Vin's precognition (The Final Empire spoilers)
DreamEternal replied to Stormgate's topic in Mistborn
Not really. Ruin needs the earring to speak to her, but what we saw was more like a subtle emotional manipulation, like Rioting. -
Stormlight Archive Fantasy Casting
DreamEternal replied to DiscoDubber's topic in Stormlight Archive
Both of these things are highly subjective, and calling animated characters "generic" makes little sense, and sounds like a terribly big understimation of an entire medium. -

Vin's precognition (The Final Empire spoilers)
DreamEternal replied to Stormgate's topic in Mistborn
I also don't see why that is relevant, since we are talking about something that happened before the Well. Anyway, I think it is either Ruin or Preservation subtly manipulating her emotions. -
Vin's precognition (The Final Empire spoilers)
DreamEternal replied to Stormgate's topic in Mistborn
She didn't hold the power of the Well, she just let it go. -
Well, with the WoBs about a person's soul being affected by hemalurgy only in the linger period before the true afterlife, I can accept it is not so horrible as to make its use unthinkable. About the plague, you must remember Rosharans have no defenses against the common cold aside from the health boost from high ambient investiture. It is a potentialy terrible pandemy in the making.
-
Except the sevententh shard does not seems nefarious at all. Except for the Ars Arcanum Author. No one in their right mind would say hemalurgy isn't evil. Plus accidentaly starting a plague in the purelake by bringing non-native viruses while searching for Hoid is not a sign of competence.

It is not about sounding good. It is about a pattern!

These last two are awesome, I can see why you shouldn't mix coffee with pewter, and mistpirates should totaly be a thing.

Inserts the looming hellfire that covers the part of Brazil I live in almost half of the year when it is not raining, and sometimes when it is.*inserts daily thunderstorms* EDIT: note, I don't even live in the worst zone, since I am much, much closer to the tropic than to the equator- 3759 replies

Vin's precognition (The Final Empire spoilers)
DreamEternal replied to Stormgate's topic in Mistborn
Uh, no. A sliver is someone who held most of the power of a shard once and lost it. Vin only became a sliver after dying. -

Mystery Metal, Trell, and a Brandon quote revisited
DreamEternal replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Mistborn
But if Bavadin travelled to Scadrial, there is no storming way Sazed wouldn't notice it. A shard can have splinters and mortal agents, and its agents can worldhop and corrupt/convert locals. -
Who is the *BEST* swordsman in the cosmere?
DreamEternal replied to hula's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Yeah, two shardbearers, one of them a champion duelist, against Adolin without stormlight, and he had the upper hand. If Adolin had supernatural enhancement, he would be so amazing it would be ridiculous. -

The problem is that in the original triology, the bad guys only won in the second book. The triology itself was a phyrric victory. I suspect the W&W quadrology(is that how you say it in english?) will end more like the backstory, with the heros(Kwaan and Rashek) being able to only delay the inevitable at great cost and leave for the future the tools they need to suceed. Plus, your proposed ending actualy makes W&W mostly irrelevant, since their "victories" will be undone so quickly.

Nale Ponderance now with WoR spoilers!
DreamEternal replied to Orlion Blight's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nale may be insane, but he is not stupid. I think the Skybreakers were the order that didn't forswear, but entertained great subterfuge at the expense of the others. After the recreance, I believe they released their spren into Shadesmar instead of killing them, and Nale made a oact with the Highspren to enforce a Shadesmar-wide ban on human-spren bonding, created in the hopes of somehow prevent a desolation, but in turn they promised to bond his minions if Odium decided to destroy humanity. -
Honestly, if Paalm and Miles, who pattern themselves on Kelsier, serve Bavadin/Autonomy(big if), them it would make some sense for Kelsier to do the same.

Nale Ponderance now with WoR spoilers!
DreamEternal replied to Orlion Blight's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, and now that his plan failed, he may as well be trying to rebuild an order to fight the desolation. After all, it makes no sense to prevent what is already happening. -
Can the parshendi music influence humans?
DreamEternal replied to LordOfMortals's topic in Stormlight Archive
Still, the parshendi are strongly connected to the Cognitive Realm, and Jasnah compared their drums to the rattling of the beads in shadesmar, so perhaps their rhythms can influence the Cognitive Realm and human minds throught it. -

DreamEternal replied to Silverblade5's topic in General Discussion
Ouch. That person sounds like how I sometimes feel others see me when I speak to them without thinking and say something I shouldn't. Are you sure that person isn't just clueless? Some people just don't notice how others feel about what they do and are obnoxious by accident. EDIT: Of course some people are just arrogant, but one should never judge someone as guilty without knowing the whole tale.
