Do you have a quote for that? That is not the impression I have received from the WoBs.

To my knowledge Brandon has not commented on the second chart. He certainly hasn't said it is related to Cultivation. Honor and Cultivation arrived together on Roshar, Odium came later. They are the only three shards to have existed on Roshar, unless one counts Adolnalsium. Brandon has said the Shards are not native to Roshar, understandable since they did not originate there.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon

What would the Willshapers think of Adolin's actions at the end of Words of Radiance? -
Heralds mental state affected by their Honourblades?
WeiryWriter replied to sonNeturo's topic in Stormlight Archive
All we know is that a Herald went back for their Honorblade, the identity of that herald is by no means known. Nalan is only a likely choice. -
Except Threnody is confirmed to be a minor shardworld.

The Hobbit movies also built off the success of the Lord of the Rings movies, not to mention The Hobbit is significantly better known than Stormlight. Brandon is pretty well known in the sci-fi/fantasy community but unfortunatetly he just doesn't have the presence in the public awareness that Tolkien does. Not to mention Stormlight would require a much higher effects budget than The Hobbit. Personally I just don't think Stormlight is suited for a live-action movie, at all. The effects budget would by outrageously high. And it would cut out so much of what makes Stormlight awesome that it would be kind of pointless. Mistborn is the series that should get movies, not Stormlight oh and @GroundPetrol I strongly disagree with your stance on the epicanthic folds, that is not something that should be changed. Period. Anyway everybody listen to Inkthinker, he knows what he's talking about.

Brandon's Writing Class - 2014
WeiryWriter replied to WeiryWriter's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Okay Lecture 6 has actually been up for a while (over a week) but I figure I should keep up with posting them here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3GSp0z6KQw&list=UU3g-w83Cb5pEAu5UmRrge-A -
One stipulation in regards to this. When Brandon said metal can be infused with mist he then when on to say this is essentially what happens when you charge a Hemalurgic spike.

Those of you who've been to signings... help!
WeiryWriter replied to Pechvarry's topic in Events and Signings
It is generally frowned upon to ask spoilery questions during the open Q&A (for any book), I know Brandon doesn't like people getting spoiled. As for holding your cosmere questions, as long as they aren't spoilery you could ask them, but your best bet is the line for getting them answered. As for that last bit, your best bet would be to call the store and ask them. -
Words of Radiance won't be added to Brandon's store for about a year. I think its when the paperback gets released?

Questions for Omaha Signing, 3-13-2014
WeiryWriter replied to Sir Jerric's topic in Events and Signings
Book 4 is Eshonai. 6-10 hasn't been expressly confirmed yet. Renarin will get one. Taln, Taravangian, and another Herald have been mentioned as likely candidates. -

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 3: Chapters 16-18
WeiryWriter commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Hehe... shipping Moash and Kaladin pale... kind of hilarious when you know what's coming. (and by hilarious I mean Feather's reaction will be priceless) Also this isn't showing up under the Shardcast tab.- 8 comments

So I tweeted this at Peter a while back but I figured I should probably bring it up here as well. Chapter 12 of Words of Radiance (pg 104 when I open it using the Nook computer app) says this: But Chapter 57 of The Way of Kings (pg 846 in the Nook computer app) they are described thusly: On twitter you mentioned the possibility of it being because of the lighting. Is that actually the case?

I agree with it most likely being Cultivation, it was definitely my first instinct. And ooh now I really want to read White Sand... I should really get around to sending that email...

I do not believe burning atium makes someone more agressive/violent/more likely to kill. Whenever we are in Vin's head while she is burning it I don't remember her getting any hinky impulses, she could just see into the future. I would also disagree with it just affecting one's vision. I am reasonably sure that a blind person who burns gold is able to interpret the alternate persona without being able to see them, so I would expect the same to work for atium as well. Atium expands the mental capabilities of the burner so they are able to process the precognitive information, for most this results in them "seeing" what is going to happen, but a non-sighted person would interpret in another way.

This is the first that we have heard of them. I'm kind of surprised that Brandon mentioned them though? Perhaps it was a slip, like when he gave us the names of Ashyn and Braize? Since they are confirmed to be more knowledgeable about the cosmere than Hoid, I'm betting they are the writer of the Ars Arcana.
