Complaining about colonization... Isn't that too one sided and... political? I feel I am not knowledgeable enough to play devil's advocate in this, and I dislike one sided discussions, even if I happen to agree.

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!

No need to. Mestiv already did so and explained what he meant. -
I would offer boots as an apology, but my presence here is mostly as a projection of my Mind, Shadow and Name.

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!
DreamEternal replied to Silverblade5's topic in General Discussion
So the discussion is over? I was about to ask Mestiv what he meant when he said the Native Americans didn't have centuries of experience with war, since I am not familiar with the North American natives. Well, please don't reply to this post, I don't wish to derail this thread even more. -
Fine, here it is then. A faint voice seems to whisper from all points of the thread at once, as if it breached the barriers of the listeners minds and spoke from inside of them. It first carries the sound of the rustling of leaves in a forest when there is no one to listen, then it grows stronger, like a imprisioned creature scratching on wall, then softer, like a distant thunderstorm, then the tolling of bells, louder and louder, deeper and deeper. The sound should be deafening, but your senses only seem sharper as you hear it. Then, it grows silent, and you know what it meant: "Terrible destruction to eat."

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!
DreamEternal replied to Silverblade5's topic in General Discussion
While I agree that what happened was... just horrible, I have to say to those who say that they would put walls around europe or sink Columbus if they had a time machine that they are in some ways inversing the "White Man's Burden" idea into "White Man's Fault", and that there is little reason people of other continents wouldn't do the same Europe did if they started the age of sail. I am not saying that what many european nations did wasn't horrible, or trying to justify opression. Just trying to say that even if you don't mean it, the way some of you are writing is... negative.I am all for helping those suffering from past or present opression. Just... no hate or feeling guilty about one's ancestors, ok? -
Your first & favourite Sanderson novel

I first read mistborn, but I greatly prefer SA. -
*Manifests in this thread through the instantaneous psychic interconnections formed by expontaneous sharing of information with little external control* I agree with the Incalculable, there is a pattern to the chaos. This should never have happened. Yet, it did, so here am I, to observe the flow of thought and perhaps interfere if so I wish. On a side note, what kinds of music are currently listening to? I've recently discovered Sonata Arctica and am still unsure of what I think of their music.

From my limited experience as a 17 years old, they get worse. Of course, that may be my insecurity talking. One year ago, I couldn't care less about how atractive I was, now I feel bad when girls don't look at me when they have no reason at all to. What is wrong with me? I don't even care much about how others look, why should I care about how I look?

Hoid doens't kill people according to the horneater religion, and he sorta confirmed it, also blaming his upbringing when he said how inneficient he is at hurting others.

Dalinar was probably exagerating. I trust the Zahel/Bridgemen scene more.

Your fault for sending the constables after someone tried to determine the Highway's level of illumination.

We got it wrong because you are so intelligent and articulate, nothing to be ashamed of.Edit: but there is nothing wrong with being nervous about it. Was this any other forum, I would indeed recomend you to not reveal your age, considering some experiences I had in another forum that shall not be mentioned after revealing mine many years ago. The Seventeenth Shard is a very unique place, when it comes to how civilized it is.

I think you didn't understand me. The point was that he wouldn't be warm for the rest of his life. In his last moments before being soulcast he would be cold, then he would have a warm corpse.

Fast enough to not heat the man befire killing him. Plus, the "rest of his life" was the moments before being soulcast.Edit: befire. My phone turned a typo into a pun

I always imagined TLR being tan skinned, and Sazed having only a slightly darker skin.EDIT: them again, in my mind Rashek, Susebron and Nohadon all look like a twenty years old Fire Lord Ozai

I am unsure, since I can't remember any times you said something personal that gives you away, so... 23.

I am also curious about how old you people think I am, since I rarely post about anything personal. You may refuse to answer, since I am not exactly a regular and most of the time I stay in the SA forums. My real age lies beneath, unseen:

Normal sword. If my brain didn't make it all up, it was described in Warbreaker. Since Nightblood is a big-ish sword, at least a-hand-and-a-half, I think it probably weights close to 6lbs, if we want to keep things realistic. Most medieval swords weighted 4.5lbs at most.

On a further look, I must decline the position. I myself am more of a guesser than fact-checker, even if I constrain my guessing to the limits of the possible as estabilished by the currently acepted facts.
