Stink

Illwei and Quinn throwing hands in the thread happened LG74, and it turned out Illwei was elim. The difference is this time I feel like they're both making decent points. Quinn/Archer/Stink are definitely in the middle of.... something. Unsure what. So, Stink. That's my best guess.

Apologies for lack of contribution. Once again, irl has reared its ugly head. This weekend I can really participate!

Soooo.... I think that people are grasping at straws with the whole stink thing. While it is C1, and finding elims is going to be hard, I think we're tinfoiling a bit too hard on stink. That being said, I am willing to exe him, but I want to consider the other options first.

I agree, but someone has to die D1 and I'd rather avoid a tie (or me completely avoiding the D1 vote like last game haha).

If you have better reasoning for some of the other candidates I'd really like to hear it!!!

It seems that the other option is Archer. I'm going to try and look into the merits of that, but I've got class right now, so I won't have much time to really think about it.

Well, to be fair, ties this game kill one of the tied players rather than no one dying, I'm pretty sure. So ties aren't too bad, they just leave things to be manipulated by vote manipulation. Which, for this game, can really only be soothers right now, I think.

... oh. Vote manip is different this game. Okay... Mistborn dura-zinc is still potent but not as powerful as it could be.

Apparently it's been a while since I've had a normal D1 without having some kind of exam crunch or medical thing, but I have classes until 11 so I'm probably not voting. Don't really have any leads except lingering confusion on where the Archer train came from. If I have time / "have time" I'll look at / for the reasoning on Stink, because I haven't seen that much either...

Oh! Shoot, sorry I thought rollover wasn't until tomorrow for some reason : P Unfortunately, rollover is at 2pm my time which means that while I can be on for it, I don't have the time to sit down and actually think about stuff.

Will say that the train on Striker (edit: I meant STINK) worries me. It's not that it picked up super fast--in fact, that's probably a good sign because the elims don't know their teammates identities, so they have to be cautious about following trains or risk accidentally voting out someone of the same alignment as them. Villagers, obviously, always have that issue, but I think so far we're assuming there are more of us still, so we can afford to lose a few.

What worries me about STINK is that nobody's actually giving reasoning related to STINK. Illwei's voting based off of an e/e pair, which on the one hand is understandable in this game but on the other hand I've done that before and it doesn't work out so well on C1 usually. Everyone else is voting him... just because? Because others are doing it? I don't have time to go back and check if that's actually why, but from what I can tell the reasons to vote stink have very little to do with STINK. It makes me wonder if there isn't a Mistborn on that train and one or more of the elims on their team decided to follow them.

As for myself: the only reason I have to think STINK might be elim was Archer's response to my blank-vote on STINK, and I am no longer convince that Archer is particularly elimmy either, except in conjunction with either STINK or Illwei, both of whom are behaving in... maybe not villagery ways but ways that I've seen village!them act before. I'm leaving Archer on the back burner, but idk whether I'll... vote based off of it. idk, I just don't have anything at this point, partly because this game is way different and I don't even know what to look for anymore.

I make a point to not vote on the first cycle. I'd be frustrated if I got voted off on the first cycle for no reason, so yeah. Also, sorry for not posting earlier. I was a bit busy.

 

The Random Bystander had just completed her task on the dragon world, and could now compare them. She was bored, so she had decided to randomly join one of the armies. I sure hope I don't run into that Zane guy. I heard he's insane. She played her instrument. Gears

The stuff on STINK is based on theories without much substance, so I don't want to go there. I'd rather vote on Gears because I don't think he has the best interests of Village at heart. He's unnecessarily giving tips to Elims. Yeah, he plays it off as something pre-written and therefore NAI. It strikes me as a convenient way to prepare for helping Elim teammates in case he rolled Elim. He could have removed the stuff that helps Elims.

And if someone argues that the info is fairly obvious, then why bother putting it there? There might be an Elim out there who isn't paying much attention to the rules, so seeing a nice post with exactly what to do in their role is just what they'd like to see.

I'm not completely against discussing Elim strategies. There are times to discuss them so that you can think of ways to counter them. But the post by Gears was simply giving Elims advice on how to use their role effectively. Not good.

Okay. What the storming heck is this train on Stink?!?! I might be missing something, but the only reasoning that I saw was people saying, "Oh, Illwei, I like your reasoning letsa go kill stinka!" And all I really saw that people tagged Stink for suspicion was a JOKE VOTE (As I read it) by QUINN. Not Stink! ....Just why?

Archer isn't much better. But people are actually suspicious because of what they did. Not because of what someone else did. I don't completely buy the reasoning. ("Oh, archer is controlling the conversation and whatnot.") But seriously, it's a lot more than we got on stink. Not going to vote him though.

Linaril, on the other hand.... What they did was piggyback on reasoning that to me seems almost non-existent. The post where they voted on stink just was incredibly off to me. I don't really have a lot more behind this vote... So... yeah. Really if you ask for reasoning all you're going to get is going to be "Gut"

Yeah, but I just can't really see Linaril's vote in any way except that of an elim. I know that they might be more hesitant to jump on trains, but I don't think that it's never going to happen.

After all, villagers jump on trains too, in normal games. And they can't even be sure they're not gonna kill off their most powerful role by accident, whereas the elims in this game at least know that.

I've read through a bit of the thread, and so far I think that voting for Gears is the only option that has any real reasoning for it, at least from what I've read. I agree that Gears could have removed the parts of their post that advise the elims, and I think that we shouldn't discuss elim strategies at all so that the elims are unable to coordinate by blending in their planning in the thread.
