  1. As promised, my questions: Here are the deeply Realmatical questions these are a bit more casual
  2. That's mostly hearsay. The only source we have about such thing is this, and it is highly paraphrased:
  3. In hindsight, maybe I should have gone with another question... cross-magic stuff is a RAFO minefield. I will try again after Stormlight 4. I am honestly surprised with his answer about the 5th Heightening. I was expecting kind of an opposite answer. The Dysians are about what I expected. Feeling is mutual, mate
  4. Wasn't it a sacred place of Sand Masters?
  5. I'll post a list of my questions here later, after I go over it and check if it's up to date I hope they'll be interesting enough so that some of you may feel compelled to ask some of them...
  6. Steal, of course. Where did you think we get all our spikes from?
  7. Okay. Shrugs No need for subtlety then. Stabs with a spike
  8. I disagree. First of all, humans did not necessarily brought Odium with them: I believe that bacteria symbiosis magic is only now, and have not been there before the cataclysm. I think Cultivation fueled the Ashyn Surgebinders, and without Honor and his restrictions... we know how it ended. Now Cultivation mostly pulled out of Ashyn, and the remnants of her are causing the bacteria symbiosis magic. I think that why Odium wants to kill humans is because of the deal the Shards have made. There is a win condition for Desolations, when H&C wins and Fused (and Heralds) go back to Braize. Then what is the win condition for Odium? Perhaps killing all that are not sided with him. Perhaps all humans. Perhaps everyone. Who knows. I think that Odium got trapped by a deal he made with H&C (the Oathpact is a separate thing concerning Fused and Heralds). And if there is a deal, then that explains why Dalinar could have freed him from it.
  9. That's false. People have even been capable of stopping a Shardblade just by using their hands (famous Last Clap).
  10. @Mestiv's signature (correct me if I'm wrong) is like holding up a mirror. Everyone sees their own reflections. You are freely giving out this information, the only thing Mestiv does is like taking a look at people at the sidewalk and cross-referencing their style of clothing and facial features in some book he found to guess where you are from.
  11. This is the WoB you're looking for:
  12. It wouldn't work (or at least would be really hard to do) as Shardblades are already Invested (heavily) and so it would be hard to use one as a Hemalurgic spike.
  13. Actually... he worked in atium mine. Once he got some atium, the rest was easy. He probably picked up a few metals in the meantime, but everything boils down to atium.
  14. I don't think Brandon ever talked about this, but given what we know I'd say yes to both. After all, Shades are a variety of Cognitive Shadows, which are basically spren, and Nightblood can eat spren:
  15. I doubt Kelsier is just getting rid of these memories permanently. Duplicating memory is probably done by Compounding copper.
  16. This is already possible by coppermind medallions (like the coin that Wax taps at the end of BoM).
  17. I saw this in another topic: pewterdragging requires two things: supply of pewter and supply of water. Therefore, good combination would be Allomantic pewter + Feruchemical bendalloy.
  18. Always check the sources. Coppermind is not a primary source. Furthermore, sources for this informations are a signing report. They have not been yet updated with verbatim information from the transcripts we've done in Arcanum. But yeah, I should probably get around to rewriting that timeline sometime... maybe when I'll be updating mine. You're mixing two things now: yes, Nightblood is closer to Warbreaker than to Stormlight - which means that time period between Warbreaker and Nightblood is shorter than between Nigtblood and Stormlight. However, we know that Nightblood is the closest thing there is to Stormlight. That's why Shadows for Silence need to be before it. We only know they are much older than Sixth of the Dusk and that they "are contemporary with most of the books right now, not contemporary with all the stories in [Arcanum Unbounded]". Take that as you will.
  19. Why? It has nothing to do with intent. You burn aluminum, you get cleansed of Investiture. This is not quite right. Duraluminum does not use up everything in an "instant". No, while it does speed up burning, the effect is far from instantaneous. We see this in WoA and HoA, when our Mistborns burn duralumin. The duralumined metals last for a few seconds - which by definition is not instant. Therefore it's quite likely that duralumin can only compress this much. So more metal would give you more time with superflare. But we have never seen someone with duralumin accomplish things that are possible by someone at Mistpoint (tapping so much nicrosil they start to emit mist). Pushing on trace metals, for example.
  20. You are clearly confusing things here. Feruchemical nicrosil is here to provide a huge amount of Allomantic power, easily far above effects of burning duralumin or being Nicrobursted. Nobody is tapping aluminum here, either. It's burned, which has the same effects on yourself as if you were Leeched (perhaps it's even stronger as you are the one doing it and not someone else trying to influence you).
