  1. You are preaching to the choir on this one, I have taken 3 sick days since 2012 (2 of which I was sick in the hospital for). Each time I feel terrible because I hate giving other people more work to do. Just always fall back on that staying home when you are actually sick is actually best for you and your coworkers.
  2. Hola everybody, I am officially done with my 17th Shard break.
  3. I like this idea a lot, I have been thinking about this particular epigraph a lot recently. I had concluded that it was probably referring to one of the Radiants (*cough Shallan) but that is the type of misdirection Brandon often uses.
  4. We already have an example of this; Sixth of the Dusk has a Perpendicularity that is on a planet with no Shard.
  5. The inside cover of my Bands of Mourning Copy <3. A friend is borrowing my Era 2 books at the moment but I'll take a picture of it when I get it back.
  6. There is a scene in WoK where Shallan comments on seeing someone wandering the stacks of the Palanaeum, Brandon has confirmed this is indeed Paliah. WoB referencing this from 2013; Brandon confirmed this theory was actually correct in person for me last year at a signing when I brought it up to him:
  7. Am I the only one who really likes Amaram? Sure, he's a terrible human, but he is an extremely interesting character.
  8. Working on it, I Keep circling back to Jasnah's assassination. BS has RAFO'd me on it twice now, once in person and once via signed book, I should note the in person one got the same sly reaction that basically said, nope... Not touching that one right now...
  9. Indeed, I'm most interested in that Dalinar's role is considered important to the Cosmere rather than just Roshar, although that isn't too surprising considering Odium. I suspect it is indeed, giving the nature of what we do know from the Diagram a contingency plan being included seems likely. @Titan Arum is correct this is from Weller via Brandon's website.
  10. I got my copy today and I had asked for a new piece of information about the Diagram that is important to the Cosmere.
  11. @TwiLyghtSansSparkles
  12. Here are a couple of relevant WoBs. In addition, I have spoken with Brandon briefly regarding Frost at a signing and he confirmed that he is indeed a dragon.
  13. I think you are over thinking this, It seems much more likely to me that the Dor is just the result of so much Investiture being present without a Sentient mind to guide it. It is strongly suggested that the same would have happened with Preservation if Kelsier wasn't so stubborn about the being dead thing... A couple of Relevent WoB:
  14. I'm not sure if we know for sure that Frost is not a Vessel, but we can make a reasonably educated guess that he is not. He is a Dragon however, not that that effects whether or not he is a Vessel. As for Yolenites, With the exception of characters in the Liars of Partinel excerpts and the original Dragonsteel manuscript the only Yolenites we know of are the 16 original Vessels and Hoid, I'm not sure we even know 100% that Frost is from Yolen although it is strongly implied.
  15. Khriss and Nazh most certainly know about the shattering. Secret History spoiler: Also, as @Patar said, Frost likely knows about it per his conversation with Hoid in the Letters (he may have even been involved).
  16. @Argent, @Spoolofwhool, Thanks for the clarifications guys. I just scoured through the WoBs on Roshar and its "people", now my only real conclusion is that we don't have enough confirmed information to make an actual conclusion.
  17. My understanding is that Roshar existed prior to Honor/Cultivation/Odium coming to Roshar. The Listeners were native to Roshar but the humans were not there until the Shards came to Roshar. Brandon has confirmed that Rosharan humans have innate investiture similar to people from Scadrial. I may have been making a logical leap that this was because the Shards created them.
  18. I think all Humans on Roshar (excluding the world-hoppers) would qualify as Children of Honor. Similarly I suspect you could call the people of Scadrial Children of Preservation/Ruin/Harmony.
  19. To clarify this a little more; typically the bulk of a Shard's power is contained in the Spiritual Realm. Dominion and Devotion's powers have mixed and the majority of it (the Dor) exists in the Cognitive Realm. This is what is making travel to Sel through the Cognitive Realm difficult.
  20. You are making a conclusion here based on a logical fallacy. Correlation does not imply causality. Just because a force opposes something, does not mean that the it is its opposite. The more I consider the "opposing force" the more I think that it just refers to the Vessels of the shard who split up Adonalsium's power and took it for themselves. Rather than an outside influence giving Rayse the ability to splinter other Shards. I suspect that any of the shards has the capacity to splinter a shard (from a raw power standpoint). Each Vessel's lack of skill, desire, and in some cases (like Preservation for example) their intent is really what stops them from doing it. Rayse/Odium on the other hand has the skill, desire, and his Intent plays nicely with destroying other Shards. @Pagerunner, you are a ninja my friend. An upvote for you.
  21. This thread will likely be of some interest to you. It is not a full catalog like you describe but it is a good starting point.
  22. Something I was thinking about during a recent Stormlight re-read: The Stonewards, Lightweavers, Windrunners, and Edgedancers may be the Radiant Orders who use Squires. This is loose speculation at best but we do know that the Windrunners have squires and I can't help but think that the Lightweavers would too as Shallan's soliders and slaves seem like they could be her proto-squires. If the Lightweavers do indeed have squires, then using their order's placement on the chart as reference, it isn't a huge leap to extrapolate that the parallel orders (Stonewards and Edgedancers) would also use squires. As I said though, wild speculation.
  23. Relevant WoB:
  24. Damnation, NJ is the closest to me... looks like I'm not going to this one as it is like a 5.5hour drive. X_X
