  1. @Elenion, how does Manukos being lynched not hurt the Elims if he is one? That sounds very odd and suspicious.
  2. Yeah, I just wanted to also note that you're not the only one, so that others begin to think actively about the inactives.
  3. Ignoring inactives? Didn't you see my nice analysis of activity last night? I simply think that an active Elim is more of a threat right now, so I'm focusing on that first.
  4. Kintas had been on Roshar for about 3 weeks (by this planet's reckoning, and he was fascinated. And bored. The native flora and fauna were amazingly unique among the worlds in the Cosmere, almost all of them hard-shelled and built to weather the storms that swept across the planet with ferocity. Kintas had obtained a calendar with predictions of some of the upcoming highstorms so he travel as safely as possible, and had ended up joining up with a caravan for a good part of his journey to the Shattered Plains, but even so, some of those storms had been terrifying. By the Colors, there were few more dangerous worlds he knew of! At the same time, though, it all looked so much the same. Rocks. A few bits of green or brown or red here and there, but the crem that came with the storms left most things one uniform color. Hence, boring. He'd done all the studying of the local ecology he wished, and now he wanted to observe the Surgebinders instead. They were the true reason he was here, after all. He didn't anticipate one of the spren bonding with him. He simply wanted to learn all he could about how it all worked. He'd learned the first oath of the Radiants before coming to Roshar, and it fascinated him since it was so like how he'd lived his life. Life before Death. He'd literally done that, and then gained another life, but he also understood placing life before death, not killing or sacrificing needlessly. Strength before Weakness. He knew he wasn't among the strongest out there, but what he had he always tried to use to protect those weaker. That would include using his Divine Breath to save someone if needed, though he'd hold onto it until the right moment. Journey before Destination. Kintas didn't even know his true destination, but that made the journey even more important to him. As one of the Radiants transported his group to Urithiru through the gigantic Oathgate (it seemed there were only a few who could operate it, though he didn't know the name of the red-haired girl who had activated the gate this time), he gaped in unrestrained awe. He'd never expected such majesty here. Sure, he hadn't been to any of the big cities on Roshar yet, but even so, this tower had to be unique. He barely even noticed following the procession into the room with the raised dias. Dalinar's voice brought him to his senses. He stepped to the side intending to merely observe rather than take the test himself, and watched as candidate after candidate approach. Most seemed to not even understand the words they spoke. Those that did were able to draw in light from the sphere Dalinar held. Kintas knew from reports that he could likely draw in that light as well, using it to keep him alive as well as Breath could, but it felt like it would be a deception if he was not actually a Radiant. The words reverberated through him each time he heard them, though, particularly when someone else meant them, and suddenly without realizing it, he found himself face to face with Dalinar. "Speak the words." "Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination." Kintas had no hesitation, no difficulty forming the words, and suddenly he knew. He wasn't here to simply observe. He was here to BE. He breathed, and the light streamed into him, briefly illuminating his skin. The feeling was euphoric, and he barely registered the cape being placed on his shoulders. He was going to get first-hand experience with this amazing system of magic.
  5. Remart thump-stomped out into the village square. "Enias? Enias, you rat, you set up Felix to be murdered yesterday when people started muttering about you! And then I'll bet it was you or one of your buddies who attacked Ryth last night like a coward! You better be rusting ready to see the inside of a grave. Where are you, Enias?" Okay, so my reasoning here is fairly simple. Manukos has been giving me some weird feelings, sure, but he's got a very different style and is also pretty new to SE. But then I looked at the last cycle, and Manukos was starting to get some votes (4 I believe, though I don't remember the order of all of this and it's more than I want to look up) and suddenly a big bandwagon forms on Drake. It took off beyond what makes sense to me, which makes me think the Elims were among those that pushed it to save Manukos. Thus, my suspicion swung back around to him full strength. I was tunneling on Herowannabe before, btw, and I haven't let it go completely, but obviously I'm not getting much agreement, so it'd be a waste to just further divide this Lynch. @Conquestor, I won't hold you to your promise to vote with me, but if you do still want to, there it is. EDIT: That also means that I'd be 99% certain that of Assassin in Burgundy, Manukos, Herowannabe, and Hemalurgic Headshot, at least one or two is an Elim. Convenient to see Herowannabe in that list, along with the other two big suspicions I've been seeing (Assassin and HH). They're not all Elims, sure, but I would be surprised if none of them were. Wilson is still a possibility I suppose, but I've trusted her almost from the beginning now and haven't seen anything that would change that.
  6. That's a lot of responsibility! Heh, I appreciate it, though. I've been gone all day, but I'll get a chance tonight or tomorrow morning to catch up and place my vote.
  7. I would say that Wonko is 100% cleared since Arinian revealed his role as well. A coppercloud wouldn't have made him show up as a thug. The others, though, I hadn't really considered that.
  8. @Araris Valerian, that's entirely fair, and I tried to be clear that I wasn't using that as a hard and fast guide. It just took long enough to compile that list that sorting it by quality too was beyond my capabilities. You'll be bumped down on my suspicion list now. @Assassin in Burgundy, I kinda already knew that I think. You've been someone I've felt others were tunneling on but I didn't actually feel was guilty anyways.
  9. That's fair, @Elenion, but if I'm doing game discussion in an RP segment, it's pretty clear, or I'll often sum it up separately too. Won't work for everyone, but I don't think it'll hurt anyone for some or many of us to adopt it.
  10. @galendo, the other important fact there is that Feruchemy as a magic system is of both Preservation and Ruin, meaning Ruin has a direct "line in" so to speak, as the memories were stored. He could alter them because of that, so the metal was meaningless at that point.
  11. Ok, so since I agree that the secret is probably something that forced the Radiants to give up their bonds, instead of making them choose it, the scary thought just occurred to me: who else knows it? Did Taravangian include it in the Diagram? If so, does Graves know it? Anyone else who has recieved all or part of the Diagram? We know there are even differing opinions within those that are following it, and to believe none of them would share something like that with someone else at some point seems naive. Perhaps Odium wanted to make sure someone knew it, though I don't think he was behind the Diagram itself, even indirectly.
  12. Ok, a non-Sanderson game idea I think would be awesome (could probably work just fine in a Sanderson setting, but I'm not sure which right now): Set the game in the Old Republic, KOTOR era (for those who haven't played the game, the Sith Empire is at pretty much full strength, openly conquering worlds and with an army of both force-users and regular soldiers). A group of Jedi and non-Jedi is inserted into the Sith army with a mission of assassinating key leaders. Everyone else will be playing Sith soldiers or officers, so the RP will be from the perspective of evil characters instead of good, the opposite of the normal approach (I guess infiltrating the Canton of Inquisition or something could work here, for a Sanderson setting). The assassination targets would be secret, but the Jedi team would have the standard Elim kill per night, and some type of seeker role (the Sith would have seekers and other roles too of course) to help them find the targets they have to kill to win. They wouldn't be required to outnumber the Sith, but they would win if they do, as well as if they simply kill all their targets. Edit: I think for my game when it comes up (since I committed to running a normal style game first, instead of my Reckoners game, which I still want to run in the future), I'll do a game set on Taldain, in Lossand. A criminal gang setting up shop and asserting their power by killing off competition and innocents alike. Standard ruleset, few if any secret roles, not role madness. Easy to play and run. Edit 2: Can someone who earns the right to choose a non-Sanderson setting please do a Firefly 'Verse game?
  13. That's your play style, but others may differ. Lots of people lay low as an Elim, even after a few Elims die. We have, what, 2-3 left probably? If I was an Elim, I'd stay active personally, but I know others wouldn't. In fact, that's why I think it's likely there's at least one active Elim, as well as 1-2 inactive Elims.
  14. @STINK had a good point about the RP/non-RP coloring in AG3, btw, and tags being impossible to read. Several of us have started adopting purple text for non-RP posts, but can we switch that and everyone use either purple or perhaps brown for RP, and leave discussion black? That will help a lot. I'll adjust for myself from now on.
  15. I was using purple for non-RP (suggested and adopted by some us just recently), but I'll change that now. I was noticing that too and just hadn't fixed it. From now on, I'm going to stick to black for non-RP and put RP in brown, I think. I do find going inactive to be somewhat suspicious myself, when it's not for stated RL reasons. It seems to me a good way to set yourself up as seeming like you're there, but then avoid casting suspicion on yourself with votes and discussion. I need to go through and see who has and hasn't voted, too, and compare that to posting (posting a lot without voting is something else I want to watch for). EDIT: if anyone's curious about my methods or the other people I checked out, here's my activity chart.
  16. Ok, fun stuff! I just spent an hour or so going back through all 40 pages of the previous thread, just taking note of who has been active vs inactive by cycle. My thinking was that people who have been low active (one or two posts per cycle, and for only some cycles) and true inactives need to be our lynch targets, in addition to the few shady actives. Here's my conclusions (I ignored those that are hard-cleared or that have been active enough to not be suspicious based on their posting habits): Araris has been low active 9 times, and inactive 5. (I'm counting nights and days separately there). Suspicious. Assassin was low active or inactive until D5, when he became very active. Less suspicious, but concerning. Conquestor hasn't yet posted more than once per round (though often once in the day and once in the night), except back in D1. Very suspicious, but of course he keeps voting for me, which kinda doesn't feel like an Elim move, actually. Drought is almost completely inactive and hasn't posted since N3 unless I missed something (sorry if so). Would support lynching. Elbereth has been inactive since N5, and was active only two cycles (D1 and D4) prior to that. Suspicious. Gamma has been low active or inactive the entire game. Suspicious. Mage has been low active or inactive except for D1 and D3. Suspicious. Manukos, I really thought was more active, but my tally says no more than 2 posts in any day or night, but always that level of activity. Very suspicious, looks like trying to fly under the radar but not be truly inactive. Orlok has been completely inactive most cycles, only truly active N4 with two posts total anywhere else. Would support lynching. Sart has been low active or inactive except D1. Would support lynching. Seonid has been low active or inactive about half the game. Low suspicion overall, but watching. Silverblade has also been low active or inactive about half the game. Somewhat higher suspicion due to things he's said, though. Stick has been low active since N5, but was active prior to that. Somewhat suspicious, but not sure if there are RL issues. STINK has been inactive mostly since D4, active before that. Suspicious. Wyrm has been mostly low active, with just a few missed nights, but never more than 2 posts in a round. I had previously decided I trusted him based on posts, but I can't recall exactly why right now. Whew. Lots of work! Here's a little RP. Remart was sick of it all. Ryth was getting bloodthirsty, it was true, but the whole town was just about to blow up completely like a powder keg. At this rate, there'd be no one left if the koloss ever did actually arrive. Maybe that was the plan, in fact. He headed back to the inn, but instead of his usual ale, he asked Grumbles to make a pot of coffee. He took the entire pot (though he did wisely add some alcohol to it) and headed out into the night to watch a few of the more suspicious members of the town. He could move very quietly when he really felt like it, though it was a pain (he added a padded cloth to his stump, but then that made it a bit too long so he limped oddly, which made it even harder to move both quickly and quietly), so he was prepared if he needed to spy on someone without them realizing it. The fog would make that very annoying, however. He did, by chance, overhear an encounter between the Terrisman and Nicki. They seemed to be talking about a spike, which was a scary concept considering their warning, but it sounded like they were trying to figure out what a spike was, which could be good or bad. He'd keep an eye on them both. Mr Hoid was nowhere to be seen as he trudged around. Probably off drinking somewhere, but Remart hadn't seen him around much except when he'd speak up to cast another vile accusation at Remart. He shook his head. The man was probably crazy, but likely just that. Speaking of those he couldn't find, Drought hadn't been around at all in a while. The blind man was nice enough usually, but Remart couldn't help wondering if he was faking the blindness as a cover, and if he'd been behind some of the attacks in the night. El was similarly missing most of the time, and as an orphan would have been used to sneaking about, likely. Carmichael was only showing his face occasionally, which was quite the gamble for him. The guy cared about how he looked, but right now Remart thought he just looked suspicious. He couldn't find him that night, though. Enias, on the other hand, kept poking his nose into everything, not saying much at a time, but prodding and stirring up trouble. The man was trouble, Remart was sure of it. Even right now he was telling some sob story about being misunderstood, though Remart couldn't tell if he was drunk or just hamming it up. The town was ready to toss the man off of a cliff tomorrow, it seemed, though Joe was getting just as much heat. He claimed to be useless, but that was likely a cover too. Rusts, I'm becoming too paranoid. I think everyone's just pretending now. Remart couldn't help it, though. His gut still didn't feel quite right, even though the pewter had mostly healed it. He hadn't had enough, though, and by now he was sure it would scar. Where was Locke hiding, for that matter? Ryth? Stick? The insane guy who claimed to be a Mistborn (Remart doubted that very strongly, considering he'd never really shown any evidence of anything but crazy)? Something was definitely not right.
  17. Whoops, @Herowannabe I'd forgotten Bugsy was cleared. Thanks. And yeah, calling them back is nice, but I do think it's incredibly likely one or more of them is an Elim.
  18. I swear, RP and more analysis is coming in just a little while. For now, I want to say that I'm very suspicious of Manukos, since that seemed like a bandwagon to save him, but I'm also suspicious of the less active. Mage less than the others simply because the game I played with him as an Elim he was very active, but definitely Orlok, Sart, Drought, Silverblade, Stink, and Bugsy. None of them voted yesterday, which might be smart of them if I'm wrong about Manukos, since a villager would get lynched either way and they don't have to say anything that might implicate them.
  19. Are you talking about the one about "taking the Dawnshard" and climbing the steps made for Heralds? It doesn't specify a shape for the Dawnshard if so.
  20. Yeah, the bandwagon is the reason I didn't vote for Drake this time. I'm wary of him, but I hate seeing bandwagons form with no real reason, and Manukos is always somewhat random, but that vote change and some of the stuff he's said in previous cycles has been suspicious.
  21. I don't disagree with most of your logic, but I have to take exception to this point. Brandon knew before he started what the Recreance was going to be, I'm sure, and he'll probably either have us completely blindsided or saying "Duh, I should have figured that out". Have confidence in the man.
  22. That earned a legitimate eye roll.
  23. Remart snorted. Mr Hoid was still droning on about him being one of the "spiked", but fortunately, no one was really taking him seriously. Remart definitely took his turkey leg seriously, though. More than his metal leg, in fact. He couldn't eat that.
  24. Apologies for the lack in RP, I hope to make up for it soon. For now, while I'm not abandoning my suspicions of Herwynbe, Enias (Manukos) has been setting off red flags for me as well lately, as has Felix (Drake Marshall). Granted, I was more than half convinced Wonko was going to be Elim, and I agree that he's cleared now, so don't count on my reads completely. Those suspicions have one vote each for now, so I'm putting my vote on Enias (Manukos).
