  1. I finished the book today myself.
  2. How about something like.... Power: If he touches someone, it makes that person want to believe in him. Weakness: If he does not believe in himself. Now someone might think that his power is weak..and it kinda is. Like Sanderson said himself, many powers are not useful, and some are pretty much useless. If David gets any powers, I don't expect them to be that useful, at least from the start. Then he will find small ways for him to use it. As for the other epic that we don't know about, I am maybe thinking that it is Valentine. She has that "get pissed off for no reason" thing that many of the epics we have seen.
  3. I was thinking maybe his music reminded him of something. Not that his own music was his own weakness itself.
  4. I doubt she knew the extent of his powers, most epics are very hidden about their powers.
  5. To me it felt like when ever David called the Professor a hero or anything, he would get pissed. Maybe because it was stroking his ego and making him turn the the dark side, but maybe it was something else? Maybe he does not want to see himself as a hero?
  6. So they would be bad metaphors then.
  7. I do remember them mentioning Germany when talking about their guns. I would like to argue that Africa might ended up being the best place live. Some of those people are used to the kinds of things that the epics do, so they would already be somewhat used to it? Just an idea.
  8. My best guess is that they would be normal until they end up having their rending. Thought technically, Dawnslight is a child epic, as when he got into a coma he was a little kid.
  9. How are we sure that David's weakness was water? Yes he was not knowledgeable about how to swim, but that is because David really never got the chance to. Steelheart had turned the big bodies of water around Chicago into steel remember? David was not 'afraid' of water, he just had no real prior experience to it, so he was being careful. Now what do I think he is afraid of?.....Becoming an epic. His greatest fear is becoming the thing that he is swearing to kill. Think about it, this whole time he has been trying to kill epics, trying to make the world a better place. His father was killed by an epic, what is the worst thing possible for someone that knows so much about epics like he does? It is to become one.
  10. I don't remember them talking about if Conflux was good looking?
  11. Sounds more Hobbity like than an autobiography.
  12. Seeing you guys trying to explain your metaphors is like trying explain gravity to an ant. You start explaining it, but in the middle of explaining it you end up realizing that you have no idea how it works either.
