  1. More or less, yes. Though not all of them do use a languages, like Chayshan more uses patterns. The way I see it, it is like an intellectual investiture. It gets into the nitty and gritty into specifics. As for Roshar, it could be bonds, but we have seen other forms of bonds off of Roshar, so I am reluctant to just give the planet that. This does make me consider the difference between the planets. Like could this be the reason why it is hard for a radiant to get off of Roshar?(with their spren) Like if you 'buy in' the local planets power system then it is hard to take it off world? And maybe this is why Sel is super located even on the certain places in the planet and Scadrial that power could be used anywhere easily. I wonder if Nalthis is similar to Scadrial, Vasher did say the planet is young enough not to have fossils, perhaps this is a hint to Endowment creating the planet? And because they created it, their investiture is also easily able to get off planet(if you get through customs).
  2. I had this question(maybe a theory?) That...is are the magic systems based on the world a shard is on and not the shard itself? Like Scadrial is metallic arts, and it has nothing to do with Preservation or Ruin. While those can change the system some after they invest in it and flavor it their own way(Mistborn/Herm/etc), it would always going to be associated with metals. Nalthis would be associated with colors, Roshar soulcasting(?), Sel Patterns(not 100%, trying to find a connection here), and etc. Though the evidence is a little touch and go, it could explain why Preservation and Ruin both use metals, Why Honor and Cultivation both use surgebinding(or maybe Rhythms?). There is a small amount of evidence of this being why Trell and Odium exist, though those are corrupted from someone else's investiture(they are red?). Like why aren't those shards using their 'own' powers, because the powers that they have when they invest on a planet is based on the planet. The thing that probably most likely supports this is Automony, They have investiture in two locations and it isn't the same power, though they have their own flavor(small things making something magical?). But we also somewhat know that every shard has their own god metal, so that means that they have potential to be metallic based, but don't focus on that. And Odium does have his own spren, so what if there could be Preservation spren as well? That all shard could have their own spren, if the invested on Roshar. Though Scadrial was created by Preservation and Ruin, so I don't know why it is magic based what it is, maybe could do something with the star? This part somewhat escapes me, Scardial could have just defaulted to metals I guess, not sure about this one. This might have to do with the "Pure Tones" part of Brandon's system, perhaps not only shards have a tone, but planet can(but doesn't have to) have their own tones/magical systems, and shards can invest what is already there and make it their own, unless they just make their own planet or go to one that had nothing to build upon? We do know that Roshar had some stuff going before Honor/Cult got there. Maybe it is a little of both, they could make their own magical systems, but it cost more investiture than just buying in what is already there? Like Preservation and Ruin could make their own magic system, but that is all they can do, while Automny can hop onto all these worlds where it is already set but be on multiple? I feel like I have contradicted myself here and could prove/disapprove myself, but I wonder other people's thoughts on this. This post feels like a mess because it was mostly written at 2 am and I got another look at it this morning before I posted it.
  3. Well, normal shardblades wouldn't work, they are both Honor and Cultivation, but Honorblades are just made of Honor.
  4. I mean...wouldn't a fight to the death inherently not go well for someone is a radiant? Life before death. You can not kill to protect kind of thing. It is the same reason Kaladin couldn't kill Elhokar. Like radiants may be able to kill, but it doesn't seem to work for premeditated deaths. The whole idea of a radiant choosing to join battle of champions makes zero chance to me. It is a huge plot hole to me. This is one reason that I think it should be Adolin who should be the champion, and not Dalinor or any other radiant.
  5. I wonder how durable they would be. Like if the item is damaged it would damage the investiture right?
  6. My thought, does Honorblades change your eye color like Shardblades do? Do we know the eye color of Halaran, Szeth or the heralds?
  7. I think that the Highstorm will be his 'plate'. While he fights in it, it will help him fight/protect him.
  8. I wonder if you could take different splinters and create a different shard with a different intention. Like can you take pieces and arrange them into a different way? Like we know the Unmade can change(though they would be corrupted?), why can't a shard change itself with different pieces or such? We know that putting tow shards together makes a different shard.
  9. It is talked about that radiants could give their bonds to other people or something.
  10. I think it probably relates to spren being in different forms than the cognitive one, which spren typically are. Sja-anat is like in between the physical and cognitive(I am not sure if spren are or not?) and this impacts them greatly(might be worse than them just being on the physical one?, small theory I have). And having connection to something helps them keep their mental state. When Syl was losing her connection to Kaladin she began to lose it. Though I don't think it has to do with being connected to Honor, in the release valve WoB, he hinted that spren are still connected to Honor. But I think that Odium has more connection to Odium than the spren have to Honor though, being alive helps.
  11. Yeah, I talked about this else where and the only thing I could come up with is metal is wierd...
  12. Was the spren in the physical form bodies damaged in some way?(besides the effects of them being in the physical realm) If there is then they haven't had time to heal.
  13. Venli even post backstory it did not add that much, the best thing it did was giving us eyes on the Odium's forces. She barely did anything.
  14. Well, all the Bondsmith spren we have seen are in the physical realm(atleast some). Storm father is the storm, Sibling is a city and the Nightwatcher has their own body. I think all the Bondsmith spren might be physical in some way. And because they are, unlike normal spren, already have a body in the physical then it is hard for them to make themselves into another physical form.
  15. Yeah, I agree with this. I would rather see her bond the Nightwatcher, seemed to fit her better than the Sibling. I did not like the whole 'I am not a scholar' thing then realize that she is one.... It would have been better for her to realize that she isn't one and it be okay. She can Cultivate other people to be smart, help people, and that be okay. Helping people achieve stuff that you can't is okay.
  16. We have learned a few things about putting shards in different realms. We know that Odium put Dev/Dom in the cognitive realm and that he did so to make sure others couldn't get the power. Power in the cognitive realm make it pressurized and hard to escape, making it dangerous and plasmaish. Also because it is in the cognitive realm, the power is location based. We also learn that Honor was prepared to be splintered, and merged himself into a cognitive shadow with the storm father(who's on the physical realm?). But Brandon also talks about Honor, who could have had the same problem as the Dor, but with the spren, they act as relief valves so Honor doesn't have that problem(there aren't enough seons to help the Dor). So maybe the power can get wild on the physical realm like the Dor, but doesn't. We also know that Odium could have put the Dor in a better position, but didn't know how. And in RoW we learned that Odium put the Unmade(At least Sja-anat, spell check) in between the physical and the cognitive realm. I think this is what Brandon meant by Odium could have done it better. That's all I know about a shard being put in a different realm other than the spiritual realm. I do have a theory that Honor/Odium could be invested physically or cognitively, like the Dor is, which is why those shards can't leave Roshar? Now think I am thinking about it, I am wondering what splintering a shard with anti-investiture would look like. Because if you meet it with an equal amount of power as a shard, then both would just die. You might be able to splinter a shard with less than that, with maybe just killing the vessel with it. I don't know if you could splinter a shard with it, though we don't know what it takes to splinter a shard. Kill the vessel or weaken the shard by it lying in a agreement. Even throwing Ruin and Preservation together didn't immediately splinter them(?), though they probably would have splintered after a while not having a vessel(or I guess it is possible they could have became sentient). One idea I have is that the Skaze aren't anti-dominion, but maybe corrupted with another anti-investiture. I mean, why not? Though I don't think they have red eyes.
  17. Is it possible that Odium used anti-investiture to splinter Dominion and Devotion, and this is a side effect? Trying to remember if he knew about anti-investiture before. This could be caused by the Dor being stuck in the cognitive realm, because it isn't in the spiritual realm(the warping effect, not that it would make it anti-investiture).
  18. That is mostly how I believe it works.
  19. I don't see why they couldn't. I do find spren names wierd though. There are Honor and Cultivation spren, but Odium uses Void spren, not Odiumspren.
  20. I don't think he is corrupted but... I do think he did lose a big part of his investiture. I think during the Ambition/Mercy/Odium pow wow he had a large piece of his investiture ripped off of him. And I think he has Unmade things and that has used a good amount of his investiture as well. Like look at all of his forces.... Like all of his physical ones(fused/regals?) are all corrupted. His unmade? Like half of them are corrupted. I feel like the ambition/Mercy fight really messed him up, and he had to go somewhere to heal(or go caught by Honor/cultivation), and he settled in Roshar to heal. I feel like he did not start fighting honor until after a while after he invested there. I would love to see how his regular uncorrupted forces actually would fight. I don't think we have any idea at all, have we actually seen his forces? Only thing I can think of is maybe Unmade? But I am not sure about that.
  21. You mean nondeadeye blades and dead eye ones? Because those are the same, but the blades themselves I feel like is a mixture of both honor/cultivation god metals in different proportions depending on the spren type? Something like that, I think he does not explain it well. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/372/#e11949
  22. What is a normal shardblade? Haha. Nondeadeye Shardblades require a bond, and are like of two God metals, which makes things difficult. And they are all made from two God metals, not one. And dead eyes are well... Dead eyes. They are less invested(I believe) and are wierd. Honorblades are the closest to a 'normal' shardblade I believe.
  23. Well, the closest to an atium shard blade would probably be Honorblades I believe. They are made out of a God Metal(?, in the coppermind it talks about being a piece of honor's soul or w/e, but that might just be talkie talk for a godmetal to me)and grant some powers to the user. Now for the normal properties of a shard blade.. We probably need to take a look at deadeye shardblades. They can cut through inanimate objects easily and damage the spiritweb of someone. They also can bond to people... But this part I feel is part of the Honor powerset(bonds). Now what would an Atium shardblade grant? Honor blades grant the power of a surge.... So the power connected with Ruin is... Hemalurgy. Yeah this is gonna get messy. I think when a Ruinblade hurts someone, like Hemalurgy, they take power from the the person hit by it. Instead of it just hurting someone's spiritweb like normal invested blades, they take those pieces with them. And those holding the blade can then use those powers. So Honorblades grant two surges, so a Ruinblade would grant certain hemalurgic taking abilities? So the amount that it could steal is left up for interpretation. But let's say they could steal two to just match Honorblades. So based on the Hemalurgic table you could have a Ruin blade that could steal both Strength(Iron) and Connection/Identity(Duralumin). So a Ruin blade would be destructive as hell. I also doubt it would heal the user, that doesn't seem to be part of Ruin's power set(and Honorblades heal less than normal radiant shardblades, probably because of Cultivation). Now what extra bits could they have? We, like shardblades turning people's eyes blue Ruin blades might change the user's eyes black. And maybe slow down the aging of the user?
  24. We see Kaladin fall down out of the sky. We hear what we think are drum beats and then the screen flashes a black blue light. We jump to a scene of Adolin getting circled all alone fighting, drums still beating. Another black blue light flash and we hear a child like voice say "I am closer to death than ever. Surrounded by evils on all sides. Men and singers alike seeking to abuse me.". Screen flashes in a soft green blue light. We see the scene of the Windrunners protecting a wierd flying object. Another black blue light flash, and we see Navani and Raboniel together. Raboniel says "I'm so tired of this war. So tired of capturing, killing, losing, dying.". "We should end it then." "Not while Odium lives." "You'd actually kill him? If you had a chance?" And Raboniel sounded a Rhythm somewhat as if embarrassed. We see Kaladin still falling in the sky. And we hear in his voice "Someone needs to do better for these people, Someone needs to talk to them, try different treatments, see what they think works. What actually helps. we’re going to try something new." We see Navani and see Moash creep towards her with his blade. Navani sings the Rhythm of Honor and we see her shoot out lazer beams and says "Journey before destination, you bastard." And we go back to Kaladin still falling and the drums stop, and in Dalinar's voice we hear "These Words are accepted." We then see the big Rythm of War name of the film show up. And after the trailer name we see Design and Hoid. “Design!” Wit said, turning on her. “What did I tell you about spoiling the ending of stories!” “Something stupid, so I forgot it!” “Don’t spoil stories!” “That’s stupid. The story is really long. He needs to hear the ending so he’ll know it’s worth listening all the way.” “That’s not how this works,” Wit said. “It needs drama. Suspense. Surprise.”
  25. I think you mean that they didn't exist?
