  1. The content level has hopped up a bit, for any curious. I'm only a few episodes into the second season, I've been busy this week and had other entertainment that I wanted to get to first. It's still not too bad, on par with Leverage and Sherlock maybe. So far I'm not liking the second season as much just because everyone is so angry, but they Should be really and it could totally change.
  2. I'm still sick. I started feeling bad Monday, and it didn't get better till Thursday. Thursday I felt great ish, but I'm back to having a cold again now.
  3. I'm about two thirds through Hogfather, it's one of my favorite Death books so far, definitely above Reaper Man. I'm also about halfway through The Aeronaut's Windlass. I picked it up at the library on a whim because I couldn't get into Dresden, so I wasn't expecting to be able to get into this new series. It's actually really good though, and I'm loving the lighter tone. I'm way more comfortable reading it. I'm not a cat person, so the cats aren't doing anything for me, aside from that I can't think of a real downside to the book. Are the Codex books closer to this series or Dresden in tone and content?
  4. Yeah...I don't understand his reasoning....no way it's gonna turn out well. Although I guess that's the point of Legends of Tomorrow. There were parts of last night's episode that I really liked. I'm seriously hyped for next week's Flash though. Mark Hamil coming back? Please!!!! Might have been the most exciting part of watching last night's episode.
  5. So i thought that the Hawk people, Thanegarians, were aliens? Does it just depend, sometimes they are and sometimes they're not? Or is it something more like Wonder Woman, where she's both the daughter of a Greek goddess and an alien.
  6. Just have to say, I loved Damian's little bit in this episode! That was a fantastic scene.
  7. I'm getting sick, and my shoulder upper back is hurting. I think it's mostly from carrying a massive table down a staircase for my gramma over thanksgiving, plus stressing it with my own weightlifting.
  8. Miles had spikes?!
  9. I'm about two hundred pages in, and actually quite enjoying it. I'm enjoying that it's lighter than the Dresden books that I read, without loosing realness. The cats are kinda odd...maybe if I was a cat lover I'd appreciate them more.
  10. There's been one night over that was easy to skip, language is actually really pretty mild, and violence isn't too bad. The worst violence I can think of is one episode where the villain can cause violent mobs but the camera mostly just shows people swinging their arms around.
  11. So I started watching The Alphas yesterday, and it is a fantastic. It's kind of a mashup of a superhero and cop show. Think Legion, but with a team of people who have powers instead of just Leeds. It's balancing episodic vs seasonal plot really well so far, which I love. Any other fans? I'm only about half way through the first season, but I'm binging it bad.
  12. I got Gotyes album Making Mirrors from the library. I've been in love with several of the songs for a while, but listening to the whole album was a totally different experience. As a whole it was absolutely beautiful, I'm gonna be listening to it a lot. Also got Bastile's album. Again, it's better as a whole, although the quality difference wasn't as large.
  13. I've finished Pyramids as well, but I already did small gods. Next Pratchett I've got is Hogfather
  14. It's a possibility. I personally find the idea kinda melodramatic and cliche, "ohhhh my gosh, there's aliens! War is obviously the solution!" I'm personally expecting some tension and in the far future some terrorism, but not a full out war. The third era sounds like it'll be about intelligence agencies versus terrorists, maybe each other, and the fourth era is space opera. Neither fit the bill for a world war level conflict.
  15. Yeah, feeling too lazy to change my profile too. Maybe I'll do that later.
  16. Finished Solar Express, the science parts were good, the rest blehh. I've almost finished Pyramids, it's been an excellent listen. I've started 2010 the sequel to 2001 a space odyssey. It feels different from the first book, but still good.
  17. I really loved the concept, but actually haven't watched past the pilot either hahaha. It was just so funny hehe
  18. Dangit, I was going to come onto this thread and make that joke and exit awesomely
  19. Wait....but Brandon has said there's kinda sorta a chance that WoT is somewhat in the cosmere. Guys, Alcatraz and Reckoners are cosmere. It's confirmed.
  20. Sorry guys, something came up, and I'm winding up having a date tonight so I won't be able to participate
  21. Haha, good to know. I've been reading through this thread and was just getting ready to ask about that and violence/darkness.
  22. There's at least one more Ohioan that I know of. Didn't know about world fantasy, that's great!
  23. I just finished it, and I think that at least watching the first arc would be a good idea. There's 22 episodes and about four different story arcs, although the lines between them are fuzzy. The first arc is the longest I think, but also in a way the best, so if you feel like it, it'd be a good choice. If you like it, watch more, if not then you're probably better off moving on.
