great arc in Warbreaker. Really enjoyed her in OB. 6. Dalinar Kholin - A fantastic character. From an objective standpoint he might be Brandons best. He has the best arc in any Cosmere book in OB in my opinion. 7. Nale - I am fascinated by his obsession with laws and his flawed justice. 8. Taln - Because he is Taln. 9. Jenet - An incredibly insignificant character, but I loved her scene in WoR a ton. And I often get very attached to minor characters over major ones. 10. Marsh Ironeyes - He is just an incredibly cool guy, with an interesting arc. Bonus points for being an Inquisitor. They are pretty badass. I love a ton of other characters, but these are my ten. What are yours? And you dont need to write why you like them if you dont want too.

Controversial Opinions
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Oh, this is real controversial. GoT season 8 was okay, and had some stuff that was really good. Theons ending, Beric Dondarrion, Eurons end, Bronns scenes, the lead up to the Battle of Winterfell, Jorahs ending and certain dialogue scenes were all really good. Oh, and Into the Spider-Verse is good but overrated. Far From Home was much better. Also, Palpitoad is the best Pokemon and Charizard is boring. -
Will Mraize hunt Jasnah?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
If it werent for Jasnahs research, Dalinar would have brought his parshmen to Narak and Shallan probably wouldnt have found the Oathgate. So Jasnahs research basically saved everyone. I’ll give you that Kaladin won, but Dalinar failed in two main objectives: he didnt stop the Voidbringers and he didnt unite the Highprinces. -
Will Mraize hunt Jasnah?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Everyone lost at the end of WoR. That isn’t specific for Jasnah. And while her intel was outdated, it was certainly not useless. It did help her get Ash and Taln for example.
