Willing to chalk it up to "Save planet first, control horde of monsters later"? That seems a very Sazed thing to think
-
Sazed did rather a bit more than just a spin, but that's not the point. I think having just been freed from Ruin, and probably still being mildly in a blood frenzy dampened the natural "run/hide" survival instincts and left them more in the open as everything happened. Heck, they could've just blood frenzied each other to death for a bit before Harmony figured out how to take control of them (Sazed's new at this )

To answer some of these points, I am fairly sure that only the Koloss in the underground tunnels survived the Catacendre, so they had a small population too. I personally thought Kandra could breed, but that it would create mistwraiths. Koloss die and reuse the spikes to make new ones, the Kandra don't "die" naturally, so hemalurgic sacrifices would be needed to transform more mistwraiths. Harmony is kinda against that sort of thing

Well, the modern Terris people are roughly 10 generations of changes in the ash world, which TLR's time did not have to deal with so they are somewhat genetically different. In terms of film-making, he only appears near the end. Well, that and the fact that there are.. 2, maybe 3 other Terrismen in the first book so they can all be semi-distinct characters.

Source I had to look it up to be sure, so it likely wasn't a super obvious plot point. Also ninja'd by Yata and Magestar.

Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
The One Who Connects replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
Like Yata said, we don't know for sure. Personally, I think it has to do with granting sentience. The returned need extra breath to survive, non-sentient awakened objects don't seem to need this. Perhaps an unknown rule of awakening stemming from how little testing has been done. For all we know, Nightblood's "condition" is just because it's a hack of one system's tech in another system -
A connection to Taravangian?
The One Who Connects replied to The One Who Connects's topic in Stormlight Archive
Your entire post came only from the fact that I didn't put Dustbringer in quotes.... well done me I was aware of this, but cut my statement about not debating voidbinding/cultivation because that distinction might've been relevant with the symbol and Kharbranth. -
So I was the images on the coppermind and noticed something strange. http://coppermind.net/w/images/Kharbranth.jpg Look at the corners of the map of Kharbranth. http://coppermind.net/w/images/TWoK_Rear_Endsheet.jpg Now take a good look at the Dustbringer glyph. (Red one on the right side) Seem familiar? What do you guys think it means?

We Will See Gavilar Again?
The One Who Connects replied to SheSmiledAnyway's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm fairly sure that Brandon has stated who all 10 flashback characters would be, although I could be remembering wrong. In fairness to this theory, I believe that there are more non-interlude viewpoint characters than just those 10.- 24 replies

Wax and Wayne Entrance Strategies?
The One Who Connects replied to Radiant Returned's topic in Mistborn
I feel like Wax reduces his weight to push himself higher up, possibly as a distraction so Wayne can take out guards? I think Brandon may have just picked names and a "why it won't work" for most of them. He may have rewritten the scene with an alternate method, but only one idea most likely. -

Theory: Taravangian saw the Spiritual Realm
The One Who Connects replied to Torrieltar's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Yata mentioned the library just as another source of information he could have drawn from. Originally, he only ran the small nation-city of Kharbranth, and pre-Diagram he likely didn't even have his secret society to occupy some of his time. Granted, before his secret society he would be more likely just to read practical stuff, but people can have side hobbies. I fully accept that some information was corrupted by the Hierocracy, but they wouldn't want to alter everything, and it's a lot of effort "inventing" new texts to replace the old, unless they just rewrote specific details (that sounds like Ruin.. odd). All in all, I'm not saying that the books gave him foreknowledge, but spiritual realm or no: mental leaps work better if you have more points to start from. -
So.. would giving it to an Elantrian slowly drain the Dor? That seems like a massive problem, or proof that it could drain/kill the investiture of a Shard

I think the biggest issue with beating an army of Koloss is that people are overestimating how many TLR had. The giant army in HoA was inflated by Ruin controlled Inquisitors "conscripting" the outer dominance's. Elend managed to take.. 30,000 or so? It's still a big number, but nothing insurmountable, especially if you can slow them down a little with long spears/ballista. Would it be a sure thing, no. But it's not a lost cause, especially when the blood fury dies down On the subject of needing higher tier equipment, Koloss are still vulnerable to things like a shot to the heart/brain right? That fact alone could be a game changer for the armies with strong ranged weapons
-
-Han Dynasty (Emperor Wudi) I think China has the numbers here (like normal). Eastern Han Dynasty was a mostly volunteer army, so they did sign up to fight.. Might come down to who has better trained soldiers if the Koloss can be beaten. -Mongol Empire(Genghis Khan) The Mongol Horde may have the advantage in speed (do horses outrun Koloss?) and cavalry against normal soldiers usually goes badly for the soldiers. (Except Macedonia, but that's another story) Could TLR 50 years before the events of mistborn with 10 years of planning and preparation conquer these european nations?(TLR will be fighting actively along with his inquisitors, kandra, and nobility) Allomancy, and TLR himself could really tip the scales, so I'm ignoring those. -Britain (Victorian Era) The Navy will be the biggest issue. Once on land, it'll be close at times. I really feel like this depends on whether ships carrying the Koloss get sunk or not, soldier to soldier I'd give it to the Brits. -Napoleonic France At its height: 680,000 men. Against TLR's roughly a million... I really don't know on this one. Each historical empire will start with its eastern edge grafted onto the coast of the farmost dominance (england will remain an island).

I want to say that they are like sleeper agents or something, allowed to carry on their normal(ish) lives until being called for assignment. They get to be average people and play sports/go to school/etc... when they aren't on a job. Maybe Mr. T wants it to feel more like a normal job than a secret society. Oh, well that's almost a comparison.. Szeth is the Jason Bourne of Roshar before he went rogue. Master assassin, doesn't lose easily, somehow gets everywhere and escapes without much trace

The future of Harmony/Climax of Book 5 SA
The One Who Connects replied to tobar14's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I didn't actually see the bit where you mentioned specific era's. My timeline thing had to do with "trell" being in some way related to Harmony leaving and Stormlight 5. I just figured that with 1980's Mistborn being after Stormlight 5 and the low chance of dealing with Trell altogether in the last Wax/Wayne book that your idea would have to be later on Cosmerically. My bad- 28 replies

How does Mr Ts ability really work?

Not sure where, but I remember seeing somewhere that it took him another day of extra intelligence to translate it, but I'd have to look for the quote. -
The future of Harmony/Climax of Book 5 SA
The One Who Connects replied to tobar14's topic in Cosmere Discussion
To those coming to this topic, please do not debate the nature of opposites. It's happened in several other threads and just serves to derail them. As for your theory.. Mistborn has a space arc so I can't say it isn't possible, but I want to debate a few points. 1. I feel like if this did happen, it would be towards Stormlight 9/10. I'm pretty sure Wax/Wayne is same timeline as SA, and Mistborn Era 2 is after SA arc 1. Come to think of it, we know Harmony leaving Scadrial/arriving on Roshar would do things, but do we know how quickly those things would happen? 2. If Harmony can't defeat Trell/whoever, I doubt Sazed would be willing to leave Scadrial knowing an enemy would control it. 3. Last year's SotS had Elantris 2 and 3 coming out around SA 4 and 5, so something is gonna pertain to those eventually.- 28 replies

While you are right that we may not have seen that section of the Diagram. (I'm certain that there is more to it than what we've seen), I think what happened to Jah Keved is the reason why he would not use the Radiants. Quote Taravangian: The cost is irrelevant. Mankind must survive. He shattered a whole nation to get them all under his banner. Granted, I personally think that is so that whatever the Diagram considers safety can ignore hassle over "authority." War-torn people will welcome an opportunity for peace. War before the Desolation is killing soldiers that could fight though... I think i get why Genius T. isn't allowed to make laws either.

How does Mr Ts ability really work?
The One Who Connects replied to Djarskublar's topic in Stormlight Archive
From the Diagram How many people in the whole of the Cosmere use this term? Almost all of them are Worldhoppers, so his use of this term is likely even more evidence of crossing the realms in some way -
Why Mistborn or Full Feruchemists did not have "mixing effects"?
The One Who Connects replied to Oversleep's question in Cosmere Q&A
Forgive me if this idea is dumb, but I think that the reason we don't see much in the way of combinations is because Mistings exist. The powers are granted separately. On Roshar, they always come in pairs, so they are designed to produce an effect in combination. -
I'm no math expert, but the concept seems sound Sazed did mention putting his metalminds on his ankles to keep him pointed down... Short of Zero G, what else screws with up/down balance?
