The cookies I offered you are not magnetically attracted

I'm going back and forth on the armor/weapons being material/summonable or not. I mean, the whole concept is that armor and weapons are like condensated power, kind of programmed magic. If I make them immaterial and summonable, there is no tension in a sword being broken or anything. Just desummon and summon back a new copy. If they're material and not summonable, they can be stolen. I like that. On the other hand, they have to be stored somewhere. Imagine Peter Parker hiding in his closet something which amounts to Iron Man armor. Just not doable. Also, I want my characters to have them handy, because otherwise half of the plot would be "we have to get our stuff fast before that monster/eldritch abomination/horror entity/puppy kills too many people". I thought about making the summoning process longer and requiring concentration, but that doesn't cut it. Once it's done it would still retain all the plot flaws. Namely, being broken would be insignificant. I want such occurences to be hugely impactful. ("That guy broke Captain's America shield!" or "What will Thor do with Mjolnir hidden from him?" et cetera) How to make something easily accessible wherever you go but at the same time you can loose it? How to make it prone to damage but eteric in nature?

What happens when you burn Trellium? [Secret History Spoilers]
Oversleep replied to HonorIsDead's topic in Mistborn
That's wrong. The problem is that when creating medallions, multiple people have to store their abilities. Somehow they interfere with each other. That's why only recently Southerners learned how to make medallions granting more than one power. Those which were on the ship, each granted two abilities: weight/connection, weight/warmth. Medallions with three abilities are incredibly rare. Also, different medallions interfere with each other (that's why you can't just use 16 medallions to have all the powers). However, if a person with multiple powers (like Mistborn, Full Feruchemist, Fullborn... perhaps even Twinborn count) stored them in nicrosil, they work just fine. That's what the Survivor's Spearhead is. An unsealed (there is a difference between unkeyed and unsealed IIRC) nicrosilmind which contains, more or less (as there would be problems with certain powers) all Allomantic and Feruchemical powers. Since they were stored by a single person, they can all be used at once. -
@ThirdGen, I guess that's probably because we think in another scale. If some place is in the same country, it's not really far away. Damnation, one can drive through multiple countries in one day! So we tend to think "you're in the same country as the place you want to go to, so it's not really far away". But in reality, a single European country covers the area of few states in USA.

That only implies that a fully filled metalmind could resist a Shardblade a little. It is not conclusive whether it could block it

What happens when you burn Trellium? [Secret History Spoilers]
Oversleep replied to HonorIsDead's topic in Mistborn
Eh. Okay. First of all, Mistborn can burn any metal that is usable in Metallic Arts. However, to be able to use another Shard's power, said Shard have to do certain things. There was a WoB that somebody asked that if Odium came to Scadrial, could Harmony make a legion of raysium burners? The answer was that a Shard has to do certain things to make it's power accesible on said world and that Odium did those things on Roshar. So if we took a Mistborn who was born before arrival of Trell, said Mistborn could not burn trellium. However, if that Mistborn was born after Trell made its power accesible on Scadrial, the Mistborn could burn trellium. Somebody here made an assumption that Bands' nicrosil contains "Mistborn ability to burn any metal". That's wrong. If there existed "ability to burn anything", it would be stealable by Hemalurgy and we know that if you spike a Mistborn, you can only take one power and others are lost. So when storing nicrosil, you have to store powers separately. The name "trellium" is fandom-only because there is no canon name to call it. It indicates that that metal is godmetal of Trell, as it cannot be one of sixteen basic metals and it is not atium, nor lerasium and it is not harmonium. Because Harmony does not know what is it. So, unless somebody bred a Mistborn or a trellium Misting was created, there is nobody able to burn that metal. -
Marvel/DC Characters with Mistborn Powers (Game-ish, but not really)
Oversleep replied to KnightRadiant's topic in Mistborn
Wasn't there a thread exactly like this? I think there was one. -
Could you provide a source? The only WoB about metalminds vs Shardblade I recall was that it would resist a little. BTW, Survivor's Spearhead is nowhere as Invested as regular Shardblade, so there is that.

I went digging to Wikipedia. Look at this gem: I don't even. I laughed out loud at that sentence too xD EDIT: Another gem:

There is no such thing as power of immortality. There are just people not trying hard enough!

Yeah, I know that death is super cheap in comics, but I just find Jean Grey dying more frequently than other characters. Hm... Is there even a comic book character who has not died ever? I know it could be hard to keep track of all of them with things like Flashpoint Paradox where a lot people died and things like that, but how about characters who died and then got better?

A question. I haven't read White Sand yet, so any connections to the cosmere? Since it's currently the last published story, I guess it doesn't have any major connections (like Warbreaker -> WoR) and minor connections, since it's so early in chronology? On the other hand, I recall something about Purelake Wordlhopper being from White Sand (prose). Does it still stand?
-
He what Is "Jean Grey died" the equivalent of "It was dark and stormy night"? (BTW, check this. Tvtropes alert!) What? How?! ... isn't Magneto like the Kryptonite for Wolverine? I mean, control over magnetism. Metal bones. These do not go along well. Did it also turn out that Xorn 2 was actually the original Xorn and survived beheading and is now passing off as his own brother?

Yeah, for majority of people that's the issue. Also, reading is usually faster than watching. Anyway, my problem is that I have a really bad internet connection and that I've got set monthly limits on how much I can do on the Internet. Videos are really taxing, so if I want to do youtube or download something, I usually wait to 1 am (cause 1am-7am is a much bigger limit). That's why I am online on such late hours ^^

I'm not sure - I mean, could it have been before Aharietam? After all, Radiants were around long before Heralds left. I'd say it's 50-50.

The links that make you believe there is an article to read... only to turn out after you loaded the page that there's one sentence, two at best and a video. If I wanted to watch, why can't they just link straight to youtube instead of those pseudo-articles?

I willingly read about the origin origins of Donna Troy. Hit me.

Thanks. No idea why somebody did this. Maybe it was a mislick? Anyway, to keep the meme alive: <- is Catholic <- drinks coffee out of necessity (it doesn't interact well with me, and let's just leave it at that) <- drinks black/Earl grey mixture tea <- actively pursues knowledge about various alcohol beverages I mean, it's not that I am a drunk or something. I do drink, but I always do it reasonably. Also, the history, traditions and culture of alcohol is just interesting. Not to mention making your own tinctures and wines. I'm that guy who has proper kinds of glasses for various kinds of alcohol.

There was a recent change? What did change?

Well, we have never seen a Surgebinder use as much Stormlight as Kaladin and Szeth. Lift is restricted by her metabolism, while Shallan never needs to use such excessive amounts of Stormlight. Or rather it's never as rapid, as Lightweaving feeds steadily on Stormlight and Soulcasting was used rarely and we don't even know how Stormlight works in Cognitive Realm.

The Official Thread of Relationships
Oversleep replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
I think a proper response would be to ignore him for a long enough so that he'd get uncomfortable, pretending to be focused on whatever you were doing and then raise your head as if you just remembered and respond "Yes, yes, good evening to you too" like this was a small detail you forgot to do. Waving your hand as in "that's unimportant I'm busy" could be added, although adding "and whatever" would probably be too forced. I don't think anything could make this more of "casual politeness, I don't really care". -
Szeth's clothing froze on several occasions. One of the examples is IIRC the Prologue.

I find it amusing that we had a page long converastion on cheese. I also find it very funny that just as I am after four glasses of wine the conversation shifted to wine Anyway, those fancy names usually indicate the region the wine was made in (usually the region takes name after the nearby castle) and/or the grape types. There are sour, half-sour, half-sweet and sweet wines. Another (separate) classification is white/pink/red. And there are also flavors and.. things. I'm not a wine nerd, although I wish I was one xD Anyway, my family makes our own, homemade wine. Usually from sour cherries, sweet cherries, raspberries and few other things. There are bottles stacked everywhere in the garage and few other rooms. Last year we tried making wine out of grapes and it came out great (we make sweet wines, or half-sweet if something goes wrong ). Now we decided to print our own labels. I'll upload a photo when we'll have it done. BTW, making your own wine is pretty simple. I think it could be one of the simplest alcohol beverages to make. If somebody is interested, I say try. It doesn't require any secret knowledge or high tech tools.

You're right. Bu IIRC Nahel bond spren are said to be partially of Honor and of Cultivation (in various percentages). Some spren are of Adonalsium, but there was a lot less of spren before H&C came to Roshar and Honor was Splintered.
