  1. Gravity also pulls things together. And their powers are what associate them with the wind. On secondary spren: The secondary spren seem to be attracted to the surgebinder while they use their powers. When Kaladin moves through the air he attracts Windspren, when Shallan is creating things she attracts Creationspren, when Lift grows things she attracts lifespren, when a dustbringer dustbrings something they get... firespren?
  2. I think he was a Skybreaker. Amaram assumes he's a Ghostblood, but doesn't know. If Helaran had a tattoo Amaram would know. Amaram doesn't know what he's doing. He knows somethings but is clueless about others. Your theory relies on Amaram's assumption. Both Gavilar and Amaram assume it is the Ghostbloods coming to kill them and both are wrong. I doubt Amaram is aware of the Skybreakers because Amaram doesn't know the Heralds are active or about an Order of Radiants still working in the world.
  3. The Santhid is a giant Rosharan creature that has Spren connected to it, it likely has a gem heart. Therefore it is probably considered a greatshell.
  4. Well, Natanatan has the Chasmfiends with Emerald Hearts Sela Tales has teh Yu-nerig Rishir has the Tai-na Aimia has the Lanceryn Are Santhids only found around Thalath or are they more wide-spread? So we need a great shell for Iri, Vhalav, Alethela, and Makabakam. I doubt Shin kak Nish would have a greatshell.
  5. I agree, in Stumps case, she didn't even realize she was healing people. I've always taken the stance that Renarin embodies the learned ideal of the Truthwatchers and YM (and now Stump) embodied the Giving part. Truthwatchers are the only order (other than maybe Skybreakers and that we know of) that seem to have more than more spren searching for a human to bond withl. Syl says she was the only Honorspren, Wyndel says he was chosen to come, and Pattern says something about being sent. I can't remember what Jasnah says about Ivory. I'm interested if their are one or two other Bondsmiths bonded to the other Godspren yet.
  6. I agree, that for the Lightweavers it's probably Creationspren and I like your guess of Logicspren for Elsecallers. I'm not sure about Flamespren for Releasers, we need to see them first, I'm not sure it has anything to do with Fire. For Skybeakers, are there Righteous spren?
  7. I suspect Nalan is wrong and Ishar is either wrong, or lying. The desolation don't come with the Radiants. They came for thousands of years before Radiants and none came for a thousands years after the last desolation and before the Recreance. The Desolations come when One of the Heralds gives in from their torture and some gateway between Braize and Roshar opens that allows the Heralds to return and for Voidspren to go through as well. I suspect it is part of the oathpact. The desolation cycle lasted longer this time because Talenelelat is a one tough SOB and he took 4500 years to crack, and since there were no other Heralds to break first nothing happened until Taln broke. Desolations are probably preceded by an sharp increase in Radiants, but I suspect the causation is the other way around.
  8. I've suspected the Tukari godking since we learned in WoR that Mraise doesn't think he is fully human or at least not of the local variety. Edgedancer just made me sure it was Ishar. As for the Heirocracy? I think they were just bureaucratic priests and the Sunmaker used propaganda to justify his take-over.
  9. The gemhearts are said to be emerald gems. I looked at the quote and I agree, Brandon's words make the third seem correct.
  10. But Skybreakers still must follow the first Ideal: Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination
  11. It seems that Gem types matter in Fabrial magic, the magic from Cultivation, but they may not matter in Honor magic, surgebinding. So Jasnah may either be hiding her true nature, she may think it doesmatter, so it matters (Like how Szeth thinks it takes ten beats to summon his blade), or maybe with the transformation surge it does matter.
  12. The Old Magic doesn't seem to be something people can access like Surgebinding (Honor with help from Cultivation), Fabrials (Cultivation with help from Honor), and Voidbinding (Odium with power from Honor) but instead something that is granted by Cultivation's power directly through the Nightwatcher. It is Cultivation cultivating little changes through people who come to see her that will ripple out and cause changes in the world. Taravangian, Lift, and Dalinar have all been changed and we'll see if those changes fit into a grander plan by Cultivation that comes together in the end.
  13. I think Ashyn is where HUMANS on Roshar came from. Before it became a world of fire and darkness I think it was an earthlike planet with humans and horses, and birds, and pigs, and cattle, and strawberries and all these Rosharan, earth-like anachronisms are things the humans brought with them from Ashyn that were cultivated in a sanctuary (Shinovar) by Cultivation. I think the humans on Roshar are refugees fleeing whatever Odium did to Ashyn and therefore Ashyn is the Tranquiline Halls in Vorin Mythology.
  14. I don't think there is more to the Sunmaker, I think there is less. Just a powergrab and not a religious revolutionary. I don't think the Vorin church was any more or less corrupt than any other government. A lot of what we hear about them is propaganda by the Lighteyes to discredit and justify their take-over. Just like many counts, electors, mayors, kings of the Holy Roman empire and northern Europe had political disagreements with the Roman Church and used the radical religious revolution as an excuse to break free from Roman and Empirical control. It was an excuse, or a justification, just like the conflict over Seselemex Dar (although I think a mad Herald is twisting that situation as the Tukari God-priest, probably Ishar).
  15. He rides straight for Amaram. The Skybreakers would also take issue with the Sons of Honor and Amaram for trying to bring back the Voidbringers intentionally.
  16. I don't think Amaram is as smart as he thinks he is. Gavalar also thought he was being assassinated by a ghostblood. I'm not pooh-poohing your whole theory, but don't think we can assume that the shardbearer who tried to kill Amaram was a Ghostblood. We just don't know. Overall your theory is solid.
  17. Which is what I was trying to do. What would be something terrible, that would break all the orders oaths simultaneously, that the knights might see as worthwhile. Enslave the Listeners to stop a potential desolation, or destroy a whole kingdom to stop someone who was trying to
  18. We don't know, but we know the Radiants existed for a significant amount of time after the Heralds and they suddenly, and without explanation stopped.
  19. The Animation of Dalinar running to save Elhokar and Sadeas' reaction is really well done.
  20. But the spren didn't go anywhere, the Spren died. All of them. And the Spren say over and over again that it was people that broke their oaths to Spren. Syl is pulled away from kaladin by the Stormfather because the Spren are Gunshy after what happened last time. The Radiants lasted for hundreds or thousands of years after the Last Desolation and suddenly, all at once the entire order collapsed because all at once the knights all broke their oaths.
  21. I think the 30 magic types include 10 mostly of Honor, Surgebinding, 10 mostly of Cultivation, fabrials and trapping of spren to harness powers, and Voidbinding, whatever that is.
  22. Yes, she wouldn't have to hide from them. But I think she will stay more in the shadows in general.
  23. She doesn't have to hide being a KR anymore, but... I get the sense the Elsecallers were a secretive order and I think it would be to Jasnah's advantage to stay in the shadows. Her enemies think she's dead and even if people discover she's alive, it is still to her advantage to keep her powers a secret.
  24. I think the second chart is the Cultivtion form of magic, Fabrials.
