You are very correct in this. What I meant was not that Adolin, Amaram and Elhokar, or someone else for that matter, could not have an entire arc. I just said that going too big is dangerous. But there are room for a wider focus. And I think that we will see it widen a bit as the story progresses. In the next book, we will have POV from Kaladin and Szeth, both out on their own journeys, plus Dalinar, Shallan and Adolin in Urithiru. We may get more branching plot lines, different POVs and things going on at different locations as the story develops. After all, in the first two WoT books there were pretty few major POVs. Rand, Perrin, Egwene and Nynaeve were the major ones, with occasional POVs from other characters, such as Min or Moiraine. Why do you feel a heroic sacrifice would ruin Kaladins character. After all, he is all about protection. SPOILERS FOR MISTBORN:

Yeah, Brandon tends to focus on a smaller cast. While I hope he expands so that characters like Adolin, Amaram, Elhokar and others can get full arcs, there is a danger in going to big, like WoT and ASoIaF has proven. He killed a bunch of people in Mistborn who he said he liked, and he also killed a major character in Warbreaker. All of these without revival. I think Kaladin may die, but it will be during a grand climax in which he makes a huge sacrifice and does something important.

The trick is too vary who gets to save the day. Sometimes Kaladin can do it, sometimes Dalinar, sometimes Adolin, or someone else. That way, no one is overused and we wont know for a fact that a certain character will win. Or Brandon could pull a GRRM and kill Kaladin unexpectedly during a fight.

I enjoy TenSoon a lot more when is a side character tbh. Wax takes this for me. He is a bit like RDJ version of Sherlock Holmes, without the more... extreme comic relief that character has.

I dont like Syl much. She is kind of irritating sometimes, and appears too childish for my taste. I also find Kaladin annoying. I understand that his character is about saving, and I like the fact that he grew up as a surgeon, and has a hard time letting go. But he has gone a bit too far with saving the day pretty much all the time (there are some exceptions, but mainly, he is the hero of everything). It feels a bit like Charizard in the Pokemon Anime, who, in periods, always gets the spotlight (I DONT like Charizard). So if Kaladin started to be a bit more sidelined sometimes, so that Dalinar, Adolin etc, could do stuff as well, my main issue with his character would be solved. Also, as stated in another thread, I like Amaram a lot.

Shallan. Funny, has a very sad backstory. I dont like Renarin much.

Dalinar. Syl is irritating sometimes, while Dalinar is a great character.

Szeth. Never liked Susebron. Question is who would take it in a fight? I´d be willing to go with Szeth there as well. Blade + healing + lashing feels like it culd beat Susebrons walking wardrobe.

Adolin. Have not read Emperors Soul, but I doubt Shai would beat him for me. I love his character, his coolness, insecurities, and relationships. He is awesome, and there is no denying it.

There are people who are brought back to life in the Cosmere. Szeth, is an example. There is also a theory that the afterlife will become important in later Stormlight books, and we will have POVs from the characters there. Sazed also talked about eventually learning to put souls back into bodies. Is anyone else than me worried that death will lose its sting in the Cosmere? That it wont matter as much, because we just get afterlife POVs, or revivals?

Jasnah would win in a fight, but I like Lopen more, so I vote Lopen.

Cody. In an one-on-one, Mr T cant do much against him. Diagram is not an automatic win. And also, I like Cody better.

Axies takes this easily for me. I like FE Sazed, but otherwise he was kind of meh, although his religious struggles were interesting. Axies is one of the funniest characters in the Cosmere. I love his calm attitude towards everything. He is one of my favorite Sanderson characters.

Gaz, because it would be sad if he went down with zero votes.

I give it to Breeze. I prefer him as a character. He is funny, and I like his real name. Spook, meanwhile, is one of my least favorite Sanderson characters. I think he became too competent too quickly for my taste, as he irritated me during HoA. Spook would definitely take Breeze down in combat though, but since I judge based on who I like, this goes to the Soother.

Nightblood. He is much more interesting than Vasher, with his whole "destroy evil" thing. Vasher is not as unique, and not as funny.

I will vote based on who I like the most, but also write down who I think would win in a fight, for additional fun. I vote Marsh here. I love that he is one Of the most badchull characters in the Cosmere, and he is an interesting character I would love to see more of. Lift is funna, but she is not enough to best Marsh. In a fight, Marsh would win as well. He has all/most allomantical and feruchemical powers, and is extremely hard to kill. Lift cant match that.

Id like it now as well.

I believe he said this on Twitter. I can try to find it if you wish. About old Gavilar, we will probably see him in Dalinars flashbacks, and if the afterlife is explored, I could see him being rather major. I can also buy the Taln theory.
