  1. My problem with Odium escaping at the end of book 5 is it really goes against Brandon's stand alone series concept in my opinion. For Cosmere aware fans it would be cool but would probably be meaningless to someone just reading the series. I just don't see Brandon doing it in the middle of Stormlight. Now I can see him escaping at the end of book 10 which if I am correct timeline wise would still allow him to be there since Era 2 is after Stormlight. I agree with others though and think it is another shard after Harmony. Plus I think as others have mentioned it is too messy with the ending of Era 2 before the ending of book 10.
  2. Yep just figured out that’s what the question was about. Thanks for posting the WoP I was looking for it!
  3. Not exactly sure what that question means sorry.
  4. This is why I love Brandon's books so much. We would literally turn a toenail clipping into a mysterious clue.
  5. The Yahoo has spoken. Case closed.
  6. We will have to agree to disagree sir.
  7. Another thought since there are two they could be a Kandra's blessings. I guess it could be something else but "Thick Hairpins" sure do sound like spikes. I don't think there is supposed to be a great mystery around these items and they were meant to be somewhat obvious easter eggs for those who have read the other books. A odd flower and lock of golden hair are pretty obvious. The "branch" is probably the most clandestine item but I agree with the general consensus on that as well. I agree on the knife though especially now that we know what Dragonsteel is and does. I still feel it is from Threnody though because I think Brandon would use cannon items over a non-cannon item.
  8. Jesus wouldn't wear that look and neither should you.
  9. I'm one of the ones that Elantris is at the bottom of my list of Cosmere favorites. TES is actually one of my favorites though. Mistborn was the first thing I read by Brandon and the thing that really stood out to me was the magic system. Same for Warbreaker and it has the added advantage of a talking sword. I just couldn't get into the magic in Elantris. The characters were good I'll give you that. It also seems really SLOW compared to Mistborn. I also think Brandon became a much better writer after Elantris and that probably has something to do with it. That being said I do agree that the more we learn about Sel the more interesting it will get. I'm still however hoping for the Warbreaker sequel first. Non-Cosmere I loved Steelheart and hated Calamity. It is actually the only book of Brandon's I do not like and it pains me because of how much I liked the series.
  10. Possible. I think it’s been speculated the “hairpins” are hemalurgic spikes which I’d say is pretty plausible. The silver knife is from Threnody but I agree “silver” could mean the color and not the actual material so that could be a candidate.
  11. @WhiteLeeopard never made that connection until you pointed it out thanks!
  12. I've got a 10 and an 8 year old may still be able to troll them the "old fashioned" way but we do have a bun in the oven that may be browsing the OASIS as you suggest.
  13. That is what makes it interesting presumable the person that finds it would be the prime suspect. Unless the person that finds it was charged with investigating the murder e.g. Ialai hired him to investigate the murder. Finding the shardblade takes away some motives for killing Torol and points more towards a crime of passion.
  14. I can't wait until my kids are old enough for me to troll on their interwebs forums of choice.
  15. I also thought the main issue was with it going the wrong direction is the damage it will cause because everyone builds for a storm in one direction. For example windows are only put on leeward sides of houses.
  16. Mraize has Oathbringer just a gut feeling nothing to back this up with.
  17. Agreed. I’m really liking the direction Brandon went with this. Not only because it is so unexpected but because it adds so much more complexity to the story.
  18. Yeah no idea if this is even possible but if he could go back to the vision when he was Heb and take the female Radiant up on her offer to go to Urithiru and train then bam!!
  19. Hey don't feel bad. I listened to the audio book for Warbreaker and in my head Nightblood was spelled Knightblood. I was writing Knightblood all over the forums until someone corrected me.
  20. You have an important typo in the quote above. Meaning when Vin almost killed him.
  21. Wayne showing the good people of Roshar the art of proper "trading".
  22. I like this theory and do agree that "Unite them" more than likely meant humans and Parshendi (I actually made this comment yesterday in the chapters thread prompted from someone else's comment). I'm in the process of a re-read of the first books it has been a few years so I may not be remembering correctly but wasn't the theory of the Everstorm turning parshman into voidbringers given to Dalinar by Jasnah which she discovered from her research? Hmm altered historical text where have we seen this before..
  23. Not justifying this one way or another but this argument does not really work in the real world either for a large group of people. Rarely is ignorance justified as a means to continue something people know (or should know) to be wrong like slavery in the minds of those oppressed. Plus does Kaladin really believe this? He is still pretty fresh from hating all light eyes himself. DING DING DING! I cant help but think this is the case for the blatant lack of POV but man I want and hope we see this in this book.
  24. Wow that’s a great question! Hopefully he had some spheres stashed away and luckily from what we learned today they seem to stay infused longer in Urithiru.
