I forgot to mention the Flaw. But the passerby Mistborn is surely thankful for his own Inquisitor plaything

Okay, so assuming this as canon, all Pewterarms have the same upper bound of strength. If we go by WoB that that upper bound is about two times average human strength, then... well, not much makes sense. Cracking skulls with bare hands or easily swinging koloss sword needs much more than 2x average.

Around the Cosmere: Theories and Coppermind

Yeah, x2 doesn't really even start to describe what pewter burners were capable of. Vin was regularly cracking koloss skulls with bare hands, not to mention swinging huge koloss sword around.- 12 comments

Better tap more connection to love math more. Save up determination for the rest of the exam learning (I sympathize with you...but really, only 27 pages? Kids those days have it easy, I was doing 27 pages weekly! )

Try searching a topic "Felt the worldhopper". Do we know whether Autonomy is the only Shard on Taldain?

So, you get powers associated with 16 metals, but only one power per metal. So choose between weight Feruchemy and Ironpulling and so on. Hemalurgy is an option (so you can get a double Ironpulling by choosing steel to be Hemalurgic spike charged with Allomantic iron). But double Steelpushing is impossible, as the spike needed to steal Allomantic steel is steel itself. Similarly double Feruchemical pewter is impossible. As you can see, Compounding is only possible by Hemalurgy. Explain why did you choose a specific combination and explain any neat tricks you found. And a challenge: try to make use of the powers you wouldn't normally choose. Like Allomantic aluminum, for example. Or Allomantic gold. Here, a template: Iron: Steel: Tin: Pewter: Zinc: Brass: Copper: Bronze: Cadmium: Bendalloy: Gold: (I suspect it's gonna be a popular Feruchemy pick) Electrum: Chromium: Nicrosil: Aluminum: Duraluminum: Atium:

So how gravity works on edges/corners?
-
Chromium Mistings would be part of anti-drug commitee at sport events. Along with Coinshots/Lurchers to check whether you have metalminds on you... Damnation, how would you check whether a Feruchemist has swallowed a metalmind? It would be unaffected by Leechers and undetectable by metalsight.

I don't quite understand you - if you're to store while doing something you like, why would you do the opposite while doing math?

Yay for updated Cosmere 101! That is totally new to me. Can I ask for the source? Because it seems a little contradicting to that WoB: I know lesser spren may also grant different powers through Nahel Bond, but those wouldn't be any of the original Ten Surges, so...- 12 comments

trailer for AC: Revelations has Ezio fighting alone against many enemies. Great fight sequence.

I once had an idea about my Soulsmiths (I will go by that name for now): the city they live in was cut off from the rest of the world (I still don't know why) and the plot is that government somehow acquired artifacts capable of sensing magic. And somehow they gone from state of emergency to full fledged totalitaristic regime - our heroes are now hunted since they aren't surrendering themselves and they won't stop killing monsters. I still don't know the specifics, though. The problem arises when one monster Rips in the reality just near Haesar's house. Haesar knows that the Rip was sensed and a strike force will be sent, but he also knows that they will be too late (about fifteen minutes) and he isn't going to watch the monster eat his neighbours. He also knows that the moment he taps into his power all alarms will go crazy and he will have a a dozen of troops in under five minutes on his head. Normally he would escape after he is done, but they will be able to sense his aura all over the place and conclude it's his home, then his family will be taken hostage... That sort of thing. I seriously have to stop making up new settings (normal one, this one and that post-apo one). That setting was originally responsible for setting up a secret network for mages. On this one, I think more like Final Empire than all these dystopian post-Hunger Games things... wait, I can't be influenced by them, I've read only first Hunger Games book and nothing else from that genre. I may have been influenced by actual history of my city and country... And maybe Little Brother, a little.

@the.fulgid I also think that Hoid may have been referencing his "stealing himself" as he stole philosophy or way of acting or personality traits (think Wayne stealing accent but on the much more grande scale). The "words on page" may refer to the fact that what pushed him to become who he is was something written.

Now that you mention it, I realized that Theorydancers and Theoryrunners are very similar: Theoryrunners argue in defence of theories (which also covers WoBs) Theorydancers provide WoBs (which can also cover defending theories) Eh. One day, when I'll have time, I may do a rework of Orders similar to one another. I don't mind help, so I'm open to suggestions.
-
You seem like a Theoryrunner material to me. For those confused about belonging to one of the Orders, there is always gonna be an overlap. Can't be helped, I'm afraid.

I can't recall any cartoon of the scope similar to Stormlight Archive, but I think Avatar did a pretty good job.

Oversleep's University Problems, episode 42: I didn't go last week to the Databases laboratories ("laboratories" are practical classes, we actually sit by computers and do things, as opposed to "exercises" which are theoretical as we do things on paper) because I didn't complete the assignment (which in turn wasn't completed because I hadn't managed to make myself familiar with Access). That would be so-so OK, as I can miss one class without repercussions (theoretically, as the woman in charge of the class is borderline crazy). Normally these laboratories are on two-weeks cycle... but my university is known for time-bending (it isn't surprising for me anymore to have a week composed of two Mondays, followed by Friday, then a proper Thursday and then a day-off) so tomorrow I would have it again. The thing is, I'm not going. Because I still have no idea how to use Access (and believe me, I tried). I hope I can make up for it by going to that class with another group (common practice, but remember the line about borderline crazy?) after Easter. I will try to get a friend to explain it to me during holidays... Back to studying... oh, I planned to write an article about "White Sand" during weekend. Well, storm that too. Unfortunately. I think I may have issues with organizing time and self-motivation. It doesn't help that I managed to get by doing things on the last possible moment my whole life... well, at least whole life before last year. Learning whole semester of mathematical analysis in 6 hours year ago was my last accomplishment on that field. -
About why there are such pairings: So probably to get another pairing you need multiple spren/Honorblades.
-
So when looking at them separately, they are the same. But their interaction causes an additional effect (Lightweaver's Memories, Windrunners' abnormal number of squires etc). And of course, there is also synergy: There are Coinshots and there are Skimmers, but when you combine these powers together in Crasher, he will be able to do many cool things avalaible only thanks to this particular combination. For example, Dustbringers can use Abrasion like Edgedancers to slide around or climb walls and they can use Division like Skybreakers, but (if my theory is true) they can do something others cannot: make things explode (look up 'dust explosion').

Wait, why did your friends act like that? It's not like it was your choice to be sick. They knew you were sick. About teachers... well... It's better to get used to it, unfortunately. It's unfair, I know. -
I always liked the name "Ciri" (from The WItcher). Turns out Sapkowski saw the word on the tag on some clothes (I can't find the quotes, unfortunately) and since other tags were names (from North Europe, can't remember the country) he thought it is a name as well. Thus, Ciri.
