I don't speak for Maxal, but Brandon has alluded that reviving a blade would be very difficult without the original Radiant. I imagine that has something to do with reviving their oaths. Keep in mind that short of Syl saying "I was only as dead as your oaths," I don't have anything else to back this up.

When you write it out that way, it almost sounds like an addiction. I wonder.. It fits with what happens to Thugs, they get so used to the extra strength that their body can't really cope well with injuries without it. Not too sure for steel or the others.. if the Bronze pulses were actual sounds, I can imagine a savant going crazy about it being "too quiet"

Even if he doesn't specifically make them spacefaring, that doesn't mean he hasn't considered ideas on how to let them do it. I'd wait until we understand some of the magic systems better to ask him about that of course.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
The One Who Connects replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
As far as we are aware, its just the base 16, the God Metals and their alloys. New God Metals (and alloys) would need a shard to invest on Scadrial first. The only counter would be if Yolen had a variant of Allomancy Pre-Shattering. But then the magic system might/would work differently and other stuff.. -
Cultivationblades? Odiumblades?
The One Who Connects replied to Lord_of_Awesome's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is clever. I completely forgot about them, mainly because they haven't had any airtime Not necessarily, since Ruin's Champ used a normal axe and Elend used his... knives (I think). Granted neither of them had magical weapons, so it might happen. I wouldn't put it past Odium's magic imbuing weapon to give all of the Voidbinding powers, as opposed to just 2 like the Honorblades. It would make for a very interesting fight -
Raoden teleporting to Teod
The One Who Connects replied to Oversleep's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Maybe to preserve the "insurmountable distance feeling" that he created in the original edition? Not too sure, maybe that's something to ask him... As for the second point, yea I kinda wondered that too. Now that I've seen the new and old numbers though, I think I have an idea. The difference between Teod and the Dock on the old count was 237 units. The new numbers put that difference at 41 units. Given that each "unit" is only half of his step now, that puts the Docks at 20.5 steps from where he would've gone (presumably the city center/palace gate) I could imagine how far 20 steps would get me with.. reasonable accuracy. If being an Elantrian improves clarity of mind at all, then he's got a better distinction than I do. He might even be one of the people who are just naturally gifted with numbers (bit of an ex machina answer, but it's always possible) -
Raoden teleporting to Teod
The One Who Connects replied to Oversleep's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Ok, ignore my first suggestion then. So I'll compare the old to the new (My copy is pre-Warbreaker ) 1,327,042 reduced to 1,054,442. "Measure my stride, and use that as your unit" measures with cloth and draws line that "duplicated the length of the boy's stride" 1,326,805 reduced to 1,054,401. I am not sure what the reason for all of this is. By doing this, he reduces the length between Elantris and Teod by more than half, while keeping a large number. Maybe it is purely a math thing, fixing things up before writing Elantris 2 and 3. What I am basically saying is that I don't know. -
You could do 2 checks, but make the one easier. You aren't that likely to get hit by a flying rock/other, so you could make it low DC. The cold and the constant winds can't be avoided, but perhaps your Stormlight could act as an additional bonus modifier with Constitution for a Fortitude Save to reduce damage. Maybe apply whichever is higher, so that Surgebinders aren't overpowered. Not sure if there is a precedent for applying "whichever is higher" in D&D or modern d20 though...

Spolier Main characters in 2n half of SA
The One Who Connects replied to bdoble97's topic in Stormlight Archive
If the Dalinar comment is about him surviving to be in the Back 5 storyline, maybe. We do know, however, that Book 3 is his PoV Book. -
Raoden teleporting to Teod
The One Who Connects replied to Oversleep's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Since I don't have the specific passage in front of me, I cannot really say for sure. However, I can still take a guess based on how you describe the situation and what might have changed. If it no longer includes the line where Raoden measures Adien's stride, then is there any possibility that Adien is implying a number using half of Raoden's step? If memory serves me, Brandon mentioned the number of steps as one of the things he did before Peter was there to tell him the realistic math. If the number is unchanged from the original, then there might not be any issue other than "half my step" being convoluted. I might come up with a real idea after I see what all got changed, but I wanted to put these ideas down before I forget them -
Emotional allomancy: Doomed to irrelevance?
The One Who Connects replied to Mason Wheeler's topic in Mistborn
Aluminum bullets get affected by hitting the time bubble when fired from outside, I see little reason to not expect a two-way street with that. -
go to the url and add # and the number/heading you want to go to. ttp://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1048#58 I agree with this sentiment, but just don't feel like that's Nazh's thing. Regardless, there is definitely something up with that Ardent

Spolier Main characters in 2n half of SA
The One Who Connects replied to bdoble97's topic in Stormlight Archive
On a related note, we have seen all 5 of the Arc 2 characters within the 1st 2 books. Lift and Taln even got viewpoint interludes, so i imagine that some of the 1st 5 will have a PoV, just not as major. Also, Arc 2 is roughly 15 years after the end of Arc 1, so changing up the viewpoints seems fitting for that. And as Argel said, he wants to give each of them a proper story via focus books. Brandon did indeed threaten that he could kill off a flashback character before their book and still make the story work. -
Even a Surgebinder would still have to deal with some rocks being flung around, but that's probably not too intense if you aren't at the Shattered Plains. I'd consider storm-tossed rocks as "area attacks" so yea that would still be a Reflex Save. The extra Stormlight they get would probably heal most injuries they'd get.. maybe make that a heal x per turn effect?

@VirtuousTraveller On the Jaddeth Shard-Combo Angle: Here is a recent post I made in Yata's old Topic Secondly, the connections that can be made: 1. Skaze -> Skai = Dominion 2. Skaze -> Shu-Dereth -> Jaddeth 3. Jaddeth -> Worship = Dominion? Jaddeth will return when the whole world worships him. This feels either (a) too easy to be right, or (b) blatant enough to get overlooked. I looked at your theory too by the way. I personally don't like the relationship idea, but 1) that's my opinion, and 2) we likely won't know until Dragonsteel. That doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, for all we know it might work the way you said because they don't have as conflicting Intents as R&P did. I do think that they are in the Cognitive because of getting Splintered, but that's a discussion for another thread.

Just how powerful are the Bands of Mourning?
The One Who Connects replied to Vindicator's topic in Mistborn
On the subject of Kelsier's Metal Knowledge: SH Spoiler Spike-wise, Spook had a collection of them from the dead Inquisitors after Vin blew up Kredik Shaw. That doesn't say who used them, but he and Kel together.. know things. Sazed's Note to Spook mentioned more metals, and with Kel's info: Extrapolation: Kelsiers Metal Knowledge removes the trial and error Vin dealt with for duralumin. Spook being the Lord Mistborn, he has the power/authority to get things done. Combine that power with Kel's ambition.. all manner of things could have been achieved. Actually, here's a thought related to the first spoiler tag. The SoScad Medallion Hacks (they aren't as simple to make as I first assumed) That knowledge reworking the Medallions let people use powers that they don't normally have access to. "Insert clever idea using that once I'm not tired" -
Well, according to one of Shallan's inner thoughts (that'll take me ages to find ) she mentioned that the origin of bathing to keep away the rotspren was "Wisdom of the Heralds." Perhaps therein also lies the origin of soil being related to dirty.

"Plate being Spren" isn't as ridiculous as it sounds, judging by some of the theories on that subject. I personally don't think so for multiple reasons, but that's my opinion. Wait, are you thinking that Plate and Blade were actually in sets, both bonded to an individual KR in the past? Don't think anyone's considered that line of thinking on here yet.

According to this, Brandon states that Parshendi could adopt a form with the spikes from a Kandra Blessing. So those weird hacks like the one you mentioned aren't completely impossible, just highly unlikely. On the subject of making a Kandra with Breaths, the Blessings are made from spikes stealing Human Attributes. Breath(and Awakening) works within the concept of giving life to things, and enhancing the life qualities(Life Sense, Pitch/Color Recognition). While it has not been explicitly stated either way yet, I can see Breath being the easiest way of turning a Mistwraith into a Kandra. I do not see it being the same as the Kandra we know, but that's even further speculation

Eh, why not. Mind you, boiling down the math might put me out of commission for a little while. Edit: or not, what little I've seen so far seems pretty simple

I've heard you guys mention difference between versions already. It kinda helped me phrase my question in the first place If it's mostly a math thing, I stand a better chance of surviving. If remembering all the different type-specific phrases makes a big deal, its' not my forte (except in the cosmere, since the different systems are actually connected) Basically, if all the differing terms boil down to the same math, I can actually form cohesive opinions for once

Ok, so here's a question of clarification from me. KOTOR 2 (closest I've personally gotten to what you guys are talking about) built its combat around a d20 setup. It was rather in the background (and also before I knew any D&D players), so I never really figured it out. My question is if the d20 system works mostly the same in any platform, or if I will have to peruse the D&D wiki to understand what you guys are talking about?

I haven't read most of the writers that you seek to emulate, so I'm probably a bad choice to discuss your ideas from those with. That list shows a lot of ambition though, so I think that your projects will turn out pretty well. It's those quick ideas that you gotta worry about, since people usually don't give them enough effort (guilty). Edit: Regardless, I am really impressed by your extensive post count. I've made 225 in the past 2 months, you've done 70 in about a day.

Only slightly related, but Taravangian's believes that his "change" happens overnight as well. I have slight trouble imagining that someone with his ability and position would not test to see if it is just night or any sleep.
