Oh. My. GOD. Someone gets it. I played Origins before getting into the Cosmere, and Cailan has been my headcanon Elhokar since I first read his description. I'm glad I'm not alone. Interestingly, I'd have answered the same for all of these.

To cool people down, here's a funny gender-fluid joke I saw on my Book of Faces feed yesterday (I think it was from Tumblr...): A gender fluid teen, in speaking with his father one day, identifies as the father's son. Father: "So you're my son today?" Teen: "Yeah, it's a son day." Father: "That's funny, I thought it was Saturday."

Being an atheist doesn't necessarily mean close-mindedness. As Argent points out, atheists should be open to new evidence/reasoning from both other atheists and theists. If anything, experience has led me to believe that atheists are more open-minded than theists, at least in regards to religion, as we tend to listen to arguments from all religions, not just one. As for hatheism, it tends to stem from an examination of religion's history. Many theists focus on all the good their religion has done for the world. Hatheists focus on the bad. The crusades are a prime example of Christianity's evils. The current issues in the Middle East serves as an example for Islam. Other examples include how religious governments persecute against those who believe differently, as well as smaller prejudices such as the way US politicians can get criticized for not saying "God Bless America" after speeches, even though US citizens have Freedom of Religion. Hatheists tend to go one step further than just focusing on the bad, though, and actively blame theists for these things. And not just the theists at fault, but any and all theists, even attacking the religions themselves.

I enjoyed the article. It wasn't perfect, and there were some mistakes, but all in all it was good. I particularly like the free advertising for 17S at the end!

No, but you make a good point. I'm trying to think of clues that don't downright give it away, and that's hard. The two travelers are a part of a band.

The tall building on the right hand side of the picture reminded me of Sears Tower.

That was a bad description, considering neither of those characters are main PoVs! Good job! I hate coming up with these...I'm bad at Bad Descriptions... A boy and his friend travel through time to learn about history.

I would argue the definition you've provided describes agnosticism. And as an atheist, I want people to separate the two terms. I am not agnostic. I am an atheist. I have looked into the arguments for both sides, and have decided that there are no gods. Whether we are discussing the Abrahimic God, a pantheon of any sort, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or any other deity, good or evil. An agnostic, meanwhile, will come to the conclusion that a conclusion cannot be made given the current arguments/evidence. There might be gods, but there also might not be. So someone in the example you've provided, who is confident that the Abrahimic God does not exist, but is open to the Greek pantheon, is still an agnostic, not an atheist.

That...is certainly not how I imagined Calamity looked. I was more imagining a red moon...not sun. And that skyline...what skyline is that? It looks like a combination of Chicago and New York to me. But I like it! Looks great!

Keep in mind that Nightblood isn't the only piece of metal that Vasher has Awakened. He mentions in the prologue that he's done it more than once, meaning that something else special happened with Nightblood.

No, Argent, I think he was saying both atheists and agnostics can be placed into either of those groups. Not that agnostics belong to Group 1 while atheists belong to Group 2.

So it's been a few months, but a recent story event within the Green Lantern Universe needs mentioning. Dex-Starr officially can think and speak. So you're dream, Kobold, isn't dead just yet. ...And off topic? Er.......

He does use raptors. Those are mildly similar, just slightly less intelligent (and don't worship Dragons...).

No problem. And I think you're criticizing yourself too harshly. That's better than anything I'd spit out after five drafts.

In addition to what Twi said, to offer some prose critique, you reuse words somewhat often. Though not normally an issue, there's the following sentence: Then there's this passage, though I have a feeling this was done intentionally. Still thought I should mention it in case it wasn't: I feel like it definitely occurred one other time, but I can't seem to find it, so perhaps I'm just delusional. Anyways, this is very rarely an issue with writers on here, but I know it is something I often struggle with, and as such have trained myself to throw red flags when it happens.

I've seen the term Pegasister used, but all the female FiM fans I know prefer to just be called Bronies. One of them actually finds the term Pegasister annoying.

We landed a robot on Mars after fully understanding the physics of the situation. Calamity suddenly appeared in the sky...but I don't recall mentions of tidal shifts. If there were no tidal shifts, what is Calamity's actual mass? There would be a very large period of observation before any sort of probe or some such were rocketed off to find out what in Calamity Calamity is. My example of not knowing Calamity's mass introduced a slew of problems for astro-scientists to work out. Now, as for why 3 years later nothing was done, a plausible explanation is that, with no serious detrimental effects of Calamity's presence, there was no rush to discover what was going on.

In a WoB that's not been added to the hivemind Theoryland, Brandon states that SprenBows are impossible, as they cannot form objects with multiple parts, or at least multiple parts that separate. Plus we know there is a travel range that Spren seem to need to adhere to, though I don't recall it ever being explicitly stated. Perhaps they could form the actual bow, but would only shoot real arrows, not SprenArrows. Edit: The WoB is burried among the many signings Brandon did earlier this year. Not to be selfish, but I'm not hunting for it. Sorry.

My apologies, it's a personal spelling for a term I coined when discussing the new wave of r/atheist-attitudes toward religion with my Religions In Society professor a few years ago. Any similarities to terms currently used by the populace are completely coincidental, I'm not hip enough to be trend-setting.

Noticed the evolution discussion going on, figured I'd drop this article in here. It's obviously written by atheists, but I didn't feel they were pushing the territory of hathiests (hate-theists), so I don't think is should offend anyone, but if it does, my apologies. Anyways, this popped up on my Book of Faces feed and I enjoyed reading it. I find it amusing that it addresses some of the issues you brought up, Kipper. Anyways, enjoy the read. Here you go!
