At least it wasn't a hand-turkey! Hand-turkeys are famous in the AP test graders' world. My AP World History teacher volunteers to grade essays every year, and he says that the tradition is that the first person to get a hand-turkey buys the first round of drinks that night, and the person who accumulates the most hand-turkeys buys the drinks on the last night.

That kind of makes the discussion pointless, then. You can't make true comparisons between OSC and BS when only using SA because SA isn't finished. The resolution isn't there. That's an unfair, and biased comparison, so what would be the point of bothering to compare them?

None of Brandon's endings have ever dripped as much Deus Ex Machina as the ending of Ender's Game. That's like, the end of the debate. Right there.

I'm actually not a huge fan of the Cthulu story itself. It was no where near as terrifying as some of his other stories. My two personal favorites are The Shadow Over Innsmouth and The Whisperer In the Darkness.

So I'm working on the Besk page on the Coppermind, and I've come across the issue of figuring out when Besk actually met Kai. Two different excerpts are potentially contradictory, and I'm not sure what to make of it. From Chapter 1: “My lord,” Besk said, stopping on the wall-walk. “This is most unseemly of you. I'm reminded of the child you were, not the king you have become.” From Chapter 5: Don’t be foolish, I thought to myself. I’d survived for centuries without Besk looking over my shoulder. Chapter 1 seems to imply Besk has known Kai since Kai was a child. Chapter 5, on the other hand, implies Besk didn't meet Kai until after Kai had lived for 200+ years. It is possibly that the Chapter 1 excerpt merely references Kai having acted like a child, running off on wild adventures. At the same time the Chapter 5 excerpt could be understood as Besk not traveling with Kai during all of his adventures, but still having known him since childhood. So which do you think it is? I'm leaning towards Besk not having met Kai until after Kai had lived for 200+ years, but I'm not convinced.

I apologize, I meant my post to be more generalized. Not focused at you. The confusion is not your fault I would ask you, however, to not use "evolution" as your term to refer to all those events. Knowing the difference yet continuing to lump them all together only perpetuates the problem.

Am I the only one in which that Prologue screamed Prof to? Like, it just fits Prof, and his struggle to not give in to the corruption. Then, in Babilar, he had to, and he stared into the depths. It seems to me that after his Epic rampage, he's gained some semblance of control back. Perhaps with the help of Tia. I don't know, it just feels like it's talking about Prof, not David.

I think the issue in the argument is a disconnect. In religion, the two events are connected, when in science, they aren't. That difference will always cause creationists who don't accept evolution theory to have an issue with the theory. They don't understand that in science, the two events are not connected.

I too, am getting tired of the teen dystopian, BUT I feel I should mention Matched. It's yet another trilogy, with yet another teen girl protag, and yet another love triangle, BUT the world is actually interesting, and not based on an obviously flawed premise like Divergent, the protag is actually interesting and not stupid, and the love triangle gets resolved at the end of the first book. I can't speak to how the second and third books are, though, as I haven't finished them, but the first one was quite promising.
