  1. I'm listening now for my reread. Just started part four. Michael Kramer is voicing Pattern...this isn't ok. Pattern is a Kate Reading character. Ahhhhhh! *Twitches*
  2. I don't have much to add commentary-wise, but I feel like this would be a good addition to have as a handy reference for the thread. Italics and bolding mine. Is this just a reference to the Heralds relenting to the torture and allowing them out of Braize, or is it something more?
  3. It's not on-screen, but later she plays Tarachin with the heads of the Fused who came after her.
  4. I kind of like doing minor characters, though next time I'll have to be more recognizeable. At Gen Con I went at the Cabbage Merchant from Avatar: The Last Airbender and you wouldn't believe the positive reaction I got from people. Really though, I want to start putting some money aside and really make an amazing Pattern cosplay.
  5. He was half dead, that's not just the cracked soul. Unless a drunken stupor is comparable to life threatening burns, I'm not convinced. And there's also a clear difference in their ability to remember the visions, Dalinar has a crystal clear memory, the other Doesn't remember enough not to be surprised later despite the dream interactions. HoA MBSH Um, no. I'm supposing that the Elsecaller note in the gem archive is exactly that.
  6. He was very confused until I told him the story of your post and how I just decided "yeah, okay," then he laughed as much as he could with his cold. It was definitely an interesting experience trying to make my costume look like a grungy bargoer then standing up there next to all those beautiful cosplays of named characters.
  7. Being bound to a spren post death would qualify him as not normal. Mistborn: Secret History spoilers As for being able to go hidden, that could be explained as part of why the sibling went dormant. If he wasn't active at all, there'd be no way to detect him, Odium is trapped off world. Morning MSH spoilers. We don't have much information with way how far past Braize Odium's influence and vision extended beyond that of the unmade before his release in the Everstorm. I don't think it's implausible that he could have remained hidden, especially if the spren went dormant.
  8. You have to die to become a cognitive shadow as far as I'm aware.
  9. Is your issue one of semantics or you just don't think that Nohadon was a Surgebinder period? I used 'Bondsmith' because that's the name we have associated with that order. As I explained in the comment immediately before yours, just because he wouldn't have been considered a Knight Radiant, doesn't mean he wouldn't have been a surgebinder with the same abilities as a modern day Bondsmith. We know that the spren based the bond off of the Honorblades, so there's no reason to think that, if he had been a surgebinder, his surges would be remarkably different just because of the establishment of the orders. The nature of the surges and the powers have no reason to change, as we have no reason to think that the Honorblades have changed in how they manifest the surges. As I understand it, the establishment of the Oaths and founding of the Knight's Radiant was just a way to limit the progression of their power/add checks and balances.
  10. While the Order of the Bondsmiths might not have been around, having bonded one of the spren associated with the order would still give him access to the same surges and power as far as we know. The spren modeled the bond after the Honorblades. Ishar founding the KR shouldn't change the nature of Surgebinding, just the progression of the Nahel bond as I understand it.
  11. Nohadon's situation with the vision, then when he seems to answer the question, continuing the conversation where it left off as the "thunderclast" hit Dalinar right when Dalinar was struggling for meaning is far more than just a feeling of being a child with Gavilar, which I do agree is likely Dalinar experiencing the spiritual realm. Nohadaon has to be shaping things in a way others have not been. Dalinar reached out for forgiveness, Nohadon seems to be reaching out to Dalinar.
  12. What if it's just the intent of the shard of honor?
  13. At this point, i don't want to make any hard assumptions either way about the superspren. I'm not completely convinced by the theory that it's the spren of Urithiru at this point. I'm not sure we necessarily have any hard evidence on when the sibling withdrew. From the gem archive, It seems like they had two towards the end before the Stormfather splintered under honor as I am supposing, so if it's the spren that's powering Urithiru that makes the third Bondsmith, the one that kept bonding, then I don't think we have a a timeline mixup at all. No, but if this is a thing then Brandon has left us a trail of breadcrumbs to follow to see how he did it imo.
  14. Probably would have been the better choice to use the present tense when doing the search I did do rather than the past tense, 'zipped.' *headdesk* I burned as much time as I'm willing, trying to track down something that small.
  15. I might be misremembering as well, but I seem to remember her doing so in WoK or WoR, or at least his chest after he said something that annoyed her. Problem is I don't want to go searching through what has to be every single interaction between them based on that description, so in light of me not being able to provide a quote to back it up we should treat it as not true.
  16. Do we know when the Sibling withdrew definitively? I'm not saying it didn't manifest for centuries, I'm saying it withdrew on his death and he's been pulling the strings ever since. That Elsecaller was just the first to notice something different.
  17. Didn't Jasnah get her sketches of the Heralds from Hoid?
  18. Syl zips into Kaladin's head at points and she can manifest enough in the physical to carry a leaf, yet can still turn invisible. Pattern can't turn invisible, but can manifest enough to push locks. We've only ever seen Glys once, so it's not a stretch to assume he doesn't have much of a physical presence and can just chill out where he pleases, especially someplace familiar. It's a matter of habit, not function, at least in my opinion.
  19. In the vision, he's in Urithuru. If his WoR vision is from Nohadon as well, that is also in Urithuru. He's in Thaylen city for the other two, which puts him close to an Oathgate. I'm not disagreeing, I'm interpreting the statement as saying the sinking withdrawing meant it wasn't bonding anyone, so when Nohadon died, it withdrew and stopped Bonding, leaving them with two Bondsmiths. Then, when Honor changed, presumably splintering into the Stormfather, that left Melishi bonded to the third spren during the time of the Recreance. Connecting to that extent to someone who's in the beyond when you don't understand your powers seems like a bit of a stretch to me. To me, the more plausible answer is Nohadon was able to learn some pretty weird stuff from Ishar, Binder of Gods.
  20. Are you saying he has a separate gemgrowth in his chest, or that his heart has been replaced my a mutation into a gemheart? With the former, the quote about him being within Renarin's heart doesn't make sense, with the latter, human biology wouldn't allow such a drastic change.
  21. I don't see a way to biologically make this work. There's some rules that are very consistent with how Stormlight works physiologically speaking, and just substituting in a gemheart wouldn't work. Human Biology is not the same same as native Rosharan biology, and gemhearts are a matter of body chemistry.
