Am I counting wrong? There are 4 votes for Striker, and 3 for Connie. If Ash or Forge switch, the we most certainly don’t have a tie, unless you are making background assumptions about how certain roles will be used. And I think only an elim would be doing that right now.

Ash and Forge are voting Striker. If they agreed to switch (with me and Striker) to Books, then Striker would have three votes and Books would have three votes.

Striker (4): Araris, Forge, Ash, Books
Connie (3): TJ, Striker, Quinn

I think Connie is a better bet than you, so I'll do it for now. But I don't like this. Not at all. I may trust you somewhat but I don't trust TJ, who's the one who started it, and she can't be on to defend herself, and I'm pretty certain about (Books) at this point.

If we can get one of  @Ashbringer or @forget me not to switch to Books, would you vote them with me? That would be a tie, at least.

I also agree that Books is a better alternative personally, but if TJ isn't willing to vote with us, I'd rather vote on someone that might let me survive.

I really don't think that's the case, Araris. Plus, like Quinn said, the goal is to get an exe on Books. TJ will probably stay on Connie (since he has apparently gone to sleep and he should stay asleep). If we switch to Books, with even just one of Ash or Forge, then it's 3-3 with me and Books.

And of course I got ninja'd three times while writing this. :P

I may not be around for the rest of the cycle unfortunately, so Books (Connie). It doesn't look like voting Connie is going to save Striker, and I'm still holding out hope there'll be a last-minute switch to Books... however unlikely that may be : P

What just... nevermind.

I still feel like Striker's the right call for now. But if TJ's gone that puts us in more of a tight spot...

Not a chance. I'll catch you on the other side of things.

I'll see you tonight too. ;)

Elhokar found himself trapped in his own palace. And it was all Wit’s fault, too. Wit had encouraged Elhokar to write all those anonymous letters and have them published around the warcamps. And what had happened? Wit’s stupid advise just caused a mob to come charging against the palace. Wit ran off earlier, too, Elhokar thought. The storming bastard. I can’t even yell at him for getting me in this mess. I’ll just have to hope the guards are enough to keep them out of the palace. I don’t want to imagine what could happen if they get in here tonight….

~

So, if it wasn’t obvious enough, I’m Elhokar. I will be surviving the exe shortly, though I’m sad that it came to this. I am glad that I decided to use that legal document last night though. To the village bodyguard (assuming we have one): I request that you protect me tonight. I haven’t decided whether I’m going to use my ability tonight or N7, but I’d rather have the security in knowing that, if something goes wrong, I’ll survive regardless of if I use my ability or not. As for how I got the Legal Document: I started with 3 spheres, so I had enough to buy it by N2.

Time! Rollover will be a bit slow today due to IRL. Thanks.

Night Five: A Tale Fit for a King

I am not worthy. Of anything.

-Dalinar Kholin, through a scribe, 1173.7.5.7

On a cold, windy night, a certain fellow sat on a fencepost with a flute. He played expertly despite the weather, a song spiraling up into the sky splashed with the colors of a setting sun.

The man paused his fluting. “There once was a king”, he sang, “Who could only dream,

“Of leading a reign of conquest.”

The wind whistled its reply.

“He had heard many times, the stories of his ancestors, and the valiant lives they led.”

An ugly crab looking thing scuttled past.

“And although he tried, nothing seemed to go right! The others mocked in secret!

“And he knew this fact, but he did not stop, but pressed on in leading the nation!

“In its darkest hour! And his struggles just grew! But he didn’t give in!”

The man stopped, panting slightly. The ugly crab looking thing stopped nearby.

The man pointed at the ugly crab looking thing with his flute. “Will you?”

The crab looking thing became many, swirling in hordes until another man stood before the first. “Wit.” The newcomer said.

“Philico.” Wit replied.

Philico paced back and forth. “Why do you sing the king’s lamentations? He is gone, there is no point in mocking his failure.”

Wit looked aghast. “Is that what you think I am doing, Philico? One would think you would know me by now.” Wit smiled. “Then again, you did call me Wit.”

The Sleepless waved a dismissive hand. “Hoid, Cephandrius, the Imperial Fool, whatever. And yes; what else would you call singing a song about a dead man’s faults?”

Wit gazed up at the stars. “Philico, it was not a song about his faults. It was a song about his strengths. Think of all Elhokar went through. Why, any lesser man would have caved in years ago! Kingship is built on image, and yet Elhokar’s lived all this time, only faltering when he was quite literally stabbed. That’s true resilience.”

Wit twirled his flute. “That, my dear friend, was a tale fit for a king.”

Philico eyed him. “I suppose.”

“And,” Wit continued, “the only thing to do now is to remember. Remember the King, remember the nation, remember what’s at stake. And rise up, press on.”

His voice grew to a whisper. “Although I fear it might already be too late…”

What happened? Why didn't the document work? did he not have one? I didn't block him, so unless the elims have an RBer and were blocking him... anyway, we lose tonight so it's a mute point unless I can guess who'll be submitting the kill or the person they target happens to have protection. And even then, if they have an RBer then they can block me...

Edit: well that was nice of whoever Dalinar is, making it extra sure Elhokar would die >>

I'm kind of confused as to why Striker didn't claim earlier. It may not have helped convince me, but it might have saved his life. @Quintessential, I'm still not sure I understand your interactions with Striker. Could you explain?

I was fairly sure that Dalinar would back me up, since he did on C3.

...what is there to explain? He and I sheeped each other a bunch for some reason and distrusted each other for it, but while we distrusted each other it was basically a choice between always voting each other and hoping the other was village while pursuing our other suspicions (since those suspicions all lined up). Then last cycle I realized if he were elim, he could have moved his vote to save Whysper on C3 (he was on at the time and he didn't). And when I said as much, he decided that didn't make sense as something a villager would say so he decided to trust me a bit more too. Little too late tho...

: P that was sarcasm lol

But I would assume that Dalinar is on the Striker train and the C3 Whysper train, since they're all the same people. : P whether it's because you were voting those two people or not, idk.

Okay. I sort of got the impression that the two of you were in a PM from your final post last cycle.

On the off chance the game somehow doesn’t end after the night turn (requires Quinn to roleblock the kill or there to only be 2 elims left), I’d encourage people to buy armor. I think most people should be able to afford a set both tonight and next night, which would give us one free extra misgrinch.

There was evidence that there's a second RBer (Tani got RBed one night), so this is confirmation that one of the RBers is an elim.

Armor only works the night after it's bought, so you'd have needed to plan ahead.

Actually, since we had the crisis, there's no way anyone could have planned ahead. I'm just saying that there is a miniscule possibility that we haven't lost yet, and we might as well take that into account and get some armor now.

Edit: Whoops, financial crisis was 3 cycles back. So there quite possibly are several people who have armor right now.

Right, well since it's probably obvious to the elims anyway, I've been blocking every Night and haven't had the chance to purchase anything. So... if there is a Bodyguard out there, I'm someone that the elims know isn't protected already... yeah. of course, this could turn into an IKYK reallll easy xD

Cara was panicking. The king was dead. She was failing. She didn't even know why Dalinar had asked her to spy for him in the first place. She had absolutely no idea what to do.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

That was the worst possible thing that could happen! I don't......I don't even know.......?

It was all the long posts' fault. I get lost reading them. Then I get confused. Then bad things happen.

Cara thought, "What could possibly go wrong?" Um, well, EVERYTHING!

Legal document are required to be used the night before, so for it not to take effect, someone should have blocked him last night. But then he would know if he tried using his Document and was blocked so my only assumption is.... he forgot they needed to be used in the previous night?

Day Six: Good Mourning, Alethkar

It’s always quietest before the storm.

-The Wise Words of Philico, 1173.7.5.7

The warcamps were in a standstill after the death of the king. No one moved, no one spoke. The whole kingdom was under a veil of mourning, and not even Sadeas was heartless enough to break that.

Until morning.

Nobody died!

Political Vengeance Event has been triggered! For the duration of the next two cycles (D6 & D7) all parties involved in a tied vote will be killed.

A natural Highstorm has occurred! Each player gained 2 spheres.

  • There will be a majority execution today, with tied votes killing all parties involved.
  • PMs are closed unless through actions.
