I'm replaying Baldurs Gate EE, this time as a Bard. I've limited my party to four so far in order to level up more quickly. I think dual classing a thief/Mage might have been a stronger build, but I'm enjoying it anyway. My character is neutral good, with very high charisma, intelligence, and dexterity(I got an insanely high stats roll in character creation) but my wisdom and strength are low ish. I like the evil party member characters, so my excuse for having them follow my good pc is my high charisma and lack of wisdom. My character is recognizes the strength of the evil characters( Dorn, Edwin, and Viconia) and is trying to harness their power for good. Unfortunately they sometimes sway him to do ill. -

I got my braces tightened this morning. They really hurt today. I'm having a really hard time not cussing out the world. -
So given how difficult it is to add most customization, it looks like we're going to be lucky with badges So currently, we're looking at an eventual addition of badges, the lower quotas, and an aim for a different upvote culture that isn't so inflationary. I'm not sure exactly what or how the different culture would be made, but I guess through a big original announcement and a reminder when a thread, like Bad Day, started becoming inflationary and on the line of abusing the system. That wouldn't infringe on people's ability to use their upvotes/downvotes so much as work to re-define their meaning, at least to my thinking.

I don't think I'd put it nearly as such an either or thing at all. I have a friend, we'd known each other for a while, and we talked about being more and decided it wasn't gonna fit very well. It was kinda hard on me for a while, but it was more comfortable for her, and right now we're each other's Best friend. Im just sharing because I don't want you to get a feeling like it's either gonna go well or absolutely bomb, or that you'll be able to tell at first. -

Bravo! This is about the same advice I could give, written better as well -
I'm probably the youngest of the older generation(to steal Meg's term) and I certainly don't. They help keep the forum active. My old forum died out from lack of use, so I'm very appreciative of people who can keep forums going while we wait for new books and WoBs. Do I hold them in less revere than Kurk or Skaa or Chaos? Yup.

I've been catching up on reading through this thread, and haven't reached the end yet, but I like this post. I really like the idea of badges/awards that might be able to balance the rep system a little. I remember discussions about it six months or a year ago that said they weren't likely, but if they are now that'd be great. I'm not a fan of resetting everyone's rep count. I'm not very active now, but I worked hard to get the rep I have, and if the rep got reset then I'll likely never come anywhere close to what I have now. I am uncomfortable with the amount of up votes the bad day thread uses. It doesn't feel like a thread that adds much new content to the forums, and yet it's one of the highest upvote threads I've read. I love the idea of s thread for supplying a healthy place to rant, comfort, and advise, but I honestly feel like the rep has undermined maybe the last 75 pages. When I first joined rep was still mostly earned by the theorizers and SE players. Personally, I still see the Reckoners and other RPs as very similar to the SE players, and don't mind the high rep gotten from hubdreds of pages of well done role playing. I think they add an important part to the community, and the content added is probably pretty good stuff(I haven't read much of it). I think that the rep that feels most inflationary to me is in the general discussion and general Brandon discussion. Both have multiple threads that don't feel, to me, like they add much meat to the site. They do add nice things though. Would it be possible to turn off upvote and downvote options for those areas? Limit the areas where upvotes can be given?

Partially true. There's different versions, and only one explicitly connects FMA to earth. I think it's similar to wheel of time, it really probably shouldn't be cosmere, but it would work really well if it was.

Your organization seems to agree with my Gunsmoke barony in many ways. Would you accept my offer of sponsorship? Free residence and donuts at the barony, as well as access to powerful allies and stores of knowledge.

It would be the only reason I would come back to it, the little I saw of him as Allanon looked good.

I lean towards equivalence or balance.

Yeahh....I couldn't finish the first episode. I've never been a Shannara fan, and the books feel just as cliche as the show. I will say this, for a tv show, those effects were gorgeous. I actually really liked the look of the troll(as far as I got). My biggest problem? It feels like a mix of GoT and one of the dozen teen vampire shows. I'm guessing that's what the creators were aiming for, since that's probably a great market to aim for. It's just not me. I feel bad though, what with Deathstroke acting as the Druid and everything.

I'm strongly leaning towards Bavadin, but I think that some kind of new and evil dominion would be really cool. Interplanetary war between Fjordell and Scadrians? Please

Official Star Wars Episode VII SPOILER Thread

I'm pretty sure your last point is being left open for the new EU universe to answer. It drives me nuts not knowing what was going on with the Republic and everything, but I'm guessing that's the point. I loved Finn, maybe more than Rey. I guess I hadn't thought about it being odd him working in sanitation, aaaaand being a stormtrooper. -
I remember that series! Yeah, I only read the first book, but was meh I agree. Anderson isn't a very creative writer as far as I can tell. Glad you're enjoying it though

Official Star Wars Episode VII SPOILER Thread

One of my classmates told me today that she's finally going to see the movie tonight. She loves movies and stuff, so I don't really get what's taken her so long. Somehow she's managed to stay away from all the spoilers for the past couple weeks. It's amazing to me that she has. Apparently a Lot of threats were made towards people who even thought about spoiling -
The answer to the first is yes, but insanely difficult. You have to attract another Spren, bond with it, and live both orders ideals, without contradicting either order at any point. Realistically, the limit is two, but I guess in an infinite universe someone would manage more.

I finished Fate/Stay Night unlimited Blade Works. Meh It just can't hold a candle to Fate/Zero in my opinion. Excepting Gilgsmesh, all the villains were creeps and or shallow feeling, which I didn't like. As for big G...ehhh, I guess his character got a bit deeper from Zero, but his appearance felt forced. I'm also not sure I like the resolution. The biggest problem was that it felt like EVERYTHING was an exception to some rule somewhere. Zero was amazing because the rules that were made in the beginning were mostly obeyed, much like Sanderson. I never felt that way in Night, and it really bothered me.

I loved War & Peace, I read it hardcover and it took...about four months I think. I think listening to it would have been hard for me, it would've been harder for me to keep track of the characters. Edit: I haven't had much time for reading since I finished Gardens of the Moon, but I think I'm going to go with Wexler's book first. If school doesn't take too much time today I'll start this evening. I'm almost finished listening to Empire of Ivory( Temeraire 4) and I've got the fifth book on my shelf waiting when I'm ready.

I think the poster meant easy as in at least easily understandable, defined, and not impossible by any stretch. Reviving a dead Spren when you weren't the original knight is far closer to impossible than changing your heart enough to revive your own Spren.

Swear allegiance to the Gunsmoke Barony, and through it, the Frozen Newcago Empress. We have donuts, a supply of spice, the scholarium of the empire, all magical artifacts that automatically come from allegiance to Newcago plus the opportunity to splice in some Star Wars artifacts. Leader, Baron Scottleft, the humanoid typhoon, force user, and steel twin born.
