  1. Kintas smiled at Ranatar's offer. "That is most generous of you, and I will certainly hold you to that commitment. It is nice to enjoy the company of a fellow scholar." "I'm afraid you might not believe me if I told you where I truly come from. Suffice to say that it is a very different…world there. The colors of one's eyes are irrelevant, but we do have a fascination with color itself. It's a truly breathtaking land, and I wish I could show it to you and others, but I would be happy to describe it in detail sometime, and show you some of the paintings I brought with me of images from my homeland." Apologies for the bad puns. (If you don't remember, Kintas/Quintus is actually from Nalthis.) BTW, it's not the border that clashes, but the words themselves: @randuir
  2. Kintas glanced to the side as the man approached. He had completely forgotten that on Roshar, men were rarely involved in scientific study, unless they were an Ardent or one of the seclusionary Stormwardens. And yet, here was one of those aforementioned Stormwardens introducing himself, and a Radiant Initiate at that. Kintas could hardly believe his luck, though he contained his excitement and tried to remain casual. "I am not an Alethi, not exactly, and the Veden proscriptions against men being involved in scientific endeavors seems…primitive to me. In fact, I find the entire science behind fabrials and the Ten Essences fascinating. If I'm not mistaken, though, the Stormwardens use an entirely separate system based primarily on mathematical equations, no? How is it that you can predict the coming of the highstorms with such accuracy?" He paused for a moment. "If you can speak of that, of course. Forgive me, I got carried away. I am Kintas, a simple scholar. I had no intention of even becoming a Radiant when I arrived, but it just…felt right, if that makes sense. It's not a feeling I'm prone to." I just want to point out to those that are adopting the purple for non-RP posts that it causes annoyances with tagging people and reading those, so I recommend coloring your RP instead. Only problem is I can't do that on mobile, so I'll have to go back and correct those. Anyone know how to use brown with just the code? The usual color=brown code doesn't work for brown (it just doesn't color it at all).
  3. @Drake Marshall, the rules say that if a player uses their action, they lose their spren (if they're one of the Unjust), which reads to me pretty specifically as just them. This will definitely be a dangerous Elim team, but we can simply try to make sure we earn all the Honor we can to hopefully bond spren before them. @Amanuensis, do you have a plan in mind for the RP to move to, or will you supplement it, or should we just RP freely including leaving if we wish?
  4. Damnation. Patriots take another one.
  5. Tied, and into overtime instead. First time in Super Bowl history.
  6. I'm honestly shocked. I was rooting for the Falcons, but thought they'd lose. They're shutting down the Patriots almost completely instead!
  7. Neil Armstrong (couldn't go back to cheese)
  8. Aman, I have to add, I am floored by your write up. I really hope for your sake that most of the stuff you'll use has been written already, but no matter what it's astounding. For tactics, in addition to watching Honor gained and trying to track voting/interrogation tactics, I'd love to have some strong PM conversations, which is something I haven't been good at. I'll probably pick a few people that I've played with and at least one person I haven't to PM, but anyone can of course PM as well. I'll make sure at least 2-3 people know if I bond a spren, though whether I tell them what type will depend on how much I think I can trust them by that time. Let's try not to make too much public, though, including suggesting actions for people (we ran into trouble in AG3 because of that I think).
  9. Kintas looked through the opening to the roof of Urithiru's tower at the gathering and ostentation he saw on display. It was a muted splendor, to be sure, with glowing spheres instead of blazing torches or shining magical symbols (he'd seen both of those before) and possessed a distinct sense of artistry, but was no less glamorous for that. Several initiates were gathered around tables with food or the rainbow-hued wine, while others spoke with Shallan, the red-haired Veden woman who had operated the Oathgate for his group, or to Dalinar himself, including… Was that Hoid? Quintus (Kintas, he mentally corrected himself, trying to maintain his composure) hadn't seen the man since he'd virtually abandoned Quintus on Nalthis. Sure, he'd been exceptionally helpful and truly seemed to care for Quintus at the time, but he had a bad habit of disappearing when he could be useful, presumably for some other important task or purpose (or perhaps just to find someone else to annoy). At the moment, he was dressed in black with a sword on his hip, even though he'd never used a weapon as far as Kintas could remember. He couldn't hear the conversation between Dalinar and Hoid, nor the initiate that had been kneeling in front of him, but it was obvious that Hoid had actually brought Dalinar good news, though he was summarily dismissed before Kintas even recovered enough to consider approaching him. Just as Hoid slipped out the door, though, he turned and winked just for a moment at Kintas. Guess he recognizes me. Kintas didn't even pause to wonder about that fact. He'd learned long ago that Hoid knew far more than he would ever let on, and he'd stopped trying to second-guess the man, if he was even truly a man. He wasn't going to get answers from him for now, though, so instead he found himself making his way over to the tent where Shallan was talking about the fabrials that were in place around the roof in a few different places. He had a glass of wine in his hand, drinking sociably, but considering he wasn't capable of getting drunk, and didn't actually need food anyways, it was merely for show. "…augmenting fabrial, so it actually increases the amount of heat in the air around it. There's a flamespren trapped inside a ruby in there, and the fabrial uses that to heat the entire tent here to a precise temperature, far more efficiently than a fire would. Navani has so many more ideas, but this is definitely the nicest one right now, since I'm pretty sure it's about to be winter, and this tower is so high up! Now, those elevators you rode on the way up here, those we think use some type of conjoined fabrials with a counterweight, but we haven't actually been able to get at the mechanism yet, especially since we don't want to break anything, so it'll require more study to be sure. They're far more advanced than any fabrials the artifabrians have developed in the the last few, well, centuries. More than the Half-Shards Jah Keved tried, although those are pretty amazing." Kintas loved hearing the science behind the various magics in the worlds he visited, so he could already tell he was going to love spending time around Shallan and the other fabrial scientists. He let himself just blend into the group of initiates there, not feeling a need to socialize tonight, but instead indulging his true scholarly nature. Kintas may not plan on being social, but feel free to strike up a conversation if you'd like. He's just not going to go looking for one. Drought, that's an excellent plan (my impression is that there will not be a public tally of Honor earned, but I would be curious as well). I think I'll try to track that myself, though I know that not everyone will have reason to trust everything I say, so of course we should have others doing the same, if not everyone (I guarantee most people won't spend the time, though). I had to go look it up to remember: 3 discussion posts gets 1 Honor, plus another if you also do 2 RPs at least 100 words. That's not going to be something that everyone will earn certainly, so I suspect keeping track of that will actually be extra helpful. EDIT: I just adapted the spreadsheet I made for AG3, so I can keep track of Honor earned per night, but also get a running total on my main page of it. This should be interesting.
  10. I'm mixed on inactives, as I mentioned in some PMs. I want the truly inactive to come back, but those who are just barely active worry me as that's a very valid Elim tactic. I'm actually going to join Hero in voting for Gamma Fiend. He's been low active, and while Mage has as well, he was very active when I was an Elim with him, so he's either got RL issues (I think he mentioned something) or he's probably not an Elim. Drought, you were another I was worried about, but glad to see you posting again, so at the very least I don't want to lynch you today. Gamma, yes, I saw your post too, but it's not really swaying my opinion. Feel free to try to convince me otherwise, however; I'm obviously open to changing my mind and vote.
  11. Rusts...I'm not doing so hot lately. Oops. Yep, as of last night, until further notice.
  12. Actually, the Oathgate isn't dead center. It's one of the plateaus she expected to be longer and skinnier to the south(?) of the center, which she identified since it broke the pattern. If it was dead center it wouldn't have affected the pattern.
  13. Thanks for the response, Hero. For now, I guess I will relax those suspicions again unless I see something more concrete. Herwynbe I'm not so sure on either Stink or Gamma, I have them about equal on my suspicion chart. I'll wait a bit and see if more inactives respond. Since he wasn't summoned, just voted on, @Gamma Fiend, where are you? Edit: @Silverblade5, I listed you as suspicious to me two nights ago due to your posting pattern and the way you've said some things (though I'd honestly have to go back and look up what made me suspicious in your posts). Since you're the only other one of those suspicions who hasn't been summoned, I figured I'd include you so we can get some more thoughts from you too.
  14. I'll be fair, initially it was largely RP things that stuck out (which are irrelevant), but mostly I honestly just find it suspicious when someone is as vocal as you (you've been one of the active posters) almost never gets any accusations. I guess it's tunneling, and I don't honestly had a lot more than that gut feeling that you should be getting more scrutiny, but there it is (the questions thing was really just for RP). The fact that you did push us into lynching Dalinar is good, except if you were spiked and knew he'd survive it, it would be a great way to earn trust from the village. Obviously I was wrong about Dalinar at the time, but I don't for a moment believe that many or all of the Spiked didn't vote for him either, or even bus him actively once it was obvious he was going to be the main village target. That said, I know a lot of that is still vague, and I'm open to ideas, but I simply don't have any other particular suspicions, beyond inactives, and I wanted to see if any of them would respond to their summons first.
  15. Remart was getting more and more pessimistic. His beer was getting stale, his legs both ached (and nothing he could do about the phantom ache in his missing leg), and the town was seemingly ready to just give up. Stink was openly saying he was done, and many of the voices in the town that had been so loud were now silent, buried in their graves. His gut had been wrong about so many more things than food, though at least he'd been right about Nyah. Who else would die before this all ended, though? Herwynbe. That was the man's name. The Terrisman who had been so consistently around and involved, yet always seemed to escape suspicion. It was time the man answered his questions. Remart gulped down his ale and set off in search of the man.
  16. You're missing Aman's required 200 word introduction.
  17. I used to work with the children's ministry and then the youth group at my church (for I think 12-13 years at least), but I've often felt I was just kinda...there, not really all that meaningful except to run the computers. Today I had expressed that feeling and got a wonderful message from one of my students about how much I had meant to her and had kept her involved. It was really awesome to hear and something I needed today.
  18. D'oh. I was reasonably certain about Manukos. Oh well, that makes my suspicions swing back to Herowannabe or HH I think, but I'll be fine if we want to target an inactive too. PMs will be nice to ask them back first, and I'm open to any PMs, but I don't know if I care to start any myself. We'll see. Remart just grunted and thunk-stomped back to his bed. He'd deal with a hangover tomorrow, but nothing some salted beef wouldn't cure.
  19. I have to agree with @cometaryorbit here. Nightblood is a devastating weapon on a Cosmeric level, sure, but in the context of Shashara using it in that one battle, we're missing something. As a single weapon on a field of enemies, what we've seen still isn't devastating enough to warrant murdering your own wife just to stop the knowledge from existing. There has to be more (which we'll probably find out eventually).
  20. Ah, thanks a bunch! Much better than the Svrakiss.
  21. I'm actually not sure what an Originator is. First time I've seen a rank I couldn't place.
  22. Cheerios
