Compliment the person above you!
Toaster Retribution replied to Delightful's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
You have a cool avatar, from a great (delightful) movie :-D -
The POV you mean? Moash seems to be a likely candidate, given that Brandon said part 2 would be lore and character heavy, and feature people in different parts on Roshar. Moash is travelling with Graves, probably to Jah Keved, meaning we will get some information on the Diagram and Jah Keved, as well as character development for Graves and Moash. Fits very well. I doubt it will be Ialai. She will no doubt have significance for Dalinar/Adolin but she doesnt really fit the description of part 2. Her POV would probably be more plot focused, with her plotting (no pun intended) how to take down the Kholins/avenge her husband (R.I.P Sadeas).

There has been, in more than one thread. Here is one, anyway, concerning Eshonai and Moelach:
-
That video game logic is hard to beat (though AC is also the game where you cant kill people with a spiked club). However, it is possible that Nohadon received information before nobody was there to notice. We dont know when he became king, and it is possible that he learned something before the Desolation came in full power, and everything got destroyed.
-
He wrote the Way of Kings and the passage came from that, accoording to OP :-) This is all true, but I do want to point out that as a king, Nohadon should have more information than most. And also, rumors can spread like wildfire.
-
Maybe Cultivation/Honor took the appearance of a shining light on the sky once? And this is a leftover.
-
Accoording to Coppermind, there is an Unmade named Re-Shephir aka the Midnight Mother. Maybe Nohadon mixed up the names. For some reason, I just feel like the Unmade should have something to do with death. Another thing I just thought of: shouldn't Nohadon know stuff about the Nightwatcher that we dont? Which means, if common theories (or is it even confirmed?) that Nightwatcher is a Bondsmith spren are true, then Nohadon should know this, since he lived during a Desolation, when there were Radiants. Someone should have had a bond with Nightwatcher, and Nohadon should be aware that she is not a goddrss of death or anything similar.

This sounds cool, and I like it. Part of why I like it is that there are relatively few others it makes sense for. Kaladin, Adolin and Dalinar feel far too honorable. Eshonai feels like "the good Voidbringer" and will probably join the Kholins sooner or later. Besides, it could be seen as too predictable. Jasnah is to invested in saving Roshar. Szeth with Night lood feels like he is pointed in a different direction. Lift... I dont think Odium would want his champion to wield a Shardfork (Hoid would probably find hilarious though). Shallan... my gut says no. That pretty much leaves Renarin and Taln, unless a smaller character, like Moash or Amaram will take up the mantle (I doubt that). Taln feels like the perfect twist, that few will see coming, yet completely logical, right there under our noses. Upvote, @Calderis!
-
Wouldnt Lift just be an Interlude though? She wont have significant page time until Stormlight 6, I think. But I might be wrong.
-
I think Brandon said in that Sigzil would get a POV, so that might be Part 2. Some fun bridgemen scenes without Kaladin, and lore, due to him being a worldsinger. Also @maxal why do you hate the chart? @Storming Radiant the books are always divided in parts. Part one of WoK has Kaladin and Shallan as POVs, Part 2 has Kal, Dalinar and Adolin and so on. And between them are the Interludes. That is what he is referring to.

I am pretty sure that all of them require celibacy (again, I hope this is the correct english word), and I think I would prefer having a family :-)

Ask me anything! (But only if you want answers).

Very important question: do you like beavers? -
I would say no to that. I have been in church for my soon to be 18-year old life, and I have never heard of that before. There are different orders (I think that is the english name for them) and if you want, you can join one of them, but it is not in any way necessary. Most catholics I know are just catholics, and nothing more, as far as I'm aware.

I'm catholic (in Sweden, which is fun, since we are one of the most secular countries in the world). I was raised that way, and I'm pretty sure I will stay catholic for the rest of my life as well.

You are knowledgeable (thats a word, right?) and aleays behaves nicely towards everyone. And you are pretty good at digging too. -
I'll give it a go: A Game of Thrones: A Clash of Kings: A Storm of Swords A Feast for Crows: A Dance with Dragons Warbreaker WoK: WoR:
-
I guess you could have either a lot of people digging with Shardshovels, or you just dig in the planets core, or something (although trying to dig at a planet core would pose a lot of other interesting problems). Seeing as the planet-spiking spike has to be planet sized, I think that you would turn the unfortunate guy you attempt to spike into a bloody, and very dead, mess.
-
Do we know that it was simple curiosity? Greatshells are strange creatures, and might have something to do with Cosmere-related stuff (gemhearts).
-
Can someone please tell Brandon to include a shardshovel in a book?
-
I feel like Handerwyms language doesnt really match up to the way Hoid usually speaks. Also, I strongly doubt that Hoid dedicates several years to following blowhard Jak around for no reason... It is a good find, but I doubt its true.
-
Speaking of Interludes, what about those characters? I can see Rysn becoming a Radiant, but I doubt Axies will be one (can Aimians even be Radiants)? Also, Shallans brothers. Balat, maybe?

Speaking of shardshovels...

This is actually pretty fun, because it is so correct. Kelsier does a whole lot of worse stuff. Secret History spoilers:

Shardic Intent and the Vessel's Personality
Toaster Retribution replied to The One Who Connects's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Trying to destroy Ruin could technically go along with Preservations intent, since it was done in order to preserve. In fact, since Ruin is the personification of the end, destroying him would, in a way, be the ultimate act of preservation. My take on the Shards and their intents have always been that their intents affects their personalities, but that the personalities also affects the intent. For example, Preservation would be different if Rayse had held it. I think there is a WoB that states that Ruin could have been much worse, which I feel goes in line with my idea of this. -
Am I the only one who thinks Billy Crudup could make a good Ruin. I seem to recall Ruins voice being fatherly, and Crudup kind of gives me that feel as well. In addition, he is a good actor, and could probably be menacing if given the chance.
