  1. This is how the Era 2 books started out but they evolved quite a bit from their inception. Mistborn was origonally planned as three Trilogies and the AOL books were supposed to be an offshoot story. This has been changed and there are now 4 Eras of Mistborn rather than 3 Trilogies. They are quite Cosmerically relevant and to date are the best resource we have regarding Connection in the Cosmere.
  2. I completely agree with @Pagerunner & @Weltall. It should also be noted that Kelsier just doesn't fit in with what we know about the 17th Shard. They preach non-intervention and Kelsier compulsively meddles.
  3. Specifically, have you read the epilogue of Bands of Mourning?
  4. Sadly, I am no stranger to it. I did it with Wheel of Time and am still doing it with A Song of Ice and Fire, one more series will do no harm. On that note, I suppose the Cosmere counts towards the waiting although Brandon's machine like writing speed makes that notably more bearable. Someday I'll start a series that is finished... but not today.
  5. Pagerunner is completely correct. Relevent WoBs:
  6. I just finished Rothfuss' The Wise Man's Fear this morning. I'll probably quickly read through The Slow Regard of Silent Things then I think I am going to re-read Warbreaker as it has been a couple of years.
  7. Beat me to it. Well played, I was literally typing a response.
  8. There are actually a couple of WoBs that suggest you may be on to something here:
  9. This seems to imply that Nalan is directly addressing Szeth: It is a matter of grammar; Using a comma and then "but" means you are referring to two independent clauses. If Nalan were saying "your people revere... but they do not worship...", then the comma would be grammatically incorrect as the clauses would not be independent of one another. The comma itself indicates that when Nalan says "You" he isn't referring to the Shin he is referring to Szeth.
  10. I've always interpreted this as Nale saying that while the Spren are the Shin gods they are not Szeth's god.
  11. While I'm sure Nightblood will be able to feed off of the Stormlight in spheres, I think you are vastly underestimating the rate in which he can consume Investiture.
  12. The Listener's Song of Secrets confirms that the Unmade are indeed the Listener's gods.
  13. I would have to go with the Well of Ascension, my main issue with it is the pacing is just off and the story doesn't seem to flow in the same way Brandon's other works do. With that said, I still enjoy it.
  14. Xbox/PS4/PC? I play on the Xbox NA server.
  15. Too add to this, we also see this honor displayed during the Bridgemen assault on the Tower. Kaladin acknowledges how the Parshendi avoid attacking Teft when his arm is wounded.
  16. Yes, Nightblood will feed on any Investiture. Relevent WoB: As for the pain while wielding Nightblood, we don't actually know for sure as we haven't seen him wield NB yet. With that said, we can make a reasonable assumption that it would indeed hurt him but probably not as much as having breath removed as Stormlight doesn't "stick" to a person in the same way.
  17. Zinc/Zinc Rioting and Compounding Mental Quickness seem pretty good to me.
  18. I don't think their motivation was anything like this; Based on Amaram's comments near the end of WoR we can make the logical leap that Gavilar was a Son of Honor and wanted to return the Listener gods (the Unmade) to return the Voidbringers. He wanted this because he believed that the return of the Voidbringers would force the Heralds to return which appears to be the base goal of the Sons of Honor. The Listeners went into exile in the first place to escape the control of their gods (the Unmade). The Listeners were not trying to start a war with the Alethi, they were just willing to do anything to stop the return of the Unmade. I would argue that the war was just a bi-product of the assassination of Gavilar that the Listeners viewed as an acceptable cost for stopping the return of their gods. As for Chasmfiends and Thunderclasts they are unrelated. Chasmfiends are just greatshells that pupate in the shattered plains, Thunderclasts are stone simulacrum that are animated by Voidspren. The notion that the Chasmfiends are related to the Listener gods is a misconception by the humans of Roshar who did not understand that the Listener gods were the Unmade.
  19. Relevent WoB:
