Hm. I'm tentatively reading Drake as village for that post. :P.

He's at least convinced me about Biplet. Unfortunately we have under an hour to sort this out, and it's a Saturday morning, so who knows who will be on. I will be, because adrenaline.

Edit: I didn't mean to try to green out Ashbringer, I should have greened out Mat. And I forget the code on mobile so sorry. That is a vote on Ash, not a weird vote and retraction in one post thing. Sorry

Ashbringer's lack of counterclaim to being the Leecher is enough to make me want to vote on them. I'm not the Soother, or Leecher, so that part of your analysis is off, but we'll get to that after rollover. Ashbringer

Hey yknow what I realized? It's super weird that Szeth has been sussed throughout, hasn't ever been a real candidate, and now just vanishes this close to the end of the game, huh.

Szeth

Okay, where the heck is Szeth???

I'm growing less and less comfortable with my vote on Mat. Like, once again, I don't get a lot of the reasoning on him and nothing new has come out. Seems like the reasoning still comes down to the admittedly shoddy thief argument and circumstantial evidence. I think Szeth repeatedly disappearing and not doing much with his nicrobursting powers is... odd, to say the least. Could Szeth be the explanation for three deaths??? Yeah, okay, I've convinced myself I'm gonna keep my vote on Szeth sorry friends.

And that's the turn! No more posting or voting or submitting actions until the next one is posted!

Earl Euphemie had tried to go into hiding as best as he could, after his latest failed assassination. It didn't work very well, considering he still had to go to the daily meetings in the capitol building, and, well...now he was stuck there with the rest of the people. That wasn't good for him, not at all.

People were yelling and shouting at the guards keeping them locked in here now. It was the second day of them being trapped in the main meeting hall, after the guards had locked them all in there yesterday afternoon. Something about needing to keep everyone safe from something.

Well, Earl thought that was bogus. Plus he felt like he was trapped and the walls were closing in on him and that his employer must be in the meeting hall with him and would kill him any moment. So he tried to escape. He tapped bendalloy and stopped breathing, trying to move as quietly as he could. He snuck his way through the seats at the back of the hall, which were all mostly empty since everyone was gathered at the front to argue and yell. He found an entrance that was left unguarded by a guard. In one quick moment, he leaped out of the seats and made for the exit.

He didn't make it far before he felt himself being pulled back by something, and fell to the ground. A guard came running over to him, pinning him to the ground. And of course, Goren chose that moment to enter the meeting hall, right through the entrance Earl had been planning to escape through.

"Why is this man pinned to the ground, soldier?" Goren said.

"He was trying to escape, sir."

Goren sighed. "Great, makes sense, take him outside for...questioning, but don't go without at least two other guards with you."

Earl stopped paying attention to what they said at that point, trying to escape from the grip of the guard pinning him down. It was useless. He tried burning nicrosil and touching the man, seeing if he could shock him by making him burn all his iron too fast. It didn't work. Rusts, Earl thought, he must've stopped burning.

There wasn't much Earl could do besides scream for help as the guard and his companions dragged him outside. A few minutes later, the others heard a gunshot from nearby, but Goren calmed them down and told them it was a routine practice shot.

Anyone want to hear my theory about who the elim team is? :P.

I guess we're playing this out because the kandra is still alive and kicking. It's up to them now how they want things to go.

Also, I had no plan for tonight. I was trying to soft Hazekiller, but no one bit.

Dannex, Drake, you're my teammates so let's do some strategizing. I don't suppose we're lucky enough to have all the blackmail between us? Should we even show our cards like that?

Hey, there wasn't a tie! I see this as a win in my book.

(Okay, so I may have had some ulterior motives in my tie-breaking skills xD. But I really don't like D1 ties if I can avoid them. More on that in Aftermath I guess.)

Oop, I gave up too early. If it was 2v:3e:1k, I think this game would be over and an elim win. So the kandra must have been converted from the eliminator team. I suspect it was the former Soother, because they didn't vote manipulate. The kandra therefore has access to two kills, and can dictate who wins or loses. Interestingly, I don't think the elims know who it is. So enjoy that discussion in the doc. :P. If they exe two villagers tonight, we lose. So we need to convince the kandra to aid our cause.

If it's you, Ashbringer, I offer you the Lerasium spike. No votes during the day cause no one to die. We can continue until you can buy it.

If it's you, Mat, I offer some excellent RP opportunities. Philico the kandra can fend off my ventriloquist dummy character I haven't used since Day Two in an exciting battle of wits!

And to you, Biplet, I offer the opportunity to delay the game long enough for Striker to make a 10,000 word writeup for the Aftermath, which will probably be very enjoyable!

Hey Archer are you a Thug?

If the kandra claimed in thread what would you do?

Well well well well well well well well well!!
This simplifies things :P

And makes them more complicated, because I thought the game was still running because a village vote manip came through for us, but in reality it is due to a Kandra taking over one of the eliminators.

And you guys just figured out that all of you can be online at the end of the cycle to put in kill orders :P

Assuming it was an elim kandra, I'd suggest submitting the elim kill order right before rollover, as well as your own. Kill the elims so you have complete control of the exe. Kill Ghost Araris too so you have control of both docs as well. Actually, you need one elim alive still so the game doesn't end.

Anyway, then we'll figure out how to help you achieve an Alternative Wincon!™

Hey, I want RP!

Maybe I'll just see if I can set a record.

If it gives us a shot at winning, I'm willing to play on for the two or so more cycles it would take for you to write enough RP (and analysis posts?) to reach the boxings you need to buy that spike. It's shiny investiture, aren't you at least a little tempted? >:)

Nah, they very clearly just all developed reasonable suspicions of Szeth's inactivity at the same time/really liked ties!

:thonk:

This is valuable information, it'd be nice for everyone involved if you divulge it :P.

Next question, for everyone: Who has a Blackmail, raise your hands!

Definitely not caramel, considering that has milk in it for some reason at Starbucks. :P

Quick clarification about how Blackmails work: Yes, they can be used to redirect onto any player, including to cause a self-target. The Elim Kill is not exempt from this rule.

Matrim, I hope you know from the bottom of my heart that I would never blackmail you :(

I think our mutual trust and admiration is far too great to allow this, and I am sincerely very hurt that you would ever have doubted me. Besides, I am far too honorable to ever stoop to something as dirty and underhanded as blackmailing an opponent. The fact that I am in every way honorable is well-known and not disputed by anyone. Or anyone alive at least but you can’t win them all.

Of course I do not have blackmail, and if I did it definitely would not even cross my mind to use it on you.

I really don't know how to take that xD

I mean, there's two Blackmails out there, right? And I'm... pretty sure you have one and Archer has one because like who else would have one :P.

I'm also kinda half convinced one of you is a Thug which is fun

But yeah it'd of course be magnificent if you didn't blackmail me. Or anyone, for that matter :P This game could go on longer than one more day, you know.

Matrim, as you know I've had it out for you since the beginning of the game. I absolutely intend to blackmail you tonight. Your clever sleuthing caused me to reveal my true and genuine role, so I feel obliged to redirect any kills you submit. I have chosen this path and will stick to it without deviating. I consider you my arch nemesis and would derive great pleasure from your failure. I am underhanded and ruthless and will stoop extraordinarily low to achieve my goals.

Hey Striker, how does blackmail stack? If two people redirect the same person, what happens? If one person redirects another redirecting, what happens?

True and genuine role as a Sentry? What about Thug? :P.

If two people redirect the same player to the same second player, it just works. If they redirect the first player to two different second players...honestly have no idea how to resolve that conflict. @Young Bard Thoughts? :P

So, this is complicated. :P Here's an example:

Player A is redirecting Player B to Player C.
Player B is redirecting Player D to Player E.

These are our two action submissions we get. What happens is that Player A successfully redirects Player B. Which means that instead of Player D getting redirected to Player E, Player C gets redirected to Player E.
