Pattern is on point. "No mating!" "Stupidity. Very interesting."

At least one of them he doesn't have to worry about keeping focus.

Interesting. I guess I'm very confused as to who they would have been fighting then, or why they would be needed. In Starfalls, the officer references 'the devils on the front lines." Perhaps the victory at Aharietiam is the closing of the bridge he Nalan has referenced, and the fighting thereafter is the destruction of remaining forces? I'm curious for your take on this quote, the pronoun usage is unclear: Is he saying that he's found remnants of listeners who can use the old forms hiding and they were able to summon voidspren from outside, or that the listeners were able to summon a cluster of voidspren because the Voidspren were able to hide on Roshar given the precedent that Nalan has found Voidspren hiding before? It seems a very important distinction which 'them' he's found remnants of hiding before. I think Eshonai's mother quoting the old song actually accounts for this. I quoted it in my first post, but I'll requote the relevant part. The day of the storm definitely sounds the like the day that the plan was put into action. We know that the listeners use highstorms in modern times to change forms. We know that Voidbringers didn't change forms using the storm in previous Desolations from Jasnah. The song describes it as the farthest place, and them as the last legion, so they just could have been the very last holdouts in the path of the storm. This is all speculation at this point, but we know nothing about the methods in which they unbound all the parshmen. I could even imagine an investiture sucking reverse everstorm that travelled the same path, the reverse of the highstorms, and so the Last Legion was able to flee into an oncoming highstorm and make the change before it was forced on them. That's all highly speculative. Looking back over the song though, it does seem to point out that the plains were pre-shattered before the Last Legion was sent there. I'm not quite so sure that's what this implies. Here's the quoted source material: And the Songs Eshonai's Mother sings directly states that this was all part of the plan. That's highly subjective haha. There are certain lines that I would be unwilling to be a part of my company if I knew they were being crossed elsewhere, whether or not I participated in them. Other people might have a look the other way attitude. The only WoB I could find on Nahel Bonds and human lifespans was an RAFO from 2014. I'm not gonna rule that out just yet.

The clerk who slew the release date...

I said "beautiful,"

It's a very rare treat for a Kandra to have a beautiful moustache, given their aversion to hair and all. As a fellow moustache enthusiast bully for you, sir! They will not escape the beauty of facial hair.

How to contact Brandon - form failed
Fifth of Daybreak replied to ai83's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When I log in to Yahoo from my computer it gives me a warning message that my email is not as secure as it could be. I always have to wonder if they're telling me that because I'm sending it to a third party app on my phone or because I'm still using Yahoo email services. -
Brandon in Boss Monster
Fifth of Daybreak replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I can't believe I missed this that's what I get for only playing two player games of Boss Monster. (Also, Reddit is saying it's Boss Monster 2 and I don't want to go digging through my games right now to check.) -
24 hour shift on the ambulance. I'm gonna drive like a skyeel out of aimia on discharges and ignore my partner all day when I'm not driving to calls so I can shove my face in my phone and greedily suck in as much Stormlight as I can hold.

Audiobook users are pre-parshendi confirmed.

It seems likely that it was a Herald, as their conversation into implies a heavy involvement we didn't see from Eshonai's perspective, but that leaves a lot of questions. How did they form the voice without Lightweaving? How are they aware of the rhythms? How could they have done this without being seen by the parshendi? Why would Venli have been involved? Voidspren doesn't make much sense if Ulim counts that action as working against bringing back Odium. It could be that the ear had to happen in order to bring the Listeners to an appropriate mental state though. Eshonai calls the stormspren angerspren, and we know fighting hurts a person, so starting this war could have been a necessary event for Odium as well. It seems like we're getting more questions than answers.

Will Michael Kramer and Kate Reading still be able to lull me to sleep at that speed?

I usually do 1.5. If I go to 2x I feel like I miss some of the new interpretation I'm looking for. Dramatic pauses and the like.

I'd expect this to be more related to why the Shin call stone cursed.

I checked, it is.

Mistborn: House War
Fifth of Daybreak replied to Themasterhunter's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I happened to get one of the Hoid cards at Gen Con. WoB was that the only way to get one was to ask him about it, so the release party sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Probably the only other way in existence to officially get one of these. -
I'm talking specifically about the voice from the prologue leading Venli and Klade to Szeth, the quote I provided.
-
How does this match up with Ulim calling them traitors? Is this confirmation that Venli was the Listener Proto-Radiant?
-
I've been drowning my partners in random fanboy stories. I live in rural Midwestern United States. It's kind of nice to talk about something they completely don't relate to for a change haha. 24 hours on the Oathbringer Ambulance. My partner on Tuesday is one of my regular partners, I like him a lot, and already per-warned him. I got tunnel vision and requested the signing off and didn't think about the day of the release. Rookie mistake. You think I would have learned after not requesting Words of Radiance off.

I have three copies ordered, none of which I have a possibility of getting early. Audible and Kindle won't release early. Our computer overlords are cruel taskmasters indeed. I have to get my physical copy through Anderson's Bookshop so that way I can go to the signing and see Brandon again. If you meet him a third time does he have to grant you an RAFO?

@Beatsmorn Thanks! So basically, it's to help reinforce that severing the Parshmen's ability to think could be construed as breaking the second ideal of the Edgedancers if they had the information about the spren and the Listeners. The Listeners could be seen as an ignored party who's been betrayed by the spren and were forced to turn towards Voidspren. By attacking them in such a way, or being party to that strategy, the Edgedancers would then not be listening to the parshmen who have been ignored by the spren in favor of the humans. Like I said though, it seems like a stretch that the Edgedancers would be that acquainted with Listener history or culture considering the war between them.
