Yes, you'd have to burn your way through the outer layer first: But... I don't see any reason to. Burning your way through so much gold would be unpleasant and the advantage is pretty much non-existent. Not to mention the fact that, well, gold is expensive... Brandon actually addresed such ideas of forgoing metal vials: Basically, it boils down to being way too impractical for such a little advantage. (and I doubt having a ball of metal in your stomach for a long time is a good idea)

Who is the "sapient magic" on scandrial
Oversleep replied to Supreme King Z-arc's question in Cosmere Q&A
Cognitive Shadows are basically ghosts. Returned, Heralds or Threnodian Shades are all examples of Cognitive Shadows. Brandon does refer to specific character (as RShara and Apollyon explained) but it's possible there are more Cognitive Shadows on Scadrial than this one. -
[Secret History] [OB] Why are Elantrians old in the CR?
Oversleep replied to Llarimar's question in Cosmere Q&A
My guess is that CR has nothing to do with it and Ire would look old in Physical Realm, too. I think they actually go through some form of aging but Dor sustaining them makes them immortal. Alternatively, it could be that emotional and mental exhaustion is responsible for them appearing and kinda being old (as we well know, people who live high stress life can actually appear older than they are due to the strain on their bodies). -
After a while you internalize those rules and do all of that instinctively. At least, I do. Although I never really had reason to use more than two or three adjectives at once so maybe I'm not as good as it as I'd like to think I am.

I've seen enough of discussions about this to answer: nigh impossible.

That article is vastly exaggerating how hard it is to learn all of that for a non-native English speaker.

So how did people figure out that Zahel was Vasher?
Oversleep replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is basically because Warbreaker had their language (of Hallandren) translated to English. While in Stormlight Archive we have (mostly) Alethi translated to English. And the thing is, Vasher is not speaking his own language, he's using Connection (like the WoB above explained) to speak Alethi and sometimes it just doesn't work right. Therefore Alethi around him don't quite grasp what he's saying because it does not necessarily make sense in Alethi. It's like I translated a saying from my own language to English - like "to make two roasts on one fire". And then someone translated our conversation to their language, what I said will stand out. However, if I said the correct English saying "to kill two birds with one stone" it would get translated properly to the respective phrase. Does that make sense? -
[OB] Hoid the Radiant in the Secret History
Oversleep replied to Merrickz's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's... it's just a phrase. It does not mean his eyes were really emitting light. Also, Brandon very explicitly said there is no travel back in time in Cosmere. Those two should cut it. -
Combination of lots of water and high-speed winds would do that to you. And yes, it refers to Plate locking up after running out of Stormlight. Similarly how you can say that you froze in place or how cops say to freeze. Not a reference to temperature.

Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Oversleep replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I don't check this thread for a week or two and in meantime @Kobold King and @Voidus hop back to have discussion? And then @Bleeder shows up again? Who's next? @TwiLyghtSansSparkles returns? I also haven't heard from @Quiver for a while now. And @The Honor Spren for that matter. @Zathoth may have given up on the Shard but I enjoyed his presence. There's probably few more people from back in the day I can't remember right now -
These two imply it needs Allomancy (besides, without Allomancy it cannot work, so I don't see why would it): That should be enough.

Vessel of Cultivation.

That general link doesn't work for me. The link for the SA and Drominad T-Shirt do but when I click on "Brandon Sanderson" on any of these two pages I get back to an empty page. Anybody knows what causes this?
-
I think it depends on how you'd go about it. If you burn aluminum first, duraluminum would go away. If you first burn duralumin and then aluminum, then aluminum would go in a superflare, which could had a stronger aluminum effect (potentially burning away other viable metals in your body).

Well I don't think it's possible to have flesh without DNA really
-
Well he IS in the management. No reason he would not.

I'm not sure who that was. I am also wondering that. Same! One thing I particularly wonder now: how many parks are there? We know about Samurai themed one and IIRC Westworld is Section 1? Okay I googled a bit, it seems that it's confirmed that there are six of them (IIRC the enforcement guy mentioned tiger to be from sixth; possible Ice Age thing?) and original movie had Medieval one and I think Roman themed one. I watched it long ago. Which reminds me! How did the enforcement guy survive? He was taken by surprise by five or six hostile Indian hosts and got his gun knocked out? And he's perfectly fine? Do you also think that Delos is collecting DNA from their guests so they could build hosts of them? Possibly to replace them? Okay this gets very Blade Runnery. And what exactly is in the mind of Abernathy (Dolores' father)? And how did it get put there? Oh wait, they did put something in his mind before Ford started his great plan? Now I remembered. Maybe I should've rewatched.

NEEEW SSEAAAASOOOON!!! I already watched first episode!

Ah, this one. I transcribed it. I did not think much of it, but I see your interpretation as well. IIRC that person was dubbed Hema-Hoid.

Yes, but human cannot be kandra. It's obvious that Felt is not WalDo. Or is there some WoB I missed and we're looking for a human Hemalurgist now?
-
Guys. Felt is a human. We have been over this.
