  1. Humans, Sho Del, Vaxians. What about Singers??
  2. Not exactly a typo, but similar. In the list of books written by Brandon, Defiant is missing.
  3. You can’t kill hope without first killing Kelsier. And good luck with that.
  4. I’m confused. It seems from SLM he has armor from both his Windrunner and Skybreaker bonds. But he didn’t reach the fourth ideal as a Windrunner. What did I miss?
  5. An eye for an eye originally meant if you take out someone’s eye, you owe them an eye. Meaning, you should now do for them what they can no longer do because of their missing eye. That biblical law was never about retribution or revenge.
  6. I thought from Rysn’s last scene that she is going to invent spaceflight.
  7. Is anyone else bothered by timing? According to the chapter headings, Kaladin was made a slave 5 years after the Assassination, and the story begins almost a full year after that. Then here it says the Assassination was “7.5 years ago.” Perhaps chapter 1 of Wind and Truth isn’t chronologically after RoW? I looked at the interactive map/timeline, and it appears tWoK took a month and WoR took another two months? Doesn’t seem right. I’ll accept some rounding errors, but this seems too much for that. 2.5 years = 25 months, and 8 of those were Kaladin as a slave before arriving at the Shattered Plains. So, 17 months. Almost a full year of that is the gap between OB and RoW, so the events of ALL FOUR BOOKS took place in less than a year?

  9. I guess my browser’s search feature is lousy. Thanks!
  10. Quick question: does anybody know what happened to the Array rank in Set? In the Bands of Mourning that guy with the cane is noted for being an Array, supposedly a rank of some import. But it isn’t mentioned in The Lost Metal, and Coppermind doesn’t mention it.
  11. My guess about the dragons is that they’re “amphibian” meaning they start as non-fain (humanlike) in childhood, like tadpoles in water, and then grow up into fain dragon form like frogs coming up on land.
  12. Probably Lan and Nynaeve. It’s just more epic than the rest. Imo all of the romances are the same story except for Mat and Tuon. Maaaybe Moiraine and Thom. I don’t mind though. If romance is the #1 thing you read a book for you probably don’t pick up Wot.
  13. Mat’s luck is canonically subservient to Rand. In Shadow Rising Mat had tossed that coin and Rand made it go his way, as one example.
  14. When you are reading your ballot, wondering how to vote, and decide based on the question “how would Elend vote?”
