I mean, like the oathgates and the elevators, the spren from the soulcasters, they were all persuaded to go into the gems to do this work. In RoW it talked about how the...elevator spren?(elevation spren?) wanted to do the work because it ties them to the physical world, giving them the power be able to think more, like it does with the radiant bond.

I mean, it is all filtered through their shards(I am not sure we have seen any magic not shard related, besides creatures?). Some of them get them through different things, like the Radiants can't even do certain things with their powers because of the oaths. Allomancy can be somewhat changed by Harmony and Preservation. Sel is very archaic. The powers aren't them same because of this filter, Ruin's power wouldn't really be able to save people for another example.

We really don't know anything about it, there could just be an anti shard who is the opposite/whatever you want to call it of Honor, I am not sure.

Maybe something with them being connected to Honor first, then Honor turned tot he humans instead, which caused them to lose their forms of powers?

I went ahead and went through all of Sanderson's cosmere books and look for "Warmth". Wow, there is a lot of "Warmth" in all of Sanderson's cosmere books. I still tried to filter out the ones people feel from actual heat. Some of these may not be applicable to the conversation, but I am still listing them here just in case. Some of them are repeats, (mistborn), or people feeling it from stormlight, so I try to not repeat those. Lot of other cosmere spoilers here Elantris and Mistborn, doing spoil tags here since Mdrosss said they have not read any other cosmere books: WoK, Szeth kills people, feels it from stormlight WoK, Kaladin, I am not sure about this one, maybe from Syl, but idk Wok, Shallan blood being soul casted? Oathbreaker, Dalinar, feeling that warmth again Oathbreaker, Dalinar finishing the book(or was he just starting it?), I think the is talking about that warmth, instead of from the window. RoW, Kaladin, being saved by Ren boi, we might got something here chief, It might just be Renny but...idk RoW, Adolin with Maya...this one might be something here There is also a few times Kaladin mentions warmth in Braize, but I feel it isn't applicable because it is Wit and Shallan/Veil/it is confusing feels warmth and stuff, not going to list it here, this one is confusing and there is a bit of it to me Sanderson might be trolling with us, in RoW with Kaladin feeling warmth, idk. But this does prove investiture can give a feeling of warmth.

To me, the shards are just pieces of Adonalsium's soul. Each Intent is like a piece of their personality. No one is truly all Preservation or Ruin, but these are the pieces of that were part of their soul extracted to a single ideal/Intent And there are 4 because there is 4 Dawnshards that ripped those pieces apart? And they each are 4 they each rip out 4, so 4*4 is 16. Though that is just conjecture. I don't think the number of shards is that important, as Brandon seems to have wobbled on the number of them I think? I believe we will learn more about Adonalsium's during the back half in the book eras when we see the... Ire(?) more.

Is it stupid that I just want to base them all off the Skybreaker one? "I am the Wind" "I am the Stone" And etc. Probably not, but if only it was that simple.
