  1. Argent (paraphrased) Is the number of Unmade fixed? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Yes. Argent (paraphrased) Is it ten, is it ten, is it ten, is it ten, is it ten? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Is it ten? No, it's not ten. I'm actually working on a theory similar to yours. I've aggregated all the quotes on my PC, but I haven't finished writing it out yet. But there can't be a tenth unmade to be revealed later.
  2. What do you call a fight between a coinshot and a lurcher?
  3. I disagree with this. Kaladin's guilt isn't the cause to his depression. His depression is clinical. If anything, his depression fuels the guilt more.
  4. Kaladin became a soldier to protect Tien, he was born into a surgeon's household with a regard for human life as sacred. Kaladin still hates Elhokar at the end of WoR, but he's not willing to sacrifice himself to that hatred. Moash doesn't have that core ideology that defines him, he was a wanderer and then sought only revenge. He has no purpose, which is why he's become the perfect tool.
  5. You located it, that's the hard part. Finding quotes on an ebook is easy once I know what to look for. All the kudos go to you.
  6. Best unintentional joke award goes to Sadeas: Gotta throw in another Pattern line. Pattern is the best spren:
  7. Looks like I'm wrong. This is what happens when you haven't listened to the book 5 times.
  8. Could Moash have used a Dawnshard to kill Jezrien?
  9. Nice! Chapter 121 Ideals page 1123 Surges?
  10. These words are accepted.
  11. We know from Peter that the Larkins are the adolescent form of the Lanceryns, a greatshell from Aimia.
  12. Nightwatcher...and here I was super excited about thematically fitting in with Dawnsinger. That is so deevy.

  13. This definitely makes the most sense to me. We know that Connection allows you to translate into other people's languages, and what is a bond between a spren and their radiant other than increased Connection? When Kaladin strays from his oaths, Syl is obviously still able to form thoughts and concepts but has difficulty communicating them, which to me is reminiscent of a person having a stroke and experiencing expressive aphasia. Pattern seems to show the same sort of communication deficit when Shallan is having her problems with Veil and Radiant. The further down the rabbit hole that Shallan goes, the less verbalized patterns warnings get and the more he is reduced to just humming to bring her back to herself. I think this is fairly good evidence that the connection between the spren and the radiant is breaking down and is disrupting their connection and therefore their ability to use their radiant's language
  14. At this point, I'm convinced this was Odium starting up the process to send Dalinar's memories back to him. I can pull the quotes on request, but Odium's associated with a golden light, to the point where Dalinar uses gold as Odium's standard color for their maps, and Cultivation stated that taking Dalinar's memories would be a weapon Odium could use to help make Dalinar his. Odium also references the memories casually at Thaylen City, so it seems fairly intuitive he would have wanted them to build up to that point to crush Dalinar, he just underestimated the Blackthorn, pretty easy to do.
  15. If Odium and Ba-Ado-Mishram can connect directly with Singers as Odium does, what use would there be to keep Voidlight in spheres? We've seen no evidence that the fused need to be able to transport Voidlight, so what would be the point? How would you remove the Voidlight without removing the unmade from the prison? Plus, Aesudan basically tells us that Gavilar found Yalig-Nar. There's also no reason to hide the other one from the Parshendi if it's just Voidlight. They've been given sphere A, why would gavilar care if they also then have sphere B that has been tied to a chain if it's just Voidlight? There are far too many inconsistencies for me to believe it's just Voidlight in those.
  16. Honestly for me it was Eth. Leave Bridge Four alone!
  17. Here's a more specific quote for you from that chapter. If we assume this is either just Alethkar royalty or the Kholin family line, we already have 'lines of monarchs.' I wonder if the Sunmaker is in there? Bonus points for me if Dalinar equips a lifeless Sunmaker with Oathbringer. Can you expand on the possibility of the fourth?
  18. So we now officially have two people on Roshar with the ability to Awaken. We also have human death rites that soulcast human forms into stone, and multiple WoB that this would allow those statues to be awakened (pity I didn't get to ask in person, they got much more nuanced info.) With this context in mind, and in the company of the bolded selection from Gavilar's funeral, what do you guys think the chances are of seeing a Rosharan army of the dead in the future? Warbreaker Spoilers:
  19. Gavilar didn't die by a Blade, he was impaled on a length of wood from the fall.
  20. Gonna go ahead and spoiler tag this beast.
  21. Azure references it in Chapter 93, Kata, just not by name.
  22. I don't really have much to add to the discussion, but Storms, as Jasnah was walking up to Renarin I was only able to keep calm because I kept thinking "this is nowhere near as bad as @FeatherWriter's Renarin scene from the 'Turning protagonists into antagonists for fun' thread. You can do this.' So uh... thanks for the emotional trauma back in 2014. It really came in handy today.
  23. Gonna go through and read everything that I've missed over the next couple days, but for now, all have to say is this: "I emerge from my coma, a heavy book in my hands, and I know that I have read true glory."
  24. @Zmann966 I have a Studio mic and desk stand for it, but not much experience using it. It's a recent acquisition I haven't gotten much of a chance to use outside of attached to my desktop, so I'm not sure how much help I could be other than providing an extra mic for the day.
