  1. @Argel this is best "timeline" I've seen so far, but I as he said, things are still possible.
  2. Vivienna just drained color, it stayed as a stick. Also, did you capitalize "Stick" in the quotes or is it actually like that in the other books?
  3. IIRC, there was mention of children in one of the Eshonai interludes. Something along the lines of wonder who would watch over them, maybe relating to the "turn everyone stormform" stuff.
  4. Do we have an example from the books or a WoB on that? I can't think of any... Here Added emphasis of course And also this, which I haven't seen before It's shortened for convenience, as the rest was arguing the physics of the question, ending with "Ask Peter to confirm the math"
  5. Just to be clear, your "engines" have something to do with the Cubes right? Don't want to be extra confused later on Duralumin boosted Bendalloy is a... I can see it working from the sense of a person's bubble, compressing all of their metal reserves into an instant of shrunken time. But the Cubes don't appear to have a "metal reserve" to run out in that sense. Otherwise, I think that this is a decent enough starting idea. Last question, whats with the title?
  6. One of the quotes, not sure if it's also from Jasnah's notes or in world WoR, mentioned the "taxes through Urithiru getting unreasonable" and called it Radiant corruption. I, and maybe others, feel like there was a stormlight tax to run the Oathgates. That's probably why it fell from popularity and then out of use. I hadn't considered a connection to whoever they were fighting though, that's the kind of cleverness Brandon would try hiding in plain sight
  7. I.. oh. This throws a loop into my understanding. Now I'm curious. At first, I thought you might've meant the Parshendi, but with this...
  8. I wouldn't put it past something Odium-esque to not care about sedition. I would both like to see this, and know who this "they" are. The Unmade are splinters of Odium, meaning that logically they shouldn't be there before Odium, and definitely not before H&C. (Edit: oh wait, you mean the Parshendi. I don't know why would be an issue to the theory though) I cannot find a direct statement, but the Stormfather is a cognitive shadow. We basically assumed that he is Tanavast's. So that "kinda keeps" Honor there, enough for his spren to remain. Ignore how broken that statement is...
  9. I could've sworn he'd said the Heirocracy was like 600, but that doesn't directly matter until we get a time comparison of Nalthis events to Warbreaker events. It probably still wasn't long enough ago, but Vasher could survive on stormlight for a long time. Forgive me, I'm overthinking this
  10. This really seems like a decent premise for some sort of game (not sure which ones to really compare too). Even if they don't gear towards fighting, soulcasting is an amazing replacement for supply lines (which gets ingrained from reading "Roshar vs whoever" threads). I hadn't considered that Elsecallers could transport other people with them, good call. Maybe more of them could increase the efficiency of it (or Jasnah just needs to practice )
  11. Best we've got it these WoB's: Here, here and here Recreance is minimum 700+ years ago, considered "ancient history" by brandon, but also "more recent than late." Personally, that makes it sound like ... 2,000-2,500ish? Opinions, comments, concerns?
  12. @Spoolofwhool that definition is gonna screw with me for a while. @PantsForSquares Yea that's definitely a better way of saying it. Simplicity isn't my strong suit apparently
  13. Granted, there may not have been a massive amount of surgebinders when he bound them to ideals, but "let it be known that he would destroy each and every one, unless they agreed to be bound by precepts and laws." really implies that he thought he could demolish them easily enough. Granted, the limits of what he could do with tension (the force holding objects together) and adhesion (binds unlike things/surfaces together) while not limited by oaths are really unknown. There is also the possibility that the semi-Radiants did not have plate yet either, so he could affect them directly with his powers.
  14. I meant that different commands/command visualizations could produce all manner of results which do not necessarily resemble what shardblades in anything other than shape. It stemmed from me wondering what madness could ensue if a Nightblood type-sword had a more positive command.
  15. It didn't seem as cut and dry in your prior post, so I apologize for the misunderstanding. Personally, I feel that the nature of Awakening allows for enough variance that comparing one to Shardblades would be a bit of an ordeal. Different commands, differing visualizations of the same commands, etc... I'm also sorry for the time-gap before submitting this post. Got distracted by dinner
  16. Huh, maybe that's why the idea stopped being discussed much on here. Edit: now that I think about it, Brandon hasn't shot down the idea of making more Elantris shaped cities elsewhere... I don't know
  17. Relevant WoB Semi-Relevant WoB While I agree that it could probably be done more efficiently, I am semi-unsure if it would be really a different type.
  18. Personally, I (and possibly others) have had this idea at some point, but without confirmation we don't really know for sure. We've more or less figured that Elantris was a power amplifier, which is why it's so strong near there and weaker elsewhere. Although we have absolutely no information on who built the city and why other than Brandon saying he won't tell us for "reasons" It doesn't seem based on where you stand on the map. It will be based on the map of Arelon/Aonic Language regardless. Forgery stamps include a map of MaiPon. Raoden noticed that the Dakhor Bones resembled symbols of the Fjordell language, maybe the languages are based on the country maps.
  19. That having been said, I don't actually know where the rules mark "too soon after release," but I think it's fine for SH at this point. Most of us just put it in spoiler tags to be safe
  20. If we consider Kaladin's weight that the shield would have to pull away from, that might explain why there isn't much movement. It could even be the fact that he was running in that way to begin with making it even less noticeable. I am not going to fully believe/refute it until we get evidence proving one way or the other, but that's how it is with theories. That having been said, I don't really have much trouble with this, as you explained it rather well. Only real exception is Regrowth, as bringing the newly dead back to life seems a bit beyond cellular growth/division. I could make an argument about Cohesion, but it doesn't really fit with what I feel that you're arguing. This is genuinely the first time I have ever seen/heard this on here. I've seen the bubble being argued as a sign of Savantism maybe twice total, but never something like this. I'm somewhat curious, but this probably isn't the place for it.
  21. If i remember right, Brandon said that TES isn't long enough after Elantris for their to be much change of tech level. How specific that really is depends on a lot of conditions, but it shouldn't be a massive time-gap
  22. Actually, the given WoB's contained things that got me confused on timeline due to this one: Link Further than you would first guess probably implies at least pre-recreance. But from my prior post: attempt by someone who didn’t know how Shardblades were made. These 2 things just don't mesh well in my head.
  23. Couldn't he have just used the well once Ruin was no longer trapped in it? Or do you imagine the Well probably isn't usable for the better part of a millennium while the power is restoring?
  24. Nothing will, as Brandon has said that Nightblood is the most heavily invested non-shard thing in the cosmere, but I see your point. Speaking of devising it on their own: Semi-relevant WoBs Bit of emphasis added. These also give strange vibes about when Vasher showed up the first time
  25. While it may not "require" a bond, there still is one. WoB (not sure if it counts as the same type, but it exists.)
