I'd join you in making ridiculous amounts of Epics, but I seem to struggle with picking weaknesses. Do you mean to tell me that people aren't joining for the insanity? I'm partial to organic "I do this" "then I do this" "then I do this". But I like that for all types of Role Playing, not just combat. It does mean, though, that the average post length will likely be smaller for Salem. We'll likely need a means for deciding how the battle ends though, mainly only if the participants can't decide amongst themselves.

I feel like WHIO recently had a large influx of new players, myself included. If the influx just stops, and no new players show up wanting to have awesome Epic fights, what happens to Salem? Does it die? Do we leave it to wait until another influx occurs? That's kind of my point.

Does he listen to Death Grips? (A rap group, mildly hardcore, good chunk of profanity, don't look up if children are around) Voidus, I can make an Epic if necessary to help get the thread going. My biggest worry for Epic!Fight Club is that the influx of new players just suddenly stops.

Bought the new 10 Years album last weekend. Finally gave it a listen to. It was good, but it was no Autumn Effect. That being said, they're sound has changed quite a bit since then. I definitely enjoyed it though.

I see a few possibilities for The Clapper. 1) His clapping creates large, violent sound waves, capable of destroying buildings. 2) His clapping kills people like those clapper lights. He looks at you, double claps, and you're dead. Likewise he can revive you, too. 3) His clapping causes squirrels to jump out of the woodwork to dance, dance like puppets. Every once in a while one comes out wearing a sombrero. Oh and he's a High Epic due to a precog power.

I would think Corvallis has excess power. Considering the draw of Corvallis is a safe haven, almost a paradise, not giving the citizens power seems...weird? Particularly when you consider the ease of acquiring generators (dig hole, throw in generator, have Cornucopia do her thang), not to mention Rainmaker's capability to abuse wind energy and solar energy. Then there's the Williamette, which can be used by mills to make electricity, and considering the length of the river engulfed by the bubble, there's plenty of opportunity to fit more mills. By combining all of these options, providing power to the city, even if only at night, should be doable. As for other locations, the Williamette would at least be able to provide power to locations near the river. I'm not familiar with their situations otherwise.

I think the appropriate response would be to let the Weeping Angel get you. At least that way you still get to live, versus being devoured by the Vashta Nerada.

Amy is a Moffat character. he wrote most of the episodes in which I feel she was utterly, breathtakingly amazing in. Though Tom MacRea blew him out of the water with The Girl Who Waited. As for fan favorites, Blink is at the top of the list, and then the lists I've seen have the library duo immediately after (which is Moffat too). After that it's a bit of a mix, but I've seen multiple lists of fan favorites with the Jack intro duo after that (also Moffat).

This needs to be a more commonly used phrase.

I don't think they travel at different speeds. At least, I don't ever recall seeing anything hinting at such.

I'm going to disagree with you on almost every point. Most of the poorly written episodes aren't written my Moffat. Moreover, Moffat wrote nearly all of the fan favorite episodes during Davies's run as head writer: The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library, and Forest of the Dead. If anything, he's just a bad lead writer. I'm not sure which female characters you think are cringe worthy, but I found Amy to be far more compelling of a character than Rose or Martha. I feel this way about many of the minor female characters too, including River Song. I do agree some of his plots don't make sense, but the same can be said about other writers, so it's not a Moffat issue only. If anything, it's an issue with the genre of a Space Opera television show that features a "monster of the week" feel. I've always argued that 10 and 11 were opposites. 10 was a serious doctor put into silly episodes and situations. Meanwhile 11 is a silly doctor put into serious episodes and situations. Obviously this doesn't always hold true, but I feel it's pretty solid. As such, I felt Smith did an excellent job, and fit the episodes he was placed in perfectly. Except for Blink, his major contributions prior to taking over as lead writer were multi-parters, so I don't see your point? I do feel he needs work on planning and executing story arcs, but on the flip side I also feel Davies's needs to attend a writing class due to his inconsistent performance every season. For female characters, see above. Mind explaining the sexist thing? I'm not sure what you mean. Personally, I don't dislike Moffat, but I do think he needs work on executing story arcs. I also think he needs to realize that each new creation of his doesn't need to be the next Weeping Angel. I really disliked the Silence. Other than that though, I think he's a fine writer. And again, he's written most, if not all, of the fan favorite episodes. Edit: If your female complaint is Clara, then I understand. But you shouldn't lump all of his females together due to one bad apple.

Sally Sparrow would be fun, particularly mixed with 12's crotchety-ness. In the end, though, I really just want a male companion that stays on the show of their own volition, not due to a love interest.. I understand the whole Doctor being male, so companion must be female, but it seems so...unnatural? I'd also love it if they'd stop the whole "companion is most important person in the universe" thing. We've got Rose, then Donna, then Amy, then Clara. The only recent female companion to not be the most important being in the universe during her time with the Doctor was Martha. She got one season, and she wasn't even all that great, though that's because the entirety of her character was to be jealous of Rose. When she was being her own person she was awesome.

I personally think season 5 was great, season 6 was pretty good, and then season 7 just sort of..bombed...like nuclear. I think there's only one or two episodes in that season I actually like, and the rest I just tolerated. It also doesn't help that I really dislike Clara. Anywho, it's not like the previous seasons were without error either. I loathe the Slitheen episodes, and David had a fair number of hit or miss episodes for me. In the end, though, it's the characters that drive the show for me, not the story, so my dislike of Clara has tarnished season 7 and 8 for me.

Just thought I'd like to point out that the cause of the Shattering is the collision of the Everstorm and a Highstorm. It's right in WoR, though Sanderson deftly states it and continues on as though nothing happened. I don't recall exactly where it is, but it's during the climax, and the line is something along the lines of "and the Plains shattered once more."

I started watching at the show's revival, so Eccleston was my introduction. I then, like Twi, fell in love with 10. Then Matt came along and blew me away. I like him for the reason Kobold listed and more. He's just...perfect... Considering they've been rewritten every new episode, I take it you mean Blink's version 1.0?

Doctor: 11, then 9&10 tied Monster: Daleks Episode: Girl in the Fireplace, hands down. Edit: forgot to italicize the episode title.

In short, yes. Brandon has a set of unifying laws of magic that bind all Cosmere magics together. So any light based magics would be illusion, etc. Also, given you bring three different worlds together, two of which are separately published and the other isn't, this should have been posted in Cosmere Theories. Just a friendly reminder Hopefully a mod can move this?

Don't forget Yolen, as well as the race on Roshar that might be from a different planet as well. Then there's the question of whether he counts the Ars Arcani as us "seeing" Khriss or not... Unless you're counting those as "book featured" even though they have yet to be published.

I just updated my post for Epic Profiles with some of the minor Epics I'm using in Corvallis. Broadcast Primary Power: He is capable of contacting anyone via mobile, so long as he knows their name (Epic name is sufficient). Secondary Power: He can broadcast mobile feeds to anyone he wants, no matter the distance. Weakness: Being kissed IcyHot Primary Power: Can control heat and heat transfer. Weakness: Lakes Resistor Primary Power: Can apply and manipulate resistances to electrical currents. Weakness: Moon Bounces

Comatose and Silver: Comatose, I'm not sure what types of restraints you had in mind, so I intentionally kept it vague for you or Silver to describe in one of your posts. Silver, I didn't have them actively restrain Converter so you have a chance to respond in some manner, should you choose to not have them restrain her immediately.

Buttercup watched as IcyHot and Resistor gathered what they'd need to restrain the Epic still trapped by Rainmaker's winds. "Move in with the restraints. Cornucopia, keep an eye out for signs of trouble, and try to restrain her if she attacks. If you can pin her down even for a moment with your plants, it may give Buttercup's men an opportunity to get the restraints on." Rainmaker's voice spoke through her mobile. Walking up to the two, she began tying weights to her ankles and waist, as well as theirs. If they were going to get through Rainmaker's winds they'd need to be heavy enough to not get blown away. As she finished, she looked at the Epics. "You two ready?" Seeing them nod, she grabbed them both by their arms, making sure to have skin to skin contact, and they began marching in unison towards the winds. If all went as planned, Buttercup's strength would keep them mobile with the weights in the wind, IcyHot's control over heat would negate any heat manipulation by the Epic, and Resistor would negate any electrical shocks she attempted to send their way as well. This all hinged on the three of them maintaining physical contact. Giving Rainmaker one last nod before moving in, Buttercup's breath whisked away as the torrential winds engulfed her. Taking a short moment for her and the other two to adjust, she had to breath more quickly to ensure the air wasn't stolen away from her. Once acclimated, they began their slow march forward once more. Coming within a few steps of the Epic, Buttercup hefted the other two over and ahead of her. They had linked arms, ensuring their skin touched and allowing the use of both hands. They then moved in to restrain the hostile Epic. Blossom's mobile buzzed softly in her ear as she waited for her call to connect. When the answer finally came, Blossom interrupted the greeting, allowing her irritability to bleed through her voice, in addition to her annoyance. "One of these days, Broadcast, your childish antics will get you killed." "Oh-ho!" the reply sounded all too joyful, as though Blossom's annoyance pleased him. "Well, happy to hear from you too, my liege. You seem to call me less and less these days. I feel like we're growing apart." Blossom felt the urge to growl at him, give him an earful to put him in his place. She restrained herself, though. Even if she did rip him a new one, he'd probably just put her on mute to aggravate her more. Besides, he had called her liege. She loved that, even if she wouldn't admit it. The fact that he only did it to annoy Buttercup made it even better. "Your fake pouting will get you no where today. If you didn't know, we're in the middle of a crisis." "Oh I know. Dreadfully awful. Just dreadful." his voiced was filled with fake concern. "What ever shall we do? At this rate, Epics will start getting picked off, right on the street!" "Well, if we're lucky, you'll be the first to go. Now listen," she really didn't have time for banter. "Oh!" he scoffed, interrupting her without any regards to her current situation. "You wound me!" "Yeah yeah, listen! I don't have time for this! Can you confirm Bubbles's location?" "Fine, I see how valuable I am, you don't even have the time to talk anymore! Woe is me!" Blossom kept silent. Sometimes the best way to deal with Broadcast was to simply ignore him. She watched as Buttercup approached the winds. Seeing her sister's nod to Rainmaker, Blossom held her breath for a short moment as the winds engulfed the three Epics. She needed to know Bubbles was secure. If Buttercup died, Blossom wanted to be able to rush to her sister should the need arise. She needed to know where Bubbles was. Broadcast's voice broke Blossom's train of thought. "The car she's in just turned east onto 34." Blossom nodded. That meant her sister was being taken to Bunker Beta, not Alpha. Broadcast wouldn't know that, though. "Thanks," she responded. "Anything for you. Anything for you. Next time why don't you call just to tal-" Blossom hung up on the man, turning her full attention to Buttercup, IcyHot, and Resistor.

On the topic of a new location, I am of the opinion that we need one, potentially two. I like the idea of a minimal plot, maximum action thread, as it provides a good place for newcomers to join if they don't want to put in the effort to read the entirety of a thread to know what's happening. I also think we need a new location for mid-tier Epics. This would remove some of the pressure from the Dalles and could provide a more action oriented location than Corvallis. As for the city, it sounds like Salem is the chosen one? I saw Eugene mentioned, and I was going to suggest avoiding it for now, as it's the last "large" city in Oregon to pick from that is relatively isolated from the others. Comatose, have you heard anything from Venture Mistborn? I saw you mentioned that you PMed him, in addition to my post, and I'm beginning to feel a bit guilty since he has yet to respond. I really didn't intend to sound abrasive or insulting.

Are you asking 17th Sharders to not theorize about the pointless, obscure, not-all-that-helpful information within Brandon's works?
