  1. I was merely trying to figure out the most efficient means of healing. Buttercup cannot gift her healing, nor heal others. Your reasoning is sound.
  2. Unfortunately I lack any book evidence, which I know you so love. All I have to offer is a possibility and a question. The possibility: there is no other major advancement. Getting a Command down to a single Breath is pretty astonishing, all things considered. More importantly, though, it is the Command that one would expect to require the least Breath; the Command for dead humans. We know that the more human-like an object, the easier/less Breaths to awaken. That implies a dead body should be the easiest, and it is. Given that, there should be no other object that is that easy to awaken. So is there more room for improvement? The question: what types of advancement are you expecting? This goes hand in hand with the question at the end of the previous paragraph, and my personal opinion is that there is room for improvement, in that researchers should be attempting to idealize all Commands. Make each Command use as little Breath as possible. I do not have the book on me, but I feel like there is a passage either in novel or in annotation that states this: researchers are working towards this goal. So perhaps the advancements are simply not worth mentioning, and the last improvement worth mentioning was the 1-Breath Lifeless. The only other form of advancement would be to discover new Commands, which I feel was also commented on in novel.
  3. I'm considering re-asking mine. He seems to be prioritizing new questions and ignoring the old...
  4. Sorry for the absence, I hope me offering my two cents is still welcome: If he's teaming up with Euphoria to keep the vanillas happy as they're being injured, why would he not instead team up with Buttercup, whose healing power would take care of any injury other than severe head wounds and/or heart piercings/crushings? Other than that little detail I see nothing wrong, and even him choosing Euphoria over Buttercup isn't "wrong" so much as potentially less effective.
  5. Buttercup and Bubbles post is up. Voidus, let me know if any of the crops mentioned are not possible, given Cornucopia's power constraints, and I'll edit the post.
  6. As IcyHot and Resistor closed in, Buttercup focused her gaze on the trapped Epic. She seemed angry, furious even. She was watching the two Epics coming to restrain her like a predator watches prey, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Buttercup watched as the girl's eyes widened in shock when her powers didn't work. Relief washed over the Queen. She had been worried that Blossom and Cornucopia were wrong about the girl's powers, worried that she'd lose two more Epics from her police force. That hadn't happened, and after the initial shock subsided, the Epic began fighting back, but it was too late, the restraints were mostly on. As IcyHot and Resistor finished, they began to slowly back away, the Epic left to sit in her restraints and fume. She had calmed down, no longer violently trying to escape, but rather sitting there, eyes looking towards Rainmaker. Buttercup's gaze was drawn to the girl's eyes. They blazed with hatred, a fury unlike any Buttercup had seen before. She gasped softly for air, a chill running down her spine. It was in that moment, staring at pure and unadultered anger, that Buttercup knew. They had won this fight, but they were far from winning the war. Bubbles hummed as they drove along. She couldn't explain why, but she liked driving down 34. She enjoyed watching Corvallis fall away, and the farmland open up. She knew this area had, prior to Calamity, been filled with both farmland and neighborhoods, but that had all been flattened to give Cornucopia the space she needed. Cars and barrels of fuel grew side by side; industrial materials like chains, wire, and steel sheets grew in the next plot over; flat screen televisions, blu-ray players, and movies, titles by the thousands, grew in the following plot after that. She found it calming, watching the vanillas work. Sweat glistened from their skin, far brighter than usual due to the field lights shining bright, allowing the workers to continue into the night. She turned to look at her drawing of Denver. It was no longer burning, and instead was being attacked by a flock of giant Pterodactyls, with one flying away clutching a whole building in its feet. Bubbles didn't know how plausible that was, the building staying whole and all. She did know, however, that she didn't care.
  7. Watched the first 3 episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal because Fate/Stay Night has yet to finish. I enjoyed the new art style, and the voice acting was superb as expected. I haven't decided if I want to continue with it or not, though, given I watched the original anime. I'm looking forward to watching the new Fate/Stay Night, to see how they handle the UBW story given a full 26 episodes rather than a 2 hour movie. I'm waiting for it to finish though so I can simply watch start to finish without waiting.
  8. Just finished Lords of the Sith, and it was MUCH better than Heir to the Jedi. Kemp proved he knows how to handle Star Wars.
  9. The way I understood the stone business was he used the barriers to lift the stones, which still falls under energy manipulation. Really the biggest problem is the pigment comment, and I haven't had time to look into it in detail, though when I get the chance I will.
  10. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my Corvallis post up today, but it is definitely in the works and should get posted at some point this week. Just letting you all know. Comatose, my plan is to restrain Converter, and then let you handle the explanations of what happens to her afterwards. It sounds like you want to keep her there, with guards posted and the like.
  11. Perhaps a pug can calm the monkey
  12. Is Reckoners Cosmere?
  13. Err...that's not 15 Venture Mistborn, that's only 10. Moreover, I wouldn't exactly call half of the lantern colors "heroes". Green Lantern (Hal, Guy, John, Kyle, Simon, and any others in the corps, really) Blue Lantern Saint Walker Green Arrow The Flash Kid Flash Batman Robin Nightwing Superman Superboy Supergirl Cyborg Aquaman Wonder Woman Static Shock Shazzam etc... As for the question, I'll go ahead with Venture Mistborn's: Name 20 Marvel heroes.
  14. Hello all, I want to discuss what it is we all think Kairominas can do with Lancing. What can Lancing do? I initially thought it allowed energy manipulation, as most descriptions of it seem to make that obvious, but then there's chapter 3. I'm not well versed in pigment science, so I could use some help. Would Kai drawing out the pigment still classify as energy manipulation? Pulling the moisture and splitting the molecule all fall under that umbrella, but I am unsure about the pigment stuff. As a note, this is a discussion as to what Lancing can do on Alornia, or in a world where it functions in the way Kai is familiar with. This is not a discussion about how Lancing works after Sophie hacks Maltese to let Kai control heat. Thanks for the help! Edit: After looking it up, pigmentation alteration is a form of energy manipulation.
  15. Considering you dying offers zero negatives to you, as the player, it's not that big of a deal, though I see your point. I thought the game was rather challenging prior to gaining a few of the abilities, and it wouldn't make much sense for the captains to grow with you given the culture established by the nemesis system in the first place. I thought what put the difficulty curve in the rut was the fact that the war chiefs were pushovers. Had they extended your exposure to them, and put them later in the game, they could've increased their difficulty to give the game a much more linear difficulty curve. It does, but the method I detailed lets you choose who gains the ranks, rather than it being random. Plus there's always the possibility that one of the lower ranks defeats a higher rank. I watched a level 7 beat a level 14 after one of my time jumps.
  16. So when I played the game, I removed all the Uruks from the first map prior to moving to the second. When I went back they had completely refilled. But making use of the mind control allows Uruks to grow real quick. Spoilers on game mechanics (no story) below: The game was a blast, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
  17. Hey guys, I'm currently working on the page for Lancing, and there's a couple of things I wanted to ask. First, Lancing is a magic system, but is non-Cosmere. What info-box should I use? I normally try to look at other similar pages, but most of the magic pages are Cosmere, and the template clearly indicates that (with Shardic influence, focus, and typing). I'm currently going to use it and omit all the Cosmere sections (like Rithmatist), but let me know if there is another template I should be using, or if there are sections to the template I am unawares of. Second, the Perfect State footer infobox should have Lancesight replaced with Lancing. I've mentioned this before, but then got busy and neglected my quest to finish the Perfect State articles, so it escaped my mind. To reiterate my previous arguments, I felt, upon reading the Novella, that "Lancing" was the magic system, and "Lancesight" was a feature within that system. This is similar to seeing blue lines when burning iron/steel in Allomancy. If you were merely waiting for the page to exist before making the change, my apologies for beating the dead horse. The page should be up and running today P.S. - As a side note unrelated to Lancing, it would be nice if the template pages listed all the potential sections that are usable. Just a thought.
  18. You missed Haunter, though he technically never "caught" Haunter, just befriended it, so I'll give it to you. Also, Lapras was not during the Indigo League, but shortly after it. Mmm, my apologies. I've never considered Landwalk one ability, though I did take into account protection. Heh, sorry.
  19. By "waffle house" do you mean the chain of restaurants named WAFFLE HOUSE or do you mean houses made of waffles? Isn't Funtimes making plenty of the latter? If not, then I have one question. Why not?
  20. 1 Mountainwalk 2 Forestwalk 3 Plainswalk 4 Islandwalk 5 Swampwalk 6 Flying 7 Double Strike 8 First Strike 9 Deathtouch 10 Reach 11 Trample 12 Haste 13 Defender (Wall) 14 Lifelink 15 Hexproof 16 Infect 17 Vigilance 18 Indestructible 19 Protection from Red 20 Protection from Black 21 Protection from White 22 Protection from Blue 23 Protection from Green 24 Protection from Colors 25 Protection from Creatures 26 Bloodthirst ... WLIU list all the Pokemon Ash Ketchum caught during the Indigo League (season 1). You don't need to list both pre-evolutions and evolutions, just one from each family is sufficient.
  21. No, they are separate. If you go over to the Coppermind, look in the top right corner to see if you are signed in. If you see a set of numbers instead of a username, you are not logged in I got it to work. Not sure what was causing it to be temperamental before. Also, I love it!
  22. Come early-mid next week, if he hasn't given us word, I'll edit my post to finish up the restraining. Considering he's fine with the capture, I think Converter will simply try to take out IcyHot and Resistor, realize it's not working, and then have no choice but to be captured. All with a fury towards Rainmaker burning in her eyes, of course.
  23. I can't get the signature to work, Haelbarde...This makes me sad. I checked for potential typos and what not, but nothing seems wrong. I copied pasted directly.
