I dont know how much focus will be put on commerce during the Desolation, but I guess that Sebarial will have something to do with the economics of Roshar further on.

Still seems stupid to give him the honorblade, for so many reasons. If we ignore their way of getting back the Honorblade, all the deaths and the fact that there only can beseven Truthless at the same time, we also have the fact that a Truthless might be commanded to kill the Stone Shamans. They dig their own grave, pretty much. Also, what if the Heralds return, and all the Honorblades are gone? What would the Shin elders say to Jezrien and Co? "Sorry guys, we gave your almighty magical superswords to a bunch of criminals despite knowing that they probably would kill millions of innocent people in the nations that you died several times to protect." This sounds like Suicide Squad.

You could wait a bit, an see if WoR comes to the library. If it doesnt, you buy it. And Oathbringer is in November, so you might be able to save enough money until then.

Also, speaking of audiences who understand, this really isnt one. Witless is the only thing you understand. That said, if you want something more advanced, here you go: Your jokes makes Nale look fun by comparision. You make Torol Sadeas appear beautiful, you make Straff Venture seem smart, and you wipe the smile off Kelsiers face. Hoid would never mock you, because it would be too simple for him. Bavadin is scared of the thought of you accidentally worshipping her. If you were in a book, Jasnah would burn it.

We know that one Honorblade was taken from the Shin, aside from the one that Szeth had. The only one we know of who might have retrieved a Honorblade would be Ash. Out of those, Nale seems more likely. Btw, has anyone asked Brandon wether Heralds can form Nahel bonds or not? Would be a good thing to ask otherwise.

You guys are all witless. A drunk cremling would be more clever.

A little theory on Heleran
Toaster Retribution replied to Did Someone Say Kill Evil?'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
I find it interesting that so many Skybreakerspren has chosen to return to the humans, while the other spren are doing things more slowly. But it might be because of Nale, as you say. -
A little theory on Heleran
Toaster Retribution replied to Did Someone Say Kill Evil?'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
My point is basically to ask: can Nale make people into Surgebinders. Considering what is in Edgedancer, and that Helaran knew of Surgebinding, while also seeking out the Skybreakers. Because if Nale had a way to grant Skybreaker surges to people, that could explain why Helaran was thought to be capable of learning Shallan surges. I find this quite unlikely myself, but do have similar stuff in Mistborn, so... yeah. -
The quoting system and the magic system are both very complex things... So, here is what I dont get : do every person have a Resonance unique to them. Just as an example to make my question clearer: Amaram wakes up one morning as a Lightweaver. Would he have the same memory perk as Shallan, or would it be something different for him?

A little theory on Heleran
Toaster Retribution replied to Did Someone Say Kill Evil?'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
Even if Helaran didnt have a nahel bond or a navel bond (both unlikely), or a honorblade (impossible) it is still interesting that he was considered to be able to teach Shallan about Surgebinding. I am also very interested in the Skybreakers. Edgedancer spoiler: So Helaran is kind of mysterious. Mraize apparently did some digging. I am interested in his findings. -
Shallan was pretty adamant about not being tied to anyone while on the Shattered Plains (so adamant that she took an, in my opinion, stupid risk to evade it). I can defenitely see how she would like to continue being unattached to someone, and work on her own. At the same time, she does like Adolin, and if she is associated with him, she might have a hard time to stay away from being part of the Kholin family. And also, Dalinar seems to be chosen as the leader of the Radiants, so Shallan might end up bowing to him after all. Of course, Shallan might question Dalinars leadership, if she feels that he makes bad decisions. I would guess that she obeys him as long as it doesnt interfere with her own will or her own goals.

Or it is Vivenna. Storms guys, we might have found where she is!

Even though I dont want Graves to be someone else, I want to point out that when he introduces himself to Kaladin he says: "call me Graves" Now, I am from Sweden, so I dont know wether this is a normal way of introducing yourself in the english language. But to me the "call me" makes it sound like Graves could be a nickname/false name of some sort. Someone who knows English better than me to comment on this?
-
Amaram has his own motives. I would not really call him a Dalinar supporter. He likes Dalinar, but he is working for someone else. I dont see why Graves has to be someone else. First off, do we know for a fact that his shards are unregistered? And even if they are, it is possible that he is just a random guy named Graves, who happens to have shards?

Aesudan Kholin, Theories and Speculations
Toaster Retribution replied to Gavin-son-son-Odegard's topic in Stormlight Archive
Awesome theory dvoraen (upvote)! It got me thinking: Since Restares is the leader of the Sons of Honor, he would be a pretty religious dude, since the SoH basically are fanatics. If Aesudan is the type of person that always has been easily affected, it is no stretch to assume that a fanatical father made her worry about displeasing the Almighty ,which might be why she wants all those ardents around to tell her how good she is. It might even be that Restares has tasked his daughter with doing certain things, and threatened her with the wrath of the Almighty to make her do them more quickly. We also dont really know how much info Jasnah had a bout the societies before Gavilars party (she had not been to Shadesmar before then anyway). But she doesnt like Amaram for some reason, so she might have known about him, Restares and the Sons of Honor, and thus, guessed that Aesudan was the puppet of Restares, which is why she wants her removed. Aesudan being easily affected also explains how an Unmade could manipulate her (I dont think it was Odium directly, an Unmade seems more likely).- 108 replies

Movie Adaption of the Way of Kings
Toaster Retribution replied to Nashan’Elin's topic in Stormlight Archive
PG-13 would not be hard to do. LotR, Hobbit and Star Wars are all PG-13 or lower I believe (I live in Sweden so I am not completely sure). They are all good movies, and they do not suffer that much from the age limit. -

If this is true, he might like pizza with fish sticks. Its very good actually. -
Just noticed the similarities in the names of Bavland and Bavadin. Coincidence? Probably. Still, just thought I'd mention it, since we know that Bavadin has influence in a number of places. I remember Tyn and Shallan talkibg about bavlanders sounding like they have rocks in their mouths, and sand is technically small rocks. And who is the shard of Taldain? Bavadin. I dont believe this myself, but Im throwing it out for the fun of it. If someone can find something about wierd religions in Bavland, that would be kind of interesting though.

We have a lot of secret organizations in Stormlight. Sons of Honor, Diagram, Ghostbloods... question is: do we have a character who we think is a member of one of these, in secret? Who, in that case?

Sanderson "Would you Rather"

Wayne or Jasnah. More entertaining. Would you rather try to chop of Kelsiers toes in his sleep, or get into a sword fight with Denth?- 954 replies

Im hoping Elhokar. I think it could be interesting, when it comes to both character, and plot. -
Movie Adaption of the Way of Kings
Toaster Retribution replied to Nashan’Elin's topic in Stormlight Archive
True, about Rebels. If you look at Clone Wars however, that had some more adult-themed stuff (Boba as a child almost being forced to shoot a captive in the head, for example). But my point was to show that things aimed at kids can appeal to adults as well, and be enjoyable in their eyes. An anime would not be geared solely towards an asian market. There are animes which have done well in the west as well. But I see your point, and I am not very keen on an anime either. Dont like the style very much. Im 100% with you on GoT-style TV-show. -
Movie Adaption of the Way of Kings
Toaster Retribution replied to Nashan’Elin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Just because it is animated doesn't make it a childish cartoon. There are plenty of great animated series, which can be enjoyed by adults and kids alike (Star Wars Rebels). The problem with an animated series, however, is that it could be hard to market. Either you turn it into a show targeted at kids, but still with some darker content. I am not fond of this idea (it is one of the bad things with stuff like Clone Wars). The other thing you can do is target it at adults, but I think that a lot of adults doesn't want to watch animated, because they think it's for kids. Making an anime of it could be possible though, and that market is not that small. It could be a hit in Japan or China. Personally, I would prefer a Game of Thrones style TV-adaption, because I like seeing real actors running around. A cinematic movie would be hard to do though.
