umm, sorry to burst your bubble but we have known about this for a *long* time... (at least since November 2011) It's on Hoid's coppermind page.

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 28: Book Wrap-up
WeiryWriter commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Curses! Wait, did you *actually* read check to see what got changed in those edits? 'Cause that's toootally what's going on there, I didn't accidentally refer to Renarin as Renarin Davar... Nope, didn't happen. And yeah, a picture of the book would be nice!- 21 comments

What exactly do you mean by this? Are you implying that if Preservation had not gone to Scadrial, but another Shard had instead that Allomancy and Feruchemy would still exist? Or that if Preservation had gone there Invested, thereby causing the systems to develop into existence, and then left they would continue to exist? If the later, frankly we don't know what would happen. With the former, there is absolutely no indication that is the case. Allomancy is *of* Preservation and Scadrial, it could not exist without them both. If another Shard invested, it very probably would use metal as a focus, but the system would be different.

Thoughts on Spiritwebs and Investiture
WeiryWriter replied to bridgerald's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would say no, Seekers detecting when someone burns metal is kind of the definition of what they can do, if you aren't burning metals they can't distinguish between you and an ordinary mortal. If they could they would have had a lot easier time finding skaa Mistings. I think it is mentioned in the annotations that Ruin had a hard time getting a-duralumin for his non-Mistborn inquistors because he had to sacrifice a Mistborn to get it (loosing out on the rest of their abilities) because he had no way have detecting duralumin gnats. If Ruin couldn't do it, I doubt a Seeker could (though there are things that Shards can't do that "lesser" beings can). I know it is remarked that it is unusual that Marsh had a spike for a-duralumin.- 10 replies

I put Truthwatcher. I actually didn't really know, am I still reserve the right to change my mind once we have more information, but I was talking to a friend of mine and she said Truthwatcher (Based on the Divine Attributes of Learned and Giving) which really does sort of fit me. The Surges of Illumination and Progression are very cool as well. And my favorite color *is* green so y'know that works.

Thoughts on Spiritwebs and Investiture
WeiryWriter replied to bridgerald's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Two short comments: We do have WoB that it is possible to survive being a spike-donor, but that they would be different afterwards: (source) I think you are misreading something. They preferred making Inquisitors *from* Mistborn, i.e. the person who gets all of the spikes jabbed in their meaty bits and becomes an evil priest guy. Making spikes out of Mistborn was actually considered a waste, they preferred to use Mistings for making spikes.- 10 replies

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 28: Book Wrap-up
WeiryWriter commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
A great wrap-up to a fantastic podcast series! (And OH MY SYL that Renarin tidbit! That will definitely be making its way onto the wiki at some point...) Truth be told, the fact Kaladin has expressed interest in women has absolutely nothing to do with the possibility that he could be interested in Renarin. It is not like you can either like men or you can like women, it is not a strict binary, he could be Bi for all we know. I highly doubt it, WoR pretty squarely puts the Diagram as being a result of Nightwatcher shenanigans. I do think it is very possible that the Prime Diagram is probably a result of Renarin's Truthwatchery-ness, but I think it is a false parallel to say that Taravangain must be a Truthwatcher. He is pretty much the opposite of the First Ideal so he can't be a KR.- 21 comments

Spren, Seons, and Awakened objects
WeiryWriter replied to WardenGiggles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
No PorrigeBrick is correct, Shadesmar is a region of the Cognitive Realm. A friend of mine, Leinton, asked Brandon about it at the WoR San Diego Signing. -

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon

Awakening does not require a spoken command, those of the Tenth Heightening have the "Mental Command" ability, this is how the God Kings transfer their Breath to their successors despite lacking tongues. -

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 27: The End
WeiryWriter commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
The bit with Nightblood was priceless "What? What? What? No..." and "What happened to Vasher?" (oh I don't know, maybe he is on vacation?) and Nightblood the book is going to be jumping back in the timeline, given what Brandon has said about the plot. The scene with Adolin and Sadeas, also priceless, you were very calm, almost disinterested and I'm thinking "oh man what's she going to do?" and then you're like "dang" "I'm sorry for sobbing a while there" It's fine, its not like we were expecting anything different. I was expecting a more dramatic "Jasnah lives!" reaction, but as you said you were pretty drained after that Renarin reveal. Ars Arcanum - I say it the same way, so obviously we are right- 22 comments

No, no, and that's too vague.
-
Just an FYI a number of the interviews have been added to the Theoryland database. There are links to its page at the top of each interview that has been added.
-
Well that's strangely prophetic... It *is* on Theoryland, but I am literally in the middle of adding that interview... (So it wasn't on Theoryland when you made your post, but it is now)
-
No, there are not. Brandon's gotten way more busy than he was when the corebook came out and he just didn't have time.
-
Nope, though that last one is getting closer...

1. Thanks 2. It's a theory but I don't think we have WoB on it. 3. I would say the Returned, since if they don't get a normal breath in a week they consume the divine one. 4. True, Adonalsium left behind Splinters that became spren.
-
Returned are *not* Splinters, the divine Breath they hold is a Splinter. (source) And as Swimmingly said, a Shard does not need to be Splintered to have Splinters.
-
No, she is not in the cosmere.

Okay so from my rudimentary skills with the woman's script I've figured out the top bit is "Royal Cartographers Guild" and it looks like the bottom two sequences are the same as top only reflected across the vertical axis. So... I want to know more about this "guild".
