  1. Indeed I did. I even have the relevant thread in my sig (look down) This thread reminds me how happy I was to finally get that WoB about Allomantic strength and what it entails...
  2. Even Ruin and Preservation - our best pair of opposed Shards - were not perfectly opposed, as in fact Ruin is more compatible with Cultivation. And I think Cultivation and Preservation would also be considered opposites. Took the words out of my mouth.
  3. Well, I write in a different language, so I don't think the reading my work would work out :| And I'm not the best on reviewing others' work, either.
  4. There is a writing group here?
  5. If you want more ideas, look here: Especially look into the spreadsheet
  6. Hope of Elantris was written sometime when writing Well of Ascension:
  7. Has someone got the WoB about Kenton Street in Luthadel? There are folks that think they've read it but a quick search has given me no results.
  8. Well, it's resolved now: it's left.
  9. Hoid is the like second oldest (or just one of the oldest) being in Cosmere, so... He is older than Scadrial. He is older than Shards although not necessarily older than their Vessels. Compared to him, Vasher is kinda young.
  10. Yeah, we know: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/361-rbrandonsanderson-skyward-ama/
  11. I need to update it with Edgedancer and OB info but maybe this will help:
  12. *coughs* Keep pushing *coughs*
  13. I have two problems with your theory (which was very nicely put together): The screams stormform Eshonai hears are her own. It is implied in OB that eventually she would have broken free. And this WoB... huh. It's your WoB? For me it implies that someone who would have done similar things somewhere else, that person would also hear the screams. And other places in Cosmere do not have Unmade...
  14. Wow, @robardin, you explained it better than me. As for the fourth way - given the way that seeing the future works in Cosmere, I think it depends on the way the randomness is generated. Most generators aren't truly random; only pseudo-random - those would probably generate atium shadow. The truly random ones would probably cause multiple atium shadows. At least, that's how I see it.
  15. No. Why would they? They'd see multiple electrum shadows of themselves and single atium shadow of everything else. If you're confused about atium-electrum interactions, this thread may be useful: EDIT: Dammit @Calderis! Ninja'd!
  16. Oh man, this thread really died.
  17. We don't know. We only have... no, wait, we don't have any data points on this.
  18. I agree with Calderis. Preservation isn't a "void" in the "change spectrum". Preservation is active upkeep of a state, working counter to anything that may change it.
  19. Am I doing this right?
  20. *cries about shipping to Europe*
  21. Hmmmm... Good question. I guess that they don't know, either. After all, he's the first Herald to also join his Order.
  22. I'm sorry, Extes. But Forgery is high-Investiture magic, for the love of Adonalsium! The second bold is more related to the topic we're discussing but I guess fakign having a spren takes way more power than faking being an Allomancer? Is that preferable? With the first WoB which states that the actual soul would take less damage and the fact that there are bindpoint on non-vital parts of the body (like ears), this would minimize the damage due to Hemalurgy. Still horrible but should be surviveable. With some regeneration kind of healing magic (so not the Selish kinds but more like Feruchemical gold or Stormlight) you could even patch up the soul, so it should be kinda OK.
  23. About that freedom of speech, relevant xkcd that may be of use in the future for people in cases like this: Title text: I can't remember where I heard this, but someone once said that defending a position by citing free speech is sort of the ultimate concession; you're saying that the most compelling thing you can say for your position is that it's not literally illegal to express.
  24. I guess it would be possible to kill someone like that (like in your example, cancer got detected too late). But the kids would not cease to exist; Forgery does not cause butterfly effect, it's limited to the thing it's applied to.
  25. One of the first bridge runs, it was a man beside Kaladin. Perhaps they mean proximity to the highstorm itself. Also, we do know where Urithiru is, it's on the map in the OB. It's in the center of Roshar, roughly, near the Valley. No, Origin is (hypothetical) place somewhere not on the continent. I think this is Penrod, who was ruling the Luthadel as appointed by Elend but he was spiked and as such under influence of Ruin. It's about Resonance - when two (or more but not too much either) powers interact, there is a side effect. For example, Crasher's Resonance is the steel bubble. For Windrunners (Resonance between Gravity and Adhesion), this is "strength of the squires" which means more and stronger squires. For Lightweavers, it's mnemonic abilities. I don't think we know any more Resonances. Although we do know that Skybreakers' is not telling guilty and innocent people apart. We do have a few hints about Edgedancers'.
