  1. Have you heard of Jugger? It's a team sport with weapons. Also, I recommend reading this
  2. If we spiked a Listener with Feruchemical nicrosil, could he store the spren he's bonded to and loose form in the process? Could he later tap nicrosil to strengthen the form? Could he store the spren completely, loose form, and bond another spren? Could he then change forms at will between those two spren by carefully storing and tapping nicrosil? Another question: what happens when Connector tries to store his Connection to the time of his birth (If I understood correctly, that's how the Spiritual Age is represented)?
  3. Trying to identify Hoid be like: Trying to figure out who Hoid is and what does he want be like: Cosmere Theoretists at work:
  4. Twi, should we start getting concerned? After all, TVTropes will ruin your life: Browsing is danegorus enough. You engaged in editing activity. Do you remember to sleep and eat? Not necessarily a Sharder. If you took a look at the discussions about cosmere books, you'll find those people much less cosmere aware than an average Sharder. *sips tea with pinky raised*
  5. Fixed it for you Check out the caption under the image in the "get lost in" link EDIT: MASSIVE TVTROPES WARNING - THERE ARE FOUR, I REPEAT - FOUR LINKS TO TVTROPES IN THAT QUOTE. PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND ON YOUR OWN RISK
  6. I meant that we don't know how each metal burn rate compare to others as far as Investiture produced is concerned. I think the best way to phrase that question is: Do Allomantic metals have the same Investiture density? Does burning one gram of tin and one gram of steel produce the same amount of Investiture (assuming the same allomantic strength level in both metals)?
  7. Ad 1. We know that Allomancers of old were more powerful than those of Final Empire. It implies each generation getting weaker. Therefore, new born Allomancers were weaker than those already living. Perhaps the level of strength between people varies, but to lightly to be noticeable. Ad 3. We do not know how each metal burn rates relate to each other.
  8. They came to Roshar together, as they were a couple. Soulcasting - Surge of Transformation - is just one of the Surges. Parshendi are not of Honor. When asked whether they were of Cultivation or of Odium, Brandon said "Not originally". And what @Yata said.
  9. I am not sure about that potter and his strange dreams. I mean, Kaladin also did have strange dreams during highstorm. But I'm not convinced those are the same as the TAL which Gavilar and Dalinar received.
  10. I know that song from the Guy RIchie Sherlock Holmes. Took me a good while to find it.
  11. While scrolling Facebook, I came upon a comment saying... brace yourselves...
  12. Perhaps he bonded a Listener and... posessed him... and went back to Scadrial... done some Hemalurgy... saved Southeners? Naaah. Farfetched. If you think about it: Listeners do have abilities to manifest cognitive beings as changes to their psycho- and physiology.
  13. We know that before Dalinar, the visions were sent to Gavilar (as Taravangian knows some of its contents since Gavilar confined in him). Why? I suspect it has to do with the Way Of Kings and Alethi War Codes. Way of Kings probably is like a Bible to Radiants and if somebody follows its teachings, he or she becomes Radiant material as he or she exhibits behaviour and attitude which attracts spren. I suspect that combined with the Alethi Codes of War which, among others, contain teaching for what a leader should be, they make a Bondsmith material (as Bondsmiths seem to be about leading/uniting people: "I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together" and the Divine Attribute of Guiding). That would explain why the next recipient after Gavilar is his own brother. Because Dalinar did what Gavilar did. Followed the same teachings. Now, I'm not sure whether Gavilar was chosen because of his actions to unite Alethkar or perhaps he united Alethkar because of the visions. I suspect it was the former, as he started behaving differently only recently. Dalinar continues his work, becoming obsessed with keeping Alethkar whole. But no, this is a distraction. Deviation. We must discuss the nature of my theory. I say that the visions are sent to those who are proto-Bondsmiths. This makes sense, as Stormfather can sense those individuals (much like Shallan's lies attracted a Cryptic, Kaladin's behaviour attracted honorspren and so on). Perhaps he doesn't want to bond them, and who says he did? Maybe Dalinar was the first to actually progress to the point of bonding the Stormfather? But I digress again. Who said Dalinar was the second one to receive the visions? Who said Gavilar was the first to receive the visions? Maybe the visions were sent to him only after the previous candidate failed/died? Let's go further with that. How many times were the visions sent throughout the history? Did Sunmaker receive them? Maybe Talenel had a hard time back then and it made Stormfather react with selecting an individual. Then Talenel pulled himself together. Then he started breaking again in the modern times and visions were sent once again.
  14. Nope. Ishar patrones Bondsmiths. Lightweaver's patron is Shalash (easy to remember since Shallan is a Lightweaver). http://coppermind.net/wiki/Ten_Essences
  15. Okay, guys, let get some facts here before we start dishing dirt again. @Xaladin, could you please describe what changed and how? I assume you have no screenshots, as you would have posted them by now.
  16. Very cool! Although, I have suggestion to make: shift everything one to right (so the top is Ishar and Jezrien is first to the rigth). That way Ishar and Paliah are at the correct positions in relation to their dots on the Double Eye of Almighty.
  17. I've read an article or two explaining how math makes no sense and that we make it up as we go along. I didn't agree with it completely, but it had some merit. EDIT: I've read some TVTropes. Someone wondered whether CogShad!Kelsier could form a Nahel Bond on Roshar. There was wondering about what Surges it would grant et cetera... But one of the Oaths would be "I'll fight when I'm beaten. I'll survive".
  18. It's because, at its core, nothing makes sense. We don't think too much about things because it destroys the lie we're all pretending to believe.
  19. I liked it. (I am with @Quiver - Khriss entrance was just faboluous. It suits the character) It was an interesting read and I'm waiting for next volumes. I liked the art (from artistic point of view - execution is not so well, read below). Cons: Although, there are some problems. For example, until Kenton lifted himself on three ribbons in the diem, I had no idea what Sand Mastery looks like (apart from Mastrells flying on tornadoes). I mean, during the battle... did I... did I just learn something, in a graphic novel, from description and not from the art? Are you kidding?! "Put the walls before them!"... Walls? What walls? They're using sand walls? Cool! *looks really hard for sand walls* *finds nothing* Also, no idea how they're using the sand offensively. Shooting it or what? They're punching holes straight through enemies, yet I don't know what is actually happening. All I see is glowing and splashes of sand... and that's it. I also join the choir of people complaining that they can't distinguish between Sand Masters. I mean, couldn't they at least color-code them clearly with their sashes? When Kenton woke up from dehydration, I couldn't differentiate between people he talked to.
  20. Ooh, I am now (almost) up to speed with cosmere! Anyway, I catched up on all the major entries! NOW I CAN DIVE INTO WHITE SAND SUBFORUM
  21. You know of Wiki Wars, right? You know, countless pages of discussions and edit wars over things like "should there be "the" in the title of that thing?". Hardcore editors treat such things not lightly. You had to be informed of your mistake... xD Being a fan or not probably has nothing do to with it.
  22. Funny thing: in the three hours between my last post here, where I asked that question and now, I finally received White Sand and read it Should White Sand be connected with WoK because of Baon? How would the direction go? Furthermore, what about Khriss? She is in both BoM and SH.
  23. My question is: does he appear in the volume 1 of the graphic novel?
  24. @Ciridae (nice nick BTW), look here for discussion on reproduction of Listeners:
