  1. I just think that the last desolation's final battle took place in Shin Kak Nish. I would bet that the sword circle is somewhere in the mountains on the border of Shinovar.
  2. Where are you getting this info?
  3. because Taln still has his and Hoid just gave him an un-bonded one so no one would ask questions about what happened to the one he had when he arrived.
  4. I think we're too reliant as a fan-base on asking Brandon. I think we should take more pride in trying to figure things out on our own. How many arguements have been ended, not because another book came out and we discovered the answer, but because Brandon just told us. We shouldn't ask every question we have to Brandon, besides, people put too much stock into what he says and read too much into his silences and RAFO, and not enough into his obfuscating language. I think we're too reliant on his words, they end fun arguments, and I would bet that he is more deceptive than his honest face makes him seem. Yes. This was my thought it's both. Shallan's blade has geometric patterns on it, while Kaladin's is sweeping and sleek has swirling, wind-like patterns. I would guess that Lifts blade is sinuous has vines or crystals while we know Jasnah's is sleek and black. I wonder what order Oathbringer was? The king has a giant flame based sword, that seems to also be a dustbringer sword. Are Oathbringer spoilers supposed to be in the Coppermind? I was looking up Oathbringer (the sword) and it seemed like there was a spoiler in there.
  5. They needed to learn why the Parshendi transformed, to stop the Parshmen from also Transforming. They needed to get to the secret before someone else did.
  6. I meant the church before they were dethroned by the nobility/warlords. The early church that likely grew out of former servants, stewards, and squires of the Radiants. It's likely only the higher-ups would know of the location of these caches, and they would be the most likely members of the Vorin Hierarchy to be killed by the Sunmaker. If the "Skybreakers" have been operating uninterrupted for 2000 years since the Recreance, that's a lot of time for Nale to gather and hide as many shards as he could. I assume Heleran was a non-Surgebinding member of the "Skybreakers" similar to Szeth in Edgedancer, or the old man Lift sees guarding the door. I don't know how Nalan has convinced Highspren to keep bonding when all the others were not. Is it possible Nalan was somehow reawakening Skybreaker Shardblades to give his soldiers surges?
  7. Possibly, I think adhesion contributes to Kaladin sensing movements in the air while fighting. Changes in air pressure act as a sixth sense. I also think Kaladin gets perfect super-hero landings from this surge. He doesn't heal, or resist damage on long falls, his fall is cushioned by a burst of air and stormlight.
  8. The sword of Helaran/Amaram is a Dustbringer sword right? That's not really relevant to this discussion, but it has flames on it and Fire is the essence associated with Chana/Releasers.
  9. Aren't the rooftops in Yeddaw all at ground level?
  10. I believe it's the adhesion surge that allows Kaladin the superhero landings. When he lands from a high fall, a hallow of light and wind bursts out around him cushioning his fall. I also think it plays a role in his spider sense, he senses changes in air pressure and moves with the wind.
  11. Normal people don't have access to Stormlight. Do you mean the added benefits of fabrials? A Radiant would possibly live much longer, but a normal person, without access to Stormlight, in an era when there were no Truthwatchers or Edgedancers, or regrowth fabrials, would live a bit longer from higher oxygen and less gravity.
  12. I don't think that's what happened. They said he did win them. Dalinar used Borden to plant the story of the madman and the secret treasure. The only evidence Dalinar had at the time on Amaram was Kaladin's story.
  13. Helaran received full shards from the "Skybreakers," Lys has a secret unaccounted for shardblade, Taravangian has at least one that he could give to Graves, but since he is miles away and un-activated in Alethkar, he probably has others. Hoid was able to easily find a random blade when he needed one to make sure no one asked questions about what happened to the blade Taln showed up to the gates with. I would guess that the Skybreakers are hiding some, the Shin have a bunch, and that the Vorin Church hid a bunch of them.
  14. I think it would help, I'm no doctor, but less stress on the feet, knees, hips, and back combined with high oxygen seems like it would be healthier.
  15. I agree, I think he staged a fight for his men to see. Also, I don't know if this is what the OP meant, but Amaram didn't have shardplate previously. He acquired both for the first time from Kaladin.
  16. No, In Way of Kings, in a regular High Storm, Kaladin is tied to a building facing the Stormwall. He is thrown into the air by the force of the wind and at one point is being blown around like a kite. I'm not saying the Everstorm isn't dangerous, just that I don't think it will completely destroy the Western cities. I think the bigger threat will be the awakening Listeners.
  17. I’m not arguing there is less energy, I admit that I misspoke earlier. But the direction of the buildings, and the laits, and walls is to protect against the Stormwall. When Lift and Nale stand on the rooftop in the Everstorm in Yeddaw, a city that needs to be protected from Hightorms, they are wind blown and wet, and violent lightening is crashing all Around them, but the aren’t holding on for their life or tossed in the air like Kaladin does in WoK.
  18. But it has no stormeall, which is the part that the Laits and mountains protect against.
  19. I am not reading the Oathbringer spoilers. I will read the book as a whole when it is released. Partly because I'm sanctimonious, and partly because I don't like reading off a screen.
  20. I don't see it. What would be the story purpose? How would these lost Radiants come back and effect the story? Either it's deep background and they never return or they do and I think it would break the story, i.e. the ghost army in Return of the King (movie only). I think Ishar is either lying or corrupted. I think he is trying to kill Radiants to make it easier for Odium to win.
  21. That's true for the blades of the Heralds who abandoned them. But Taln is still bound to the Oathpact. I'm also not sure what you mean. Kaladin holds the Honorblade of Jezrien but isn't bonded to it, so does Dalinar. Why would you assume Taln wasn't already bonded to his blade? Maybe he can summon it back at any point? Hoid may have included the new Shardblade just to stop questions from being asked about what happened to the shardblade he had originally. Few ask questions when the answer seems obvious.
  22. The death rattles are often metaphorical. It could be argued that the Everstorm has a metaphorical stormwall. Its arrival was quite shocking and traumatic.
  23. I have seen it theorized that the giant figure Kaldin sees moving in the storm was one of the Unmade, or a thunderclast. Kaladin describes it as a giant figure striding through the storm.
  24. I think Shinovar is magically protected somehow by Cultivation. I don't have proof, it is more a hypothesis. I don't know if the Everstorm has less total energy than a Highstorm, but someone says that it will move slower than a highstorm. I don't remember who, it may have been from Edgedancer. So maybe it has the same total energy, but it will hit without a massive stormwall.
