  1. I'm always surprised to see Lift haters. I guess because I like here and think of her as the comic relief of SA kinda like Wayne in E2. I liked her even more after Edgedancer. To each their own though. I can see how she comes across silly (although I think a lot of it is a coping mechanism). I'd have to say Zane as well which is weird because I like most of the bad guys Brandon writes.
  2. Nothing would make me happier than if this was true.
  3. @KidWayne I read your first post in this thread and at the end of it instantly thought Adam and Eve then read your second post! The story itself did oddly feel familiar as I read it and I think it is Adam and Eve I was thinking of. This may be present day Shinovar but was a safe haven created by Honor and Cultivation for humans possible an appeasement to the Listeners who were afraid to share their planet with humans unless they were sequestered. The girl follows Eve's path seeking what is forbidden ending the innocence. It really does have a lot of similarities.
  4. Ok now that I have read all the comments want to say I am on board with the previous ideas Shallan's story was the first humans on Roshar and I like the idea the "bad" people were in Shinovar. Only problem I have with that is I would think Shallan would have describer the girl as Shin. The white hair too of course now that I think of it have we seen a Shin female's appearance described? I wonder if she is even a girl as Shin have a child like appearance.
  5. Haven't had a chance to read all the comments yet but holy chapters batman! Shallan and that story seems important.. It was also really cool to see that stage and how it was probably used in the past by Radiants. So the copycat is copying all violence not just murders. Is it a voidbringer? Unmade? Voidspren? Wow Dalinar's chapters were really intense. He seems so different. The end of that though was that what changed him to what we see now? Contemplating killing his brother? I assumed it was the Nightwatcher but he has mentioned this situation before so maybe this is what lightened up the Blackthorne. Especially considering this battele seemed to be the victory of the reunification. What was with the rhythm and red vision? These beginning chapters are nagging at me somehow regarding who is actually on the side of good. I just cant help but think we may not have been rooting for the "good guys" all along. Maybe the real issue is there is a lot more gray area we do not know about. Wow Amaram is High Prince. No doubt with Ialai pulling the strings. Man Kaladin should really just stay with those Listeners. Even turning in to a voidbringer would be better than the day he is going to have when he comes back to find out this and that Adolin ratted him out for killing Shallan's brother.
  6. Missed it by 10 heartbeats. Ugh I still cant see chapters what is wrong!
  7. Is it possible that similar to Nergaoul fueling the Thrill there could be another Unmade fueling murders or rage?
  8. Yes end of the first trilogy. After you read Era 2 go back and read secret history you will get to re-live it again through another POV.
  9. I started off reading Mistborn and was pretty much hooked right away. The characters, magic and world building was amazing. I read Elantris next I think and it was only then I said man how hadn’t I heard of this guy? To my defense I was never a huge fantasy fan I was a lot more in to Sci-fi. Anyway it was after Elantris that I started looking for more info about Brandon and found this site. When I read a little about the Cosmere here my mind was blown. I read the rest of his Cosmere novels as quick as possible. Then just because he wrote the last ones I read the WoT series as well as him non-Cosmere books. His books are really good but the Cosmere tie in is what makes them and him great in my opinion. It doesn’t take away from the individual stories but does make being a fan even better. It’s like a bonus that just keeps getting better. I love the complexity of the stories. I’ve honestly never liked more “bad guys” than the ones Brandon writes. There is always another secret. Other authors are pretty good at this as well but Brandon does really good job of adding new secrets and answering others in a way you don’t always feel frustrated. The amount of theories that get posted here that get proven wrong is testinateto how well he can keep us guessing (keep it up sharders I love reading them). Another thing I’ve seen others mention is he really does write uplifting stories. Sure they are not all roses and puppy dog tails he’s even been able to make me a grown man cry (Mistborn ending). Overall though he’s proven he can write amazing stories without sex and vulgarities on every other page. Lastly it’s his accountability to his fans. You can tell he truely cares about his fans and his work ethic shows this. It is amazing how quickly he turns out the highest quality books in the genre. His communication to his fans is great. I mean I can’t wait for Koloss Head Munching day. He even puts book status on his freakin website. Btw if you haven’t checked it lately there is a surprise on there. One day I’m going to happen to be at one of those airports after he signs books. Hopefully I’ll be able to meet him in person as well.
  10. I just saw this 2 minutes ago and the suspense is already killing me! Please be a Cosmere short (or long) story!
  11. Peter checked the continuity of what the Oracles said.
  12. Amazingly done and happens to be my favorite SA character. Kudos to you and cant wait to see more.
  13. Deaf for 22 hours. Would mean my wife can only yell at me for 2 hours a day which would be a vast improvement. Would you rather be a one legged pirate or a one armed Herdazian? Stormlight spoiler
  14. Egwene actually grew a lot on me as the series went but I feel your pain. Now Nynaeve had me wanting to pull my hair almost until the end of the series.
  15. That is very true and more than likely the truth but it’s more fun to think of him as this guy.
  16. Out of our view all those guys are holding glasses of kool-aide.
  17. Great now I want to see Dalinar and Lift in a surgebinding duel...
  18. Jezrien was the herald of Windrunners.
  19. Well dang I just always assumed this to be fact. I checked Coppermind and it states he is was the leader of heralds. The evidence though is pretty circumstantial and up for interpretation.
  20. He is referenced as the King of Heralds in the prelude but to your point that could just mean he is a king I dunno maybe there is more I am not remembering I guess I just took this for face value in the prelude. Edit- Only other thing is Taln says he will teach leadership but again that could just be from his experience as a king.
  21. This was bugging me too. He actually didn't say he was left with the burden of the Oathpact I think we are making that jump here and this was exactly how I read it as well. He says he is bearer of the Oathpact which we assumed to be the last bearer of the Oathpact but all Heralds were bearers of the Oathpact. Normally I would say that it makes more sense in this context to assume the statement means last bearer except for the fact he also says Herald of Heralds which would be Jezrien. So one of these claims is false if you assume he is claiming to be the last bearer of the Oathpath. Of course this could just be the ramblings of a crazy guy that has his Herald history mixed up. I am leaning towards Ishar if he is a herald but I did have to first dismiss Taln because of the two points you made.
  22. Sorry not really understanding how the painter not knowing Tezim matters. The painting of Ishar does look a little like a cult. We the readers and in world characters are learning about a very cultish leader so I see the correlation. No one is saying he painted Tezim just that this is a coincidence possible adding some weight to Tezim being Ishar.
  23. All things being equal and no magic being used I think Vasher would take Kaladin mainly because of experience which Vasher surpasses him by a great deal. On Roshar though Kaladin has the uperhand as Brandon has said Vasher has not figured out how to use Stormlight other than sustaining his one breath a week. Of course Vasher is in close proximity to a certain honor blade that would put them on level playing field magically. All of this is just fun stuff to talk about though since it seems like Vasher is not going to take a real active role besides maybe attempting to kiss and make up with Nightblood. He is "hiding out" enjoying the easier way to sustain his immortality or I should say that is what we are being led to believe. He was also an important enough character to write an entire book about too so who knows.
  24. I wasn't really expecting to see much of Lift in OB but the painting makes me think differently now and that is an excellent point on her third oath in regards to Dalinar. She may be able to get the other Kingdoms on board with Dalinar by threatening to eat all their food if they do not.
