There is this topic, and the first post has links to several related F-Steel debates. Edit: Mental Speed is stored in Zinc, so it probably isn't affected by F-Steel. But so far, we really don't know for sure

I realize the 16 thing is integral to the Metallic Arts. I just felt that since Hemalurgy could steal things not of the Metallic Arts, it seemed to fit that it could use materials outside of the MA too.

It's an... interesting theory, and not what i was expecting. Good job. But because discussion, there is probably something to disagree with: @Djarskublar You have a feasible idea. No idea if it's right, but it could potentially work

On Odium's Shard-Murdery Method
The One Who Connects replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Brandon has stated (maybe more than once) that Odium did not directly create the chasm. Several of us assume that the magical pressure of 2 dead shards might have caused the cataclysm. I'll edit with the appropriate WoB in a little bit, assuming i can find it again.. Edit: Spool included it already -
That's an upvote from me. I never noticed that

The assumption that off-world would require Atium spikes gave me an idea. Has Brandon stated that the 16+God Metals are the limit? If not, it's possible that spikes could me made from nearly any metal And about the fact that Ruin told TLR about hemalurgy and didn't use other metals: TLR also didn't tell the Inquisitors (who did most of the researching) about half of the metals either, so its still a possibility

The unified theory of Roshar
The One Who Connects replied to Djarskublar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It sounds like he's saying that the symbiosis/symbiotic bond might be the "Focus" of magic on Roshar. Granted, I could be misreading it too, but that made the most sense when I read it -
Strange passage in Way of Kings
The One Who Connects replied to zeppomarks's topic in Stormlight Archive
The highstorms appear to follow a pattern (at least somewhat) with the definitive "every other Weeping" and the fact that stormwardens are beginning to be able to predict them. Is it possible to presume that the seasons may have evolved around them? Or does weather not work that way -
To me, it sounded like the sDNA of the spikee (can I use that?) is what mattered, the sDNA of the spiker is irrelevant. Less confused wording: All you need to know is where to spike, and to have available people to spike.

@zeppomarks What might you be implying? -

Wait, those weren't the same vision? Well then. Honor really gave him too many to keep track of -
On Odium's Shard-Murdery Method
The One Who Connects replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I may be wrong, but I somewhat remember the Recreance vision as being when Honor mentioned that Cultivation was better at foresight than he was. -
The unified theory of Roshar
The One Who Connects replied to Djarskublar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Where did this come from? I fully understand it, I just haven't heard it -

Ah, but that I can find: Emphasis Mine. Granted, I can see a way for your statement to still be true, given a little creative thinking -
On Odium's Shard-Murdery Method
The One Who Connects replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm really struggling to find WoB on the Seons/Skaze, so I wont deal with that here until then. In short, I'm pretty sure it said that when Odium visited there were no Seons. -
Steel Feruchemy; How does it work?
The One Who Connects replied to Magestar's question in Cosmere Q&A
I like this idea but the heart is a muscle (kinda) so wouldn't storing speed slow your heart rate? Biology was years ago, so I could just be spouting rubbish -
I regret having to inform us that Elsecalling idea may not be feasible Source
-
I haven't been able to find it in recent days, but I swear there was a WoB about highstorms in shadesmar.. I don't remember anything world-breaking, so it was probably a RAFO. But Elsecalling to fast-travel there... that might just work
-
I wouldn't say that it's done, but there is/was a decent wait until Elantris 2 and 3. Which Brandon may or may not have changed for this year's State of the Sanderson. Also @Yata, I like the Dor Influx = Savant concept. I never thought of it that way Perhaps that would make him a bit more Dor Resistant... Oh sorry, now I'm derailing

Not set in stone yet, but... Timeline On the subject of time, what sort of time-frame does the use of "centuries" imply to you? I assume that Jezrien was a King before being made a herald, if this is wrong feel free to correct me. This could actually give a timescale for the span of Desolations.

Hoid's Lerasium and spiritwebs
The One Who Connects replied to Djarskublar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Half of our more "specific/useful" information is from a Q&A session or random snippets from a book signing event, among other things. -
Calculating When Highstorms Occur
The One Who Connects replied to Lewis Nethur's topic in Stormlight Archive
I posted 11 minutes ago. Upvote for the chart and for just how fast you did that. Also, I see what you're getting at now. Maybe I am a visual learner.. One other thing to note, is that Everstorm Day was set for a Weeping with no Highstorm -
Calculating When Highstorms Occur
The One Who Connects replied to Lewis Nethur's topic in Stormlight Archive
I almost noticed a pattern with these numbers, but since they approach the Weeping, how useful this is for the rest of the year is uncertain. This is a sequence of dates corresponding to the last ten highstorms leading up to the arrival of the everstorm. Ok it isn't as useful as I'd hoped it would be, but any result is a result. One quick snippet to ease confusion for those unfamiliar with the Rosharan Calendar: 5 Day Week, 10 Week Month, 10 Month Year 1173090605 = Year 1173, Month 9, Week 6, Day 5 -
Steel Feruchemy; How does it work?
The One Who Connects replied to Magestar's question in Cosmere Q&A
To answer your question: I'm not 100% sure on how it actually works beyond this, so your guess is as good as mine. (Edit: As long as your theory makes a bit of sense, most of us don't mind if its wrong) The most telling aspect of how F-powers work is their storing limits. Knowing what bodily function is physically, sometimes fatally, impeded by over-storing gives the best clue of its inner workings. -
Gold savants might be really buff
The One Who Connects replied to Djarskublar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My main issue with this theory is how one "pumps" investiture into a gold shadow. Duralumin + Gold perhaps? To the best of my knowledge, nobody has attempted that yet. On that subject, I wonder if Duralumin + anything gives a greater output if you have more of that secondary metal... I feel like ironpulling a star destroyer out of orbit now
