I am firmly in the camp that any adaptation would have to be animated. Rosharans do not map well (at all) to Earth-humans, they all (except the Shin) have epicanthic folds for example. If it is animated they only have to worry about getting the *voice* right. Not to mention the visual effects which would cost an obscene amount of money to look decent. (And let's be honest I for one would want it to be considerably better than just decent).

I might still do this for Words of Radiance at some point in the future but since the chronology has been already worked out it is very low priority.

Just a Warning, please do not discuss spoilers without spoiler tags in the main Stormlight Archive forum. Even if they are only names, they can still spoil people. I think I got everything but please check.

Ruin probably already knew, he had knew everything about Hemalurgy (bindpoints, what each spike can steal and such) so he would know what the metals are. Also Feruchemy is also partially of him so he would probably know the same for that as well.

Cosmere Fanart - Sketches and Works-in-Progress
WeiryWriter replied to ExMachina's topic in Creator's Corner
As always fantastic! I love Dalinar holding Navani's parasol, such a cute couple. (Also is no one going to comment on the shirtless Dalinar?) -
It does not refer to the depiction of Pattern, those central symbols denote the viewpoint character, what they are referring to is the arch above that. The people depicted in the wedges are the Heralds and Wit (the Masked Man), the figures that appear are thematically relevant to the chapter.

There are already a number of threads discussing the various secret societies, this one for example. There are already tons of new threads being created, let's try to keep from having multiple discussing the same thing.

Your favourite moments in WOR? (spoilers)
WeiryWriter replied to Aniki's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hehe, I was actually chatting with Windy when I got to that part and all I could say (after OH MY SYL!) was SHARDSPEAR! SHARDSPEAR! SHARDSPEAR! -
Another possible tie between the Unkalaki and the Vedens is the hierarchy of male offspring. This heirarchy manifests among the Unkalaki as the assignment of careers, i.e. fourth sons are warriors. Among the Vedens male children have honorifics based on their birth order, i.e. Nan for the eldest, Tet for the second eldest. But yeah I really like this theory!

WoR Updated Ars Arcanum(lots of spoilers)

Just a note, in the second table you spelled spren wrong. (you wrote spreen) -
Very interesting! However I do disagree with one thing. I think listeners and Nahel spren could bond it just isn't as attractive an option as bonding with humans. The song compares bonding to listeners and humans as "broth" and "meat" respectively which implies while both can be "eaten" one has a more attractive taste. That is why the nahel spren not bonding to the listeners is such a betrayal, they could if they chose but instead they bonded to the humans, the newcomers rather than the indigenous listeners.

Calamity isn't a Shard, Earth is not a part of the cosmere.
-
I believe he has said that is just a coincidence. (Keep in mind Kaladin was originally named Merin) There is not a universal language. However since the shards have a shared origin there are some linguistic commonalities between worlds. Hoid's (and presumably the Heralds') ability with language has not been explained.

Ooh this is so cool! The only thing I'll say is that I wouldn't call the numbers Thaylen numerals, they're glyphs I think. (I also wouldn't refer to the woman's script and glyphs as being "Alethi" since they are used by other countries as well?) On the Bridge four tattoo page we see number glyphs, the stylized version of year 1173 is just the glyphs for 3 and 7. But man is this stuff awesome! I can't believe that the glyphs are being deciphered. I wonder if the fact that the both the symbols and the sounds the represent are symmetrical will have an impact?

Moving the thread... I think that it is just that Kaladin gets the power-boost from the Ideals with a living shardblade? And he's just a fantastic warrior period.
-
Actually I'm pretty sure he has said that Kaladin will not get another book?

Your best bet would be to upload it to SoundCloud and link it here.

Okay so kogiopsis from tumblr, along with her very awesome roommates lunarubato and swamp-spirit (Ellie from the Acknowledgements!) were at this signing and they have this to share from the general Q&A: They also stayed late and did a Q&A session with Brandon (who was actually waiting for them!) but they have not posted it yet. I will share it when they do!
