This is not stealing multiple attributes so much as having the ability to take either of them. A singular steel spike can only grant of these powers when used, even though it could take any of them. With the advent of the Survivor's Spearhead, an argument could be made for some form of "banded" spike taking multiple powers if made of different metals, but this method has not been tested or confirmed/denied by Brandon. Besides, unless the bind point for each power is the same spot, then you will only get one power at any given time and are better off using multiple spikes.

Remember that Roshar is 0.7g compared to earth. This is pretty strong, but it's not exactly Herculean, and not too dissimilar from what we've seen from Pewter flaring. I don't feel that Plate is going to give you a significant advantage in strength compared to Pewter. From here it's a debate on the logistics of how doubled strength, flaring triples compares to being launched 8 feet in 0.7g. Disclaimer: I hold almost no actual knowledge of the inner workings of gravitics, so if someone wants to correct my maths, feel free.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
The One Who Connects replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Fairly certain that there was a more recent WoB that they won't actually drain Scadrial of metals, as there aren't enough Allomancers anymore. That said, it doesn't completely shoot down your question, so hopefully someone else will have a better answer than I've got -
Lerasium Medalion
The One Who Connects replied to Hoids Imaginary Friend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Medallions appear to work by giving you the ability to use a power, which in Allomancy's case: lets you burn this metal. Granted by the Bands or not, users still need metal to burn for their Allomantic powers. By this line of reasoning, an A-Lerasium Medallion would do one of two things: Give the user the ability to burn Lerasium to become Mistborn, which is entirely pointless as they could do that anyway Give the user the ability to burn Lerasium for its Allomantic Power, which is a complete unknown at this point in time I am 87% certain that the "element" was confirmed to be the Lerasium Bead. -
Have you met anyone on this site? Nitpicks are what theories live or die by But yes, that is what I meant. Once the blade is thrown, it is not being "wielded" so it doesn't have a wielder.

Adonalsium's magic system?
The One Who Connects replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Cosmere Discussion
While there's been a few "Harmony made snapping during birth" theories around, I would actually liken Awakening to Hemalurgy in this regard. Breath, like Spikes, come with the Spiritweb connections prepackaged, bypassing the need for one to have snapped to make those connections to power. -
The problem with this WoB is that the user throws Nightblood into the mists. That is not pulling Investiture from peripherals that are independent of a user, but pulling from peripherals while independent from a user. This distinction could be enough to make this answer not count.

Question (possible error) regarding timeline
The One Who Connects replied to Coconutzz's topic in Stormlight Archive
I actually did this before in Gizmosowner's thread here (In a spoiler tag because it's a large post and was easier to quote rather than summarize) To quote Vikorr in a prior post here: (As they put it far better than I could have) Edit: forgot my point of quoting this: The "lost knowledge" doesn't have to do with forgetting what happened in a Desolation. They are a major part of their religion teachings, so it isn't forgotten. The lost information is what keeps reverting society back to the stone age each time: the people who know the important/high tech stuff end up dying, and nobody has spare time to relearn in a post apocalyptic setting for a while and by that point it's too late -
They had the Oathstone of the owner of said blade. That qualifies as it being "theirs," from a certain point of view. All I remember from Eshonai's line was "we left one[Honorblade] in Alethkar that night", which doesn't imply ownership. If I'm forgetting an important part of the full quote, that's on me, but leaving Szeth's Oathstone in Alethkar is essentially leaving Szeth's Honorblade in Alethkar.

"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"
The One Who Connects replied to Obnoxiousspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The intended user would have to come for the spikes themselves, as Hemalurgic Decay will still apply while in transit in the Cognitive Realm. Not sure how viable that is for an economy since it cuts out the middleman and not everybody can worldhop. The alternative is that there's a vendor stand out there selling glass jars of blood with a spike in them, which would go swimmingly... -
"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"
The One Who Connects replied to Obnoxiousspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
^- This is why I agree with Jace21's assumption. "Overseas" trade is upended because Kelsier blew up the port/harbor. As valuable or worthless as they may be, the items that they were trading are irrelevant at that point. -
I believe that it's a phase into the CR, speedwalk to destination(b/c distances are screwy), and phase back out. But I also believe that the phase in/phase out step would happen quickly. Reach your destination and be back the the Physical in seconds seems reasonable, since taking forever to pop back out seems horrendously inefficient, especially with how quickly the situation in a Desolation could change.

theory The secret that broke the Knights Radiant
The One Who Connects replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Stormlight Archive
Given that the Recreance is about 2,200 years away from the nearest Desolation, I would say that they stuck around between Desolations. They were meant to be a force for good, to help the world. After a Desolation, mankind needed a lot of help rebuilding, so I assume they stayed to help and keep the peace.- 34 replies

Questions about Shardblade Summoning
The One Who Connects replied to Faceless Mist-Wraith's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That's a bit more cleverly worded than your original one, so props for that. It circumvents the "they would probably use the dominant heart" bit from before by assigning it to each heart, assuming you can do that. Either way, you stand a very high chance of at least 2 of your heartbeats syncing up since there isn't that long of a time between beats. Once that happens, I don't think they would be distinguishable enough to count as separate beats anymore. -
Well, if we make the assumption the the line of God Kings began after the Manywar with the gift of Peacegiver's treasure, there is a 300 year period from then to Susebron. Given that people of 5th Heightening and above can live forever, and the fact that with exception of a natural offspring heir, the priests have to wait until there is a stillborn Returned, I think it is entirely possible that there hasn't been enough time for a God Queen to have been born, even if they would accept one

Given the "it's up to the Spren" response that Brandon always says, I doubt it.
-
Normal Shardblades are Spren, the Honorblades aren't. But otherwise, I think they glow because they are invested(the Stormlight glows through them, so to speak)

You open the Singing/Interview (in this case: WoR Signing Report - Talenelat) You search for the question you want to quote (it's number 26 this time) You append a #26 to the URL, making it: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1086#26 And this link takes you directly to the question, so you add it to your post. Look at the URL when you click the Notification that I quoted you. It'll have a #comment-564404 at the end of it, which takes you directly to this post

STORMLIGHT SPOILERSThe Silence of the Shardblades
The One Who Connects replied to Vissy's question in Cosmere Q&A
Why wouldn't Kaladin hear that as well? He was holding the blade at the exact same time, and heard only screams which were either: Unintelligible to a proto-radiant, but clear to normal humans Something he understood and devoted exactly zero thought processes about what he just heard Shocking enough for him to not hear it clearly, but not shocking enough to also blur the hearing of Relis, a man who more than likely hasn't even heard a normal Spren speak, much less scream Something that makes more sense than the only logical conclusions I can think of at the moment.- 21 replies

As an alternate explanation, they may all know what happened to Adonalsium, but the only people who would know that that's what Odium is doing are the people who got killed by him, and they are out of the picture. Cultivation is the only witness to a Splintering, so she is the only person other than Odium who knows his technique, and maybe she realizes the similarity, maybe she doesn't.

STORMLIGHT SPOILERSThe Silence of the Shardblades
The One Who Connects replied to Vissy's question in Cosmere Q&A
I'd say the bond with the wielder isn't strong enough for it to speak to the user. Its a step below the Nahel Bond, so perhaps that is quite literally the difference. Brandon has said that the heartbeats are required to "revive a dead Shardblade" so it may not be resurrecting the Spren in the way we describe the word.- 21 replies

Here's the biggest problem I see with "triple compounding" : It doesn't solve a problem that needs to be solved. Regular Compounding solves the problem of it taking forever to store Feruchemical attributes, and possibly being bedridden for the duration(health/strength/speed) Hemalurgic Spikes is what I (and CayJoBla) consider HemaAllo Compounding: Boosting Allomantic strength via Spikes. This lets you get more power out of your metals by burning through them faster(which is what Duralumin does by the way) Triple Compounding would allow you to get more power out of your burned metals, which lets you get even more power out of burning Metalminds. All that this really accomplishes is taking even less time to fill your Feruchemical Stores. IIRC, using Miles an an example, normal compounding doesn't need all that much time to fill up, so making it even faster seems arbitrary. I can definitely see this "triple compound" happening by someone who either augmented or gained one of those powers using a spike, but I see the faster compound being a helpful side effect of the spike rather than the purpose of it. If Miles had gotten a spike giving him A-Gold, he would triple compound by doing it normally, and he may or may not notice the increase, but the point is that he wouldn't care. It doesn't give him anything new that he can do, so what purpose does it serve?
