One...two...three... Buttercup counted silently along with the chiming bells, standing atop the Oregon State Campanille. The sun rose in the east, though on this day Buttercup could not bathe in its rays. Instead, rain gently pattered all around her, the gray overcast stretching as far as she could see.
...Six...seven...eight. The bells stopped. Buttercup lifted gently off the roof, looking up at the clouds. It was going to be a long, wet day. Setting into motion, she flew over to the Crystal Lakes Sports Fields to check in on the police stationed there before going to meet with Bubbles. It would be a couple more hours before her sister even bothered to wake up.
Blossom stared at her reflection in the foggy mirror, towel wrapped around her body as she dried her hair delicately. She always showered in the morning. It not only woke her up, but also allowed her the time she needed to care for her hair. Sure it meant sacrificing an hour of sleep, but her hair was worth it.
Once her hair was sufficiently dried and styled, straight and long down her back, she moved over to her vanity table to apply makeup before getting dressed in her usual dress suit with open toed heels. Overdressing is never an issue, she chuckled to herself.
Moving out of her bedroom, she made herself a cup of tea, drinking it slowly as she ate her breakfast. Once finished, she grabbed the finished press release off of her coffee table and an umbrella from a closet before leaving her home. The rain meant she had to fly slowly for the umbrella to still be functional, but she had time to spare before meeting with Rainmaker.
