Honors vessel is named Tanavast, as Calderis said. Odiums is named Rayse. We know Cultivation is female, but Brandon has not been ready to share her name with us yet.

You can order them from his store. Oathbringer isnt availible there yet, but I guess pre-order will be up closer to release.

Brandon has updated his progress bar, and added Apocalypse Guard, which is already at 9%! Hype!

True. It might be that the secret is what destroys the aimians, and Shallan learning of it ends up with them all dead. Maybe she can be both redeemer and destroyer, if she finds out about the secret, which accidentally leads to their destruction, but also learns of the thing that redeems them.

As cool as it would be, I doubt it would happen. He seems to be more concerned about Scadrial right now, and I doubt he knows enough about Roshar to have an interest in going there. If we are going to get one Scadrial character (not counting the 17th Shard ones) my bet would be:

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Nightblood. A well placed coin could still drop Szeth though, and with atium, there is a chance for her to just headshot him before he manages to draw it.

Stormlight could be a MMO in the vein of WoW. Also, a MOBA with Cosmere characters would be awesome.

I think I know of the one you are talking about, but Im still not convinced :-)

I am considering ordering a signed copy from Brandons website, but I live in Sweden, so I dont know how long it will take to get it shipped, or how much money it would cost me. I might just get it at a local bookstore otherwise.

I think that having Kaladin as the Destroyer would be kind of unexpected, which, if executed right, would mean a good twist. However, I'm thinking that the only way that would work would be Kaladin ending up in a Taravangian situation, and has to choose between two bad things. And the bad thing he chooses will result in the death of the Aimians. However, I dont think Brandon will do this, since Kaladin is the most unexpected one, and therefore, in a way, the most predicted obe as well. Szeth is pretty much out too, given that he is the one everybody would naturally expect. I don't think he will do it. That basically leaves Shallan and Dalinar. I could see both doing it, but Im going to vote Dalinar (unless he dies in Oathbringer). He has the job of being in charge, and I could definitely see him thinking that the Aimians are of Odium, and needs to be wiped out for some reason. I could see him do that. Or Shallan. She is pretty much the wild card. She could be the redeemer though, if she finds an ancient script or something that tells of their actions. Would be cool if she finds that, races after Dalinar to stop him, but arrives too late. So my bet is: Redeemer: Shallan Destroyer: Dalinar On another note, do we think that this concerns all Aimians, or just the Dysians (Axies cant die... :-(

Maybe the baby is symbolism for Taln. He has come to the world recently, he has no general idea about what is going on, people take care of him, etc.

@Storming Radiant Here is the theory. Funny that you dont like Eshonai, because she is pretty involved in it.

MeLaan feels like the kind of character who would have an aluminium skeleton for bragging rights. No one can see it, sure, but I think that for MeLaan, the fact that she knows she has it is enough. And also, she might be showing it off among the other kandra.

If you were Brandon, what would you change?
Toaster Retribution replied to ICanDream's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I would probably remove some of the Kaladin saves the day scenes. Currently, he feels like Charizard in the Pokemon anime, who always shows up and does cool stuff, despite the fact that other characters also need to do cool stuff. Oh, and this is purely personal, but I would find a way to kill Spook, because I dislike him. Oh, and I would have made the ending of Calamity a bit longer, so we could -
These things are fun (maybe we should have a dedicated section for fight topics?) Anyway, since Shallan doesnt know how to use Transformation, she clears her. The four Shardbearers would all be easy meat. Kaladin and Szeth would be tougher, but not by much. With Atium+coins, she should kill both pretty easily. And as she did beat TLR with mist in Final Empire, she would do the same here. tl;dr: She clears all.

The morality of Adolin's actions
Toaster Retribution replied to WhiteLeeopard's topic in Stormlight Archive
Adolins fight scenes are for the most part more interesting, although Kaladins final fight with Szeth is pretty cool as well. And the training fight with Rock, Sigzil and Lopen is neat too, mostly for the comedy. I wouldnt really say that Adolin got trashed by Eshonai though. He bested her, after all. -
Historically, there have never been Parshendi Radiants. However, I found this WoB (paraphrased): So Syl says what she thinks is true, but she doesnt really have all the facts.

Who should get a novella?
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
The problem with Stormlight is that they are huge books, and hard to outline. Brandon has stated that he will do Mistborn Era. 3 in between, since they are pretty much outlined. He will probably squash something short in between too (Rithmatist, Dark One, Reckonerverse, maybe Nightblood). Point being, Brandon writes pretty quickly, as long as the books aren't too long, or too massive, which most of them aren't. Furthermore, WoR took longer because Brandon had to finish Wheel of Time, and for Oathbringer, he was delayed by Edgedancer, Szeths flashbacks, and different tours. So, I doubt we will have a real-life ten-fifteen year gap between 5 and 6. -
@The One Who Connects I have searched, but failed to find it. I think it is something I originally read in a Reddit thread, but as said, I didnt find anything. The closest I got was Brandon listing the 6-10 flashback people, and mentioning Taln last. However, this was probably just a random order, and not the actual one he will use. It might be that it was something like that I recalled, Brandon just namedropped the characters, Taln was last in order and I got it wrong. In any case, I sadly cant find it :-(

What is kinetic investiture?
-
Might I just ask, @The One Who Connects what is this mercantile theory? It sounds interesting.
-
I seem to recall it being said that Talns flashback book was to be the last one in the series, so if Taln being the champion of Odium is to be revealed through a flashback, then it will be one of the main/last twists in the series. I have a hard time seeing that, and I guess that if Taln is a traitor, we will know it before book 10.

The interpretation of the Oaths
Toaster Retribution replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
If I understand @Calderis correctly, then the spren are basically a second conscience, with the ability to speak. The thing the human thinks is right is what they think is right as well, but if the human feel that they are doing wrong, even if they dont want to admit it, the spren will tell them so. Does this in any way have something to do with human perception, since they are cognitive beings, or is it just because of Connection? -
He still has a bunch of things to learn. Love, for one, as Vin told him in SH. He can also deal with the fact that "nobles" still have greater power over the people, despite all he did during the Final Empire. The fact that he played around at being a god can also be something for him to deal with. Or, as you said, the protection of Scadrial against outside forces. Kelsier still has development to go through, and that would make his thoughts interesting to follow as well. There are a lot of possibilities for him to be an interesting POV. And also, Kelsiers internal dialouge adds to the entertainment.
-
I would disagree with this. Powerful people can have very interesting POVs. For example, being in Rasheks head would be very interesting, as we could see his fight with Ruin, how he felt about the empire he made, and onwards. Kelsier can be equally interesting, as long as he has conflict.
